I initially thought so too, but now I’m not so sure when I take into account the plastics and fit and finish complaints that have come out from the Tundra and I know this sample size is one, but my coworker has a TRD Sport 24 Tacoma and already has new door seals ordered because they’re way too noisy, that could just be a one off though.

Toyota has lost their minds with pricing across their entire lineup. I was saving for a Tacoma and Supra for years, but have now fully abandoned wanting them because of how badly prices have gotten. I ended up buying a ZR2 about a month ago and have loved it without any issues. I'll also be looking for a C8 instead of a supra since its only a tiny bit more expensive but alot better.

It appears Toyota has forgot what got them to “The Show”: Reasonable pricing and exceptional reliability and simple engineering. The current Gen Tundra has shown to be super expensive and with a serious flaw in reliability. Nothing worse than choosing an off-roader that you can’t trust. That’s why I’m sticking with my 2.5 gen Tundra and 200 series Land Cruiser. I could be proven wrong over time, I’ll be on the sidelines until it decided one way or another.

I’d still go with the Tacoma, personally. I don’t like the appearance of the other trucks. The exterior of GM is okay but the interior just feels so cheap and I don’t like the general GM aesthetic. Ranger has the least appealing exterior I’ve seen on a truck. Perhaps I’m just picky but the Taco is the only mid-size truck I like. I’d look at full-size otherwise.
