My decision was easy. I've been a warlock since the start and I stubbornly stuck with Demonology throughout Legion. So BFA I will remain as a Demonology warlock!
Rogue for me! Also im curious which addons you are using in this video. I particulary cant tell if you are using a font addon for the damage numbers. Overall it looks really clean. I hate having a subpar computer. Also what nameplates are you using? They look stock but the debuffs look far larger than mine.

Word. Been trying to decide between Druid and Monk for BfA, then Affliction Lock felt pretty fun, then Subtlety Rogue caught my attention, then word got to me about Pally healing and Ret didn't feel as boring as I'd been led to believe...... The struggle is real.
Yes!! It's the worst! I know i want option to heal so that helps but then Shaman and Priest arent done being tweaked till patch 8.1 so its a gamble! Ugh.....
My choices are coming down to Ret Pally, Mage, Warlock and Monk. For Melee, I ended up having the most fun on WW Monk, but my Pally is my oldest toon with the bulk of my achievements and reputations. Warlock and Mage are hard, but the choice is being boiled down to everything you stated. In spite of having all of my challenge artifacts for my Warlock (and demo is fun now!) my Mage (Frost specifically) is currently the most fun I’m having at range in the game. Also, getting my mage’s frost artifact was the most satisfying challenge I completed when it was all said and done. My pally might lose the melee contest if I can get past the nostalgia factor.
I just had a sudden change of heart, I was going to play Paladin. But then I tried Moonkin, and i REALLY love balance now! It's so much better than the legion version but still feels somehow the same. It's fast phased which is also a + And of course, druids can play all roles which i love too =D
there is no way in hell Balance is smoother or more interesting now than in legion, lost so much with quite boring talent changes for BFA. If you didnt play balance in legion then you dont really have anything to base it on so i can let that one slide ;)
Yes I played it, was in the top 100 balance players. But like the other guys said the haste will be so low at 120. I have a capped Druid on beta and I’m sitting at 13% haste in dungeon gear so its really slow. The pre patch version is ok but all the legendaries suck apart from lady and the child shoulders and sephuz which is really boring =P
just to clarify on survival hunter: they got 1 melee spell which is raptor strike (if you want to count Crave sure 2 spells but since it got like 15 yard range i dont feel like its melee), all the other spells are 40-30 yard range + there is a cooldown (aspect of the eagle) that makes your only melee spell to be 40 yrd range. so im not sure if its a melee spec ;p (thou most of the time you will be in melee range.)
You can’t tell what character is superior than the other until the BFA goes live , where we shall retrieve the artifacts traits and test them then we make the choice
I've narrowed it down to mage, dh, or rogue. I like dh exclusively for vengeance, and getting those faster queues, but really have no desire to play havoc or pvp with it. Within my play group we don't have a tank, so it would also feel good to be needed. Rogue is my favorite class for pvp, but I don't have a strong desire to do pve content as rogue. Mage is my middle of the road. I can see myself playing any mage spec, and enjoying it both in pve and pvp. For that reason I'm leaning toward mage...anyone having similar struggles?
I like the lore and looks of ele shaman but I also adore the aggressive battlepriest style of disc priest. I love the nature aspect of balance druid and I love the arcane aspect of a mage. But being a warlock having demons at my side all the time while casting deadly fiery spells also seems great... But then again, I always heavily gravitate towards casters with lightning/thunder and I adore heavy AOE so ele shaman seems like a must. I also can dig the resto style as it makes me look like a water bender. Warlock only destro seems fun, don't like affli to keep all time debuffs up on all seems tedious and summoning a horde of demons before I can do anything isn't my cup of tea. Mage just seems so squishy and it has so many spells with talents included that I think I won't be able to see the forest throught the trees anymore. Balance seems simple with the few buttons and I love the celestial attack theme, but feral and guardian don't speak to me while Resto might be okayish (I guess), but I don't like to maintain 100 HoT spells on every member all the time, and they have lots of supporting skills aswell I read? Disc priest then seems like real fun as I can survive by just attacking and keeping my bubble up, I like that. I can also dig the Holy style I guess with big aoe heals, but like the balance yinyang aspect more. So guess I'll be going for Disc priest and Ele shaman but don't know which one I'll main (and third I'm still stuck between boomkin, mage or lock for some reason). This is hard.. :/
I've been in a spiral of confusion regarding my class choice but I ended up choosing the class that led me into a raid group: the Shaman. Regardless of the number and changes, I never got bored of the Shaman in Legion due to the visual and audio feedback which is more than enough to bring a class to my attention. This hasn't changed for the amount I practiced my rotation in the live version of 8.0. I also need the animations of the character (and sound) to not be annoying, distracting or out of place.
After 3 weeks I decided to play monk, since i like all 3 specs and I want to flex a lot. Second char will be demon hunter for farming mats. Third char will be Arcane Mage, it's not stupid if it works!
I have struggled a lot with deciding on a main for BfA myself, spending the past 2 months thinking about it and going back and forth. The problem for me is that I'm drawn mostly by the look and feel of classes, as opposed to their mechanics or specific roles, and there are so many interesting class themes in WoW at the moment. It's hard to pick just one.
Stuart I’m in the same boat. I’ve cling to demo lock since Cata and now that it’s not garbage I thought to main it but I love the class fantasy of the DK. Then there’s the fact that I mainly play healers so now I’m stuck leveling three characters.
I ended up choosing Ele because having a healer OS is immensely useful when new expacs are released and you need to pug things. I also think the class fantasy is a lot more interesting than say, mage. Dunno if I'll regret it though, it sucks having limited Raid utility / waiting for 8.1 changes.
Healer + Hybrid-Melee-Semi-range-Semi-Melee DPS -> Shaman Resto + Enhancement Tank -> Demon Hunter Vengence as I haven't played with DH. Old mains were Warrior and Paladin + a Rogue, so yeah, they are out of the question. I don't spend as much time playing WoW as I used to and I only play up to Normal Raids and Heroic Dungeons, so I have plenty of time to gear up more than one or two characters.
Even with GCD changes, I decided to go with a ranged spec since whole of Legion I exclusively played melee ones. Settled finally with Frost mage and Balance druid. Loving both right now. Also................... BFI squad unite :D
I'm still uncertain. Boosted a hunter which is quite enjoyable right now, but might be a little too simple when played all day every day. On the other side is rogue, which honestly is just fun right now, but also stupidly OP which might factor into it. I liked my rogue across all off legion, so I might stick with it. High mobility, high burst subtlety rogue (now with working shadow clones), Good flowing AoE monster with some nice RNG sprinkled in for outlaw. And single target tunnel vision "melee dotlock" for assa, which seems to dismember targets really reliably, which comes in handy for pvp :)
I have bounced around from rogue to warrior, then Hunter and back to warrior. But I've decided on Havok DH and will probably pick up Fury/Arms Warrior after that.
I really enjoyed this video. Has given me some things to think about. But my decision for a main still feels hard. I want to main a healer but am unsure of which one out of Holy priest, Holy Paladin, or Mistweaver. They all have strengths and weaknesses and I can't seem to pinpoint which one I prefer.
I'm having a hard time deciding what to main next. I'm leaning towards demonology warlock since I've mained a Warlock since I started back in wrath. But I'm also partial to Fury Warrior and Fire Mage. It's not going to be easy to decide at least until 8.1, when Shadow Priests get changed.
Honestly I'd just suggest playing a class you like and know how to play. Even if it may not be better than other classes. Cause there's nothing that's more of a hassle than trying to learn a new class at a new xpack. Believe me, I've been there. At the end of the day I just stuck with playing the pally as I always have since vanilla. Even though it may not be the best class right now and in legion I'm still able to make it work cause I just know the class that we'll and I'm used to all of its play styles, strategies and rotations and talent selections. It makes it just way easier for me. Definitely saves me the headache of trying to adjust a new class to bfa cause there goes a lot of thinking planning and play testing into it.

Glad to see you made your choice! Even after all this time, I'm still torn on what I'm going to play. It's funny, I leveled a Velf Warlock for the heritage armor a several months ago with the intention of making it my main for BfA. I mained a fire mage in Legion, which I really enjoyed for the most part (minus getting the bracers as my 2nd to last legendary). I have to admit, as of right now the three warlock specs aren't really doing it for me. Demo being dead last for raid DPS is lame (may change at 120, but that's not what I've heard from beta/PTR). The deathbolt Affliction playstyle is a little too micromanagement-y for my taste, and Destruction is boring outside of it's 3 minute DPS cooldown. On top of that, their mobility is nonexistent and most of their "tankiness" has gone out the window. I recently boosted a Belf Paladin and hit the ground running to gear him up super quick to get through the mage tower. I like healing and having the significantly shorter queues is really nice when I only get an hour or two to play during the work week. While ret isn't the absolute most fun melee spec, it's still enjoyable for me. Paladins also have awesome lore and awesome xmogs. So now he's in the running. After all that, I dusted off my mage to update her talents with the prepatch. I still quite enjoy Fire, despite having to choose between Flame on vs Phoenix Flames. I didn't touch Frost much in Legion, but I'd likely swap to it for BfA. I still need to practice the rotation quite a bit (especially Glacial Spike) but after feeling a little disappointed with Warlock I'm thinking about returning to my OG main...
I am also thinking about maining a mage, while playing a warrior as an alt maybe. The only problem I have is that I love doing some pvp here and there. It's a problem because I still don't know how to deal with melees in BfA. In Legion I just switched to arcane when joining a pvp battleground, with it's three blinks and all I could deal with most melee speccs, or annoy them long enough so they moved on to another target. BfA however offers just two blinks and every time I tried it in pvp I basically just got wasted. So.. long story short: I love mages when it comes to dungeons and raids because they are one of these ranged classes that can be played with ease because they are straight forward. PvP however might be an issue because I can't see me winning against rogues or warriors :(
Fury is a bit weird at first switching from arms but once you learn to keep WW buff up it’s ridiculous and the GCD doesn’t even exist if you have enough haste
I like big flashy action bars! Can’t decide between Enh Sham (the gamble) Fury Warrior (Blizzs favorite melee) or outlaw pirate (probably most viable for M+). I know that pirate and war are the safe picks but I’ve always loved Shams and I hope blizz gives us a good rework but I still have scars from past reworks of shaman :/
Maining my monk/warrior like i always have. And i'll be lvling up multiple chars aswell to try out just one spec since i missed legion entirely (stopped playing halfway through Wod) so here i come (outlaw) rogue,(enh) sham etc since they changed so much, i just have to try em out again
I just came back after 20 months and I’ve changed my choice of what to play so many times I’m just gonna stick with lock and then level an alt for whatever is fotm

Played mage on legion, it was fun but i hated rune of power. U had to get uninterrupted burn phase or your DPS would suck for that fight. BM Hunter is so much fun since u can keep moving without DPS loss and surv Hunter is very unique spec overall.
i used to main MM Hunter in Legion wich i never had a problem with, but the new hunter just feels bad to me, same with warlock and mage so i decided to main Demon Hunter, wich is such a fun class for both DPS and Tank
I'm personally wanting 3 classes and my list is looking like mage>druid=rogue>DK=Paladin Rough decision for me since I like a small option to tank not sure how often I'll do it, I mostly want to range. My Main will most likely be mage, but I love stealthing so in tempted to go druid since I like balance druid however feral feels crappy to me. I don't want to play druid for literally only one spec. So, I want to have a rogue alt they are really fun. Then the option between DK and paladin is rough. I like both. I love the lore and aesthetics. I'm more of a shield person but it's not deal breaking. I don't know if having 2 melee dps specs for DK is good since it would be my 3rd character. So it will be more for its transmog from bfa. I like both classes for that. I'm not sure how to place all these or going 4 classes...
Affli Warlock is still the best choice...with the Affli Warlock you can do EVERYTHING... even solo. Sec choice would be BM...thats Logical...third class could be the Illidari-Tank...also nearly invincible ^^ My two Mains will be the Affli-Warlock AND the Hunter-BM...cause i simply cant choose between them...i love both classes...i started WOW with my Hunter-BM...and i played the Affli Warlock Long before "it was cool" ^^
After healing for 11 years, and tanking the last tier of Legion because of reasons, I find myself really wanting to dps. Warrior or rogue are what I enjoy the most, but going into an expansion without my usual healer class main is turning out to be very difficult for me. 😬
They've stated they are not looking to add a new tier of talents or even base abilities for the near future, maybe in a later expansion but nothing planned. Sucks but hopefully Azerite armor gets better over the course of the xpac, that's where I am putting my hopes on.
like you i wanna be ranged this time around. I want to main dps for sure and i have my choice down to either spriest or mage and i cant decide. i dont like arcane of mage but the other 2 specs are cool and i love spriest. im afraid spriest will get rekt in 8.1 changes so im sorta hesitant. i also like the lore and feel of the flavor of the mage more. its a really tough choice lol
I've played Guardian druid since the middle of SoO, which is a fairly long time. Its not looking terrible in BFA, but I'm just not hyped at all to be honest. I wanna try something new. Currently thinking of going Mage myself, I like all the utility the mage has, the portals, the food, the int buff, the buffsteal, the curse removal, the interupt, the mobility, the ice block etc. I look at my druid and its attributes seem to be 'has lots of HP' while the mage seems to have much more going for it. I even like Arcane most, dunno it just feels best. Fire seems kinda boring to me, seems like its the most cookie cutter.
Mained Fire Mage in Legion, my friends always said frost is boring so i never really tried it, started leveling a hunter, felt like it was boring, tried Destruction WL, no mobility, thinking of going frost fire too. GET OUT OF MY HEAD
since im mainly pvper, i wanted something cool, fresh and rewarding if played correctly .. and yes Blizzard gave me that :) Surivval hunter, after maining Ret pala since TBC i went to surv hunt and i absolutely love it, its utility,mobility, constant dmg :)
I prefer ranged dps, but I can't have a main that doesn't have a tanks spec. The only class that can do both is a druid, but as much as I like balance, bear is probably the most boring tank to play in the game (sure they are good at the job, but just so boring to play). So for melee dps I really am liking the unholy DK, but I tried some blood tanking the other day and it is bad. VDH is probably the most fun tank, jumping around everywhere and spamming sigils and Havoc is simple but at least has good visuals. So looks like DH it is. P.S. if Blizz would give Shaman a tank spec, I'd be all over that class.
Honestly, Havoc with Momentum is great fun. At first I despised it, but the high movement play style and trying to optimize the Momentum window is actually really engaging!

I joined wow a few months ago and i’m currently level 70, i still have a level 100 and level 110 boost which i’m saving. However, i’m confused about artifact weapons, can i still get my weapon when i reach the correct level??
Yes, you'll get your artifact weapon as you play through the Legion story line. It won't have all the traits that you would have had if you played during the expansion but you will still be getting relics to put into your artifact to bump up it's item level which makes it more effective.
I honestly can't decide on a Warlock or a Hunter, I can't decide if having insane mobility or insane utility with summons/cookies the theme of the warlock is so much cooler to me but I also can't seem to stand destro lock it just feels wrong when I play it, grant it I feel the same way with BM hunter. If anyone could help me decide I mostly to WPvP/Pug raids/A small amount of rated pvp/mythic+

Only shadow for priest is being finished in 8.1, holy and disc are both completed.

it wont be fast like that at 120 btw....none of the classes are gonna play at the same pace as they do now in prepatch compared to at 120...just fyi

I don't spend as much time playing WoW as I used to and I only play up to Normal Raids and Heroic Dungeons, so I have plenty of time to gear up more than one or two characters.

Even with GCD changes, I decided to go with a ranged spec since whole of Legion I exclusively played melee ones. Settled finally with Frost mage and Balance druid. Loving both right now.

I'm still uncertain. Boosted a hunter which is quite enjoyable right now, but might be a little too simple when played all day every day. On the other side is rogue, which honestly is just fun right now, but also stupidly OP which might factor into it. I liked my rogue across all off legion, so I might stick with it. High mobility, high burst subtlety rogue (now with working shadow clones), Good flowing AoE monster with some nice RNG sprinkled in for outlaw. And single target tunnel vision "melee dotlock" for assa, which seems to dismember targets really reliably, which comes in handy for pvp :)
I have bounced around from rogue to warrior, then Hunter and back to warrior. But I've decided on Havok DH and will probably pick up Fury/Arms Warrior after that.
I really enjoyed this video. Has given me some things to think about. But my decision for a main still feels hard. I want to main a healer but am unsure of which one out of Holy priest, Holy Paladin, or Mistweaver. They all have strengths and weaknesses and I can't seem to pinpoint which one I prefer.
Definitely my favorite WoW content creator right now.
I'm having a hard time deciding what to main next. I'm leaning towards demonology warlock since I've mained a Warlock since I started back in wrath. But I'm also partial to Fury Warrior and Fire Mage. It's not going to be easy to decide at least until 8.1, when Shadow Priests get changed.

Honestly I'd just suggest playing a class you like and know how to play. Even if it may not be better than other classes. Cause there's nothing that's more of a hassle than trying to learn a new class at a new xpack. Believe me, I've been there. At the end of the day I just stuck with playing the pally as I always have since vanilla. Even though it may not be the best class right now and in legion I'm still able to make it work cause I just know the class that we'll and I'm used to all of its play styles, strategies and rotations and talent selections. It makes it just way easier for me. Definitely saves me the headache of trying to adjust a new class to bfa cause there goes a lot of thinking planning and play testing into it.

Glad to see you made your choice! Even after all this time, I'm still torn on what I'm going to play.
It's funny, I leveled a Velf Warlock for the heritage armor a several months ago with the intention of making it my main for BfA. I mained a fire mage in Legion, which I really enjoyed for the most part (minus getting the bracers as my 2nd to last legendary).
I have to admit, as of right now the three warlock specs aren't really doing it for me. Demo being dead last for raid DPS is lame (may change at 120, but that's not what I've heard from beta/PTR). The deathbolt Affliction playstyle is a little too micromanagement-y for my taste, and Destruction is boring outside of it's 3 minute DPS cooldown. On top of that, their mobility is nonexistent and most of their "tankiness" has gone out the window.
I recently boosted a Belf Paladin and hit the ground running to gear him up super quick to get through the mage tower. I like healing and having the significantly shorter queues is really nice when I only get an hour or two to play during the work week. While ret isn't the absolute most fun melee spec, it's still enjoyable for me. Paladins also have awesome lore and awesome xmogs. So now he's in the running.
After all that, I dusted off my mage to update her talents with the prepatch. I still quite enjoy Fire, despite having to choose between Flame on vs Phoenix Flames. I didn't touch Frost much in Legion, but I'd likely swap to it for BfA. I still need to practice the rotation quite a bit (especially Glacial Spike) but after feeling a little disappointed with Warlock I'm thinking about returning to my OG main...

Used to play Enhancement Shaman, but I don't think I will in BFA. If I just want to do M+, what should I choose? Mage or lock?
I am also thinking about maining a mage, while playing a warrior as an alt maybe. The only problem I have is that I love doing some pvp here and there. It's a problem because I still don't know how to deal with melees in BfA. In Legion I just switched to arcane when joining a pvp battleground, with it's three blinks and all I could deal with most melee speccs, or annoy them long enough so they moved on to another target. BfA however offers just two blinks and every time I tried it in pvp I basically just got wasted.
So.. long story short: I love mages when it comes to dungeons and raids because they are one of these ranged classes that can be played with ease because they are straight forward. PvP however might be an issue because I can't see me winning against rogues or warriors :(

Strong, fat hits, slow and easy going rotation... yes why not. Besides you can always go and sniff two lines of coke and play furry.
Fury is a bit weird at first switching from arms but once you learn to keep WW buff up it’s ridiculous and the GCD doesn’t even exist if you have enough haste

I like big flashy action bars! Can’t decide between Enh Sham (the gamble) Fury Warrior (Blizzs favorite melee) or outlaw pirate (probably most viable for M+). I know that pirate and war are the safe picks but I’ve always loved Shams and I hope blizz gives us a good rework but I still have scars from past reworks of shaman :/

thanks for the video and you content. I'm between mage or warlock as a main. Fury warrior is set as my alt. Like you I'm liking the mage for mobility but prefer the warlock for it's theme and play style.
Played mage on legion, it was fun but i hated rune of power. U had to get uninterrupted burn phase or your DPS would suck for that fight. BM Hunter is so much fun since u can keep moving without DPS loss and surv Hunter is very unique spec overall.
i used to main MM Hunter in Legion wich i never had a problem with, but the new hunter just feels bad to me, same with warlock and mage so i decided to main Demon Hunter, wich is such a fun class for both DPS and Tank
I'm personally wanting 3 classes and my list is looking like mage>druid=rogue>DK=Paladin
Rough decision for me since I like a small option to tank not sure how often I'll do it, I mostly want to range. My Main will most likely be mage, but I love stealthing so in tempted to go druid since I like balance druid however feral feels crappy to me. I don't want to play druid for literally only one spec. So, I want to have a rogue alt they are really fun. Then the option between DK and paladin is rough. I like both. I love the lore and aesthetics. I'm more of a shield person but it's not deal breaking. I don't know if having 2 melee dps specs for DK is good since it would be my 3rd character. So it will be more for its transmog from bfa. I like both classes for that. I'm not sure how to place all these or going 4 classes...
Affli Warlock is still the best choice...with the Affli Warlock you can do EVERYTHING... even solo. Sec choice would be BM...thats Logical...third class could be the Illidari-Tank...also nearly invincible ^^
My two Mains will be the Affli-Warlock AND the Hunter-BM...cause i simply cant choose between them...i love both classes...i started WOW with my Hunter-BM...and i played the Affli Warlock Long before "it was cool" ^^

After healing for 11 years, and tanking the last tier of Legion because of reasons, I find myself really wanting to dps. Warrior or rogue are what I enjoy the most, but going into an expansion without my usual healer class main is turning out to be very difficult for me. 😬

They've stated they are not looking to add a new tier of talents or even base abilities for the near future, maybe in a later expansion but nothing planned. Sucks but hopefully Azerite armor gets better over the course of the xpac, that's where I am putting my hopes on.

I want to main dps for sure and i have my choice down to either spriest or mage and i cant decide. i dont like arcane of mage but the other 2 specs are cool and i love spriest. im afraid spriest will get rekt in 8.1 changes so im sorta hesitant. i also like the lore and feel of the flavor of the mage more. its a really tough choice lol
I've played Guardian druid since the middle of SoO, which is a fairly long time. Its not looking terrible in BFA, but I'm just not hyped at all to be honest. I wanna try something new.
Currently thinking of going Mage myself, I like all the utility the mage has, the portals, the food, the int buff, the buffsteal, the curse removal, the interupt, the mobility, the ice block etc. I look at my druid and its attributes seem to be 'has lots of HP' while the mage seems to have much more going for it.
I even like Arcane most, dunno it just feels best. Fire seems kinda boring to me, seems like its the most cookie cutter.

since im mainly pvper, i wanted something cool, fresh and rewarding if played correctly .. and yes Blizzard gave me that :) Surivval hunter, after maining Ret pala since TBC i went to surv hunt and i absolutely love it, its utility,mobility, constant dmg :)

I prefer ranged dps, but I can't have a main that doesn't have a tanks spec. The only class that can do both is a druid, but as much as I like balance, bear is probably the most boring tank to play in the game (sure they are good at the job, but just so boring to play). So for melee dps I really am liking the unholy DK, but I tried some blood tanking the other day and it is bad. VDH is probably the most fun tank, jumping around everywhere and spamming sigils and Havoc is simple but at least has good visuals. So looks like DH it is.
P.S. if Blizz would give Shaman a tank spec, I'd be all over that class.
Honestly, Havoc with Momentum is great fun. At first I despised it, but the high movement play style and trying to optimize the Momentum window is actually really engaging!

I joined wow a few months ago and i’m currently level 70, i still have a level 100 and level 110 boost which i’m saving. However, i’m confused about artifact weapons, can i still get my weapon when i reach the correct level??
Yes, you'll get your artifact weapon as you play through the Legion story line. It won't have all the traits that you would have had if you played during the expansion but you will still be getting relics to put into your artifact to bump up it's item level which makes it more effective.

the theme of the warlock is so much cooler to me but I also can't seem to stand destro lock it just feels wrong when I play it, grant it I feel the same way with BM hunter.
