    That’s a crazy price! They want ~$48k around my local dealerships in Texas. I ended up leasing a TRD off-road for a great deal on a 3 year term, paying less than half. If I love it, I’ll buy one later when more improvements are made to the new gen

    Drove the new TRD Off Road today. Have a 2016 TRD Sport. The difference between my 2016 and the 2024 TRD Off Road was pretty amazing. Got back in my TRD Sport with V6 and it felt like a turd compared to the 2024 Tacoma. I don't care, I'm paying and buying a new Tacoma. I paid $34,500 in Dec 2015 for my Tacoma. Have 46,800 miles 8 1/2 years later. I'll sell my Tacoma for $32k. Basically sell it for 90% what i paid for it new 8 1/2 years ago. And I'll do the same in 8 years from now. It doesn't matter what you pay, for a new one because you'll get most of it back unlike the crap competition. The only thing I've done to my 2016 is normal oil changes, normal maintenance and bought a new battery. You can't go wrong with the Tacoma. Now I'm just trying to decide which one. Sport or Off Road. I like the looks of the Sport better but the Off Road really had a nice ride. Not sure if the Sport will ride as nice. Don't drive a new Tacoma if you have an old one because you'll immediately hate your old one. The difference was night and day. I thought I really liked my 2016 TRD Sport. Now I realize it's blah.

      which one did you end up buying? I am in the same boat, I want a manual Tacoma, coming from Wrangler. I do a lot of highway driving now and I cannot stand the loud tire noise with AT tires.

    • @FlinthillsFloyd
      @FlinthillsFloyd 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tolgaayazseven9139 I held off buying. Got real close. I'm going to wait until Toyota is hurting for more business and until the second year of production. My 16 Tacoma has 47k miles so not dying to trade up. I do like how the new ones drive.. But to upgrade it'll cost me an extra $25k. If Toyota starts selling them for invoice then I'll get serious. But Toyota is crazy thinking the Tacoma TRD SPORT is a $50k truck. People aren't buying so at some point they'll have to drop prices. Also they need to improve build quality. So I'm sticking with my 2016. It looks new and only has 47,000 miles.

    • @ChopperChad
      @ChopperChad 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not really the same though. 34500 in 2015 dollars is 46000 in 2024 dollars which is a real dollar difference of 14k. So you're retaining about 70% value. Still great but ain't 90%.

      @user-hf8ie8mf3n 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheBRUINS1337 it’s very dependent on where you live, but yes, it’s doable. We only have one dealer in our metro area that allows special orders on 4Runners. Everyone else fibs about the port installed options, and then adds more dealer stuff. Also ADM in some cases. Yay 😀

    • @BigHouse907
      @BigHouse907 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There are two dealers in the entire state, both owned by the same company . (Alaska)
      That’s two dealers in a landmass that is 2/5 the size of the United States.
      They know the next closest dealer is over 1600 miles away. So they have the upper hand.
      So yes, it is that hard.
      So far, our dealer has received five and absolutely zero off-road trims. 😊
      But my initial statement still stands true. You cannot order a truck with all the exact options you want. They are notorious for bolting on a bunch of crap you have no interest in that bumps the Price place several thousand dollars.

    56k for a midsize truck? As an avid Tacoma lover (I've owned 4 of them), this pricing has fallen out of control. Its not sustainable and I suspect dealers are going to have trucks sitting on the lots for awhile, especially when you couple the price with the high interest rates. 56k and people can buy a pretty well equipped domestic brand full size truck, and even Tundra SR5s have decent features/upfit for less than that. Wow....

      Car loans are already being extended out to 8 years. I wouldn't be surprised with all these increases in car prices. Loans are soon gonna be ten year loans. As long as people can continue getting loans, car prices will keep increasing. In 2019 I bought a brand new Ram. Rebel fully loaded for 45000. Today, that same truck, it's about 70000.
