Do you have a preferred switch from them?
@@herrmiggins3809 I've tried the whole WS line, yellow is my preferred but they are all good
Have you ever tried lavender switches?
How they feel?
@@kokorosoloxever5634 Akkos? I like em, smooth when lubed
As a person who has their custom key oard with like 12 different switch types littered throughout their keyboard, it honestly starts to blend in together after you've used it for months.
that sounds so vile ngl
@@Tyreinnswitchalgamation
that is so cursed
@@astronautcheems7680 Again, the sounds just blend together once you use it for a week+.
@@thebravo8963 But it feels different
Even basic cheap Akkos have the option of pre-lubed. What a time to be alive.
Couldn't find the option for prelubed jelly purples sadly but honestly they feel just right for me despite being stock
I heard that manually lubing your switches is better than buying pre lubed ones
The factory lubes are always scratchy. Always.
@@AlkaVirus wdym by that?🤔🤔
@@tarragoni4161 because of the way factory lube is applied it doesn't give the optimal smooth feel. So no I don't think factory lube is a good option especially for an enthusiast hobby like this. Noone buys switches for their keyboard and settles for second best sound and feel instead of just manually lubing for the ultimate sound and feel.
"Not really different sizes though"
Glarses: hold my reasonably sized keyboard
XD
The gateron oil kings are so well lubed that its generally not even recommended to try relubing them yourself cus youd probably just waste time.
I just lubed mine and it def was worth my time.
Stock it had a bit of a clack for me since I had a Alu plate.
Lubed them up and the higher tone clack is pretty much all gone and more deeper sounding.
@@xXAsunaxKiritoXx It likely does improve the keys a little bit. Though, its probably better to not buy them in the first place if youre going to lube them.
I was already dead set on lubing them. I had set my choice of either durock poms or oil kings and oils came into fruitition after finding a killer deal.
My spare keebs with lubed milky yellows, I like them but wanted to try other things.
Might consider durock poms next
What a bunch of kid incels 😂 grow up guys, there's more to life than playing with your keyboard like a mentally challenged person @@xXAsunaxKiritoXx
I installed some of your beloved Morandi today in my main keyboard and thus far I'm very impressed! Silky smooth and I love the sound!
Wuque is also the name of an older 4x4 speed cube from the brand qiyi
the buggy launch was definitely a big big bummer! Will have to hold out for Kyber v2!
I personally really like Outemu's prelubed ''Milky'' line, as well as the silent line.
Just ordered the silent linears. I’m curious since I’ve never really liked lineages but they’re cheap and prelubed so we’ll see how it goes
What brand?
how does it feel? i have brown gateron not lubed, feels nice since its my first mechanical lol
Those clear ones I believe are redrafting pandas. I built my first keyboard yesterday. I went to micro center and I got an inland gaming my pro 75 percent with the redragon pandas and some blue and white as a profile keycaps. I love the build
My WS blacks ended up needing spring lubed and leaf spring lubed had so much ping.
Wuque silent tactiles were very scratchy pre-lubed
'Not really all sizes' /every enthousiast thinking of the enormous clicky Switch
Personally, I use Varmillos EC Daisy switch's since they are extremely light. Helps with my arthritis.
"woo-chay"
Thanks I’m thinking about making my own keyboard and I have realized the keyboard I’ve gotten this Christmas sounds super springy compared to before
Love my Morandis, and just picked up some Heavy Tactiles for the work board
I didn’t know John Mulaney was into keyboards
"All keyboard switches are the same" - wrong
"All MODERN keyboard switches are the same" - 95% correct
5% because although the list is really short there are manufacturers that are coming up with actually new design and reviving good retro designs instead of just manufacturing billion different variations of cherry mx with little to no difference
the 5% are hall effect
based
people never try anything other than the same 1000 /switches where the only difference is spring weight and material and then say that theres not enough variety lol
besides one of my orders off amazon missing some switches (blue bag they came in wasn't closed guessing they fell out in the warehouse) pretty happy with WS reds and yellows (yellows are a bit light for my preference), haven't tried the WS heavy tactiles yet
How do I fix my switches being spring pingy??I don’t think they are removable
Aurora switch but change out the stem for the heavy tactile for WS and it’s just like a light switch going down and return bump. Cool unique feel if you want to Frankenswitch for rgb silent tactile 🤓
Never mess with the factory lube of SWK.
I wish there were keyboard makers who specialized is deitfhes that could be different sizes to fit different form factors
I feel like the switches are the primary sound generator and all other components mostly dampen or amplify the switch's initial sound. That's why they are most important.
I was always amazed that many our keyboard-hobbyists think that they know better than engineers who design switches and continue to lube them
how do you not get bored of this
Very carefully.
so basicly im planing on getting hippo linear switches is it a good idea
Plz try the akko 3068b plus
I use the razer mechanical yellow switch!
switch goes down switch goes up fogetaboutit
You know what is funny? I got some akko cs piano switches and i found that the pre lubed was better than hand lubed
I’m gunna eat some red switches rn
Why is everyone getting this video 10 months later
Can anyone tell me the difference and name of the switches that come with the walls around them and those that don't?
Nobody ever thought all switches were the same
Lube 😳🧐
Stem vs box is also a factor.
Can you recommend a switch that's a better version of the mx blue? I like that it's lightweight and clicky. I have cream blue v3 and they are heavier and not clicky feeling
What keycaps fit what keyswitches?
Lol you said lubed.
my keyboard with 3 different switches in it kind of makes them blend in, after like a month or 2 you kinda don't feel the difference if you're typing hard enough tbh
In my opinion, pre-lubed switches are still worse than hand-lubed switches.
I just started getting interested in building custom keyboards and I woulr like ask "What is the best keyswitch for thock?" And also "Is it better getting factory lubed switches or hand lube it?"
The switch will have little to do with thock. You want thicker keycaps and the most prominent thock comes from plastic cases
@@SamLoki I just bought a nicepby keycap set, is it good for thock?
Beans
Is WS a sponsor of yours?
can it fit on outemu socket?
saying theyre all the same is like saying why get optical or mechanical switches cuz theyre the same as membrane, while they do the EXACT same job, they’re completely different
i lubed my silent switches and they sound and feel the same as unlubed??!? how is that even possible
what keyca[s fit the morandis?
I got ws morandi's and factory lube was horrible.
I hope I never start to care about lubed switches. It seems like yet another layer of work to maintain an acceptable keyboard.
What switches do you recommend for a gaming keyboard that are pre-lubed
Speed switches might feel the best to some people, but really any switch that you enjoy works for gaming
If you don't wanna go the wooting route for analog switches, I'd suggest a light linear of some kind. Because there's not much force required to press them down, you'll be able to react to things quickly and won't feel fatigued after hours of gaming
I like speeds and reds. I have been buying yellows which are like a stiffer red and they are really nice for typing might be ok.
The ROG NX red switches I really really enjoy for gaming. They come pre-lubed, sound amazing, feel amazing, and are great for gaming
The keebhut tropical water switches have a long pole meaning a shorter bottom out giving you that “fast” feeling.
The ttc gold pinks have a very light spring which allows you to press down faster.
Both are immaculate out of the box and don’t cross $40 in price (assuming you get 70 switches)
what about akko lubed switches? thinking of picking up some lubed jelly blacks
I have the jelly blacks and other akko switches. They have a poppy clacvky sound that's kind of inconsistent and ever present in their linears and tactiles, and i heavily dislike it. It's really bad in plastic or hollow boards. I recommend gat milky yellows for budget, though the DK Halu Halo switches are pretty good too, but you have to lube these yourself. Highly recommend, the halu Halo switches have a pleasant upstroke and deeper sound than the milky yellows.
I am more into tactiles, and i only have akko jelly blacks, Milky yellows, and halu Halo. The halu Halo are my favorite by far for smoothness and having a pleasant sound.
I highly recommend staying away from preluded switches that are budget. Higher quality pre lube jobs are leagues better and cost more. My experience with wuque studios is not great, very loud inconsistent switches.
For tactiles i go for more expensive options that aren't bank breaking but not budget. The gab between budget and average pricing is crazy but the jump from average to super expensive switches is very hit or miss. For tactiles i love the DK strawberry milk switches (they have a linear version!!!!). Very 'thocky' sound if you're into that. I like them in a poppier clackier build for a more interesting sound, that has good mids.
After a clicky period I am interested to try tactiles and linears (probably linears, reason I didn't like clicky so much is because I first hear the click then the bottom-out too and I think tactiles will be the same), and it's just impossible to know what to get. I thought I would order some samples of well-reviewed switches, but what I wonder is should I go for pre-lubed switches only? Or am I missing out then?
Well first of all a tactile switch will sound just like a linear but with a louder top out sound. You don’t hear the “click” before you bottom out on tactiles.
Most people including me despise lubing switches. It is one of if not the most tedious part of keyboard building. There are people who find it relaxing but if you aren’t the type to like slow and repetitive motions then lubing isn’t for you. Plus factory lube these days are on par with hand lubed switches so it’s not necessary unless you’re getting an old gen switch (anything released before 2022)
@@obsidianquill7949 Thanks for the tips! What I ended up doing in the end is order lots of popular switch samples (mostly linears), see if I like them, and then get lots of switches of the one I like the most regardless if it needs lubing or not, and in the end I would decide whether or not I would lube those switches.
I think I can do it, and I kind of want to try it. Even if it might end up taking more than one day, haha.
Guess what Hipyo, it’s day 9. Day 9 of what you ask? Well I’m glad you asked. It’s day 9 of asking for a Temu keyboard vid 😳 and you may be thinking, “when will this very cool guy stop asking?” And the answer is: never until it happens 😳
kewl
Lube
can i use wd40 to lube em?
actually all switches are different and not the same at all.. that being said, i could be wrong if you just dont use the board. linears, tactile, clicky, different actuation forces all matter after extensive use during a session.
as a rhythm player, i can say that every single of our fingers, as well as our wrist all have different properties and needs. i can play with linear for speed, tactile for better feeling, but clicky is a bane. thanks
Keyboard but every key is a different switch
You should start mentioning the sponsor/affiliate at the start of the short. I don't like being jebaited, and neither do other viewers.
They didn't sponsor this short but I understand wanting to know when something is an affiliate. At least for a little transparency, I try to have an affiliate for literally every product I look at, if I like it or not because of how subjective keyboards are.
I do just genuinely love the WS line of switches, I've personally bought over 1000 of them.
I just lubed my switches and it is so fun + waisting my fucking time
i love you mau
Bro these switches go for like 8$ for 18 they are expensive as shit
all switches are the same? bruh in what case is this true I know I just now got into this hobby but that claim sounds very wrong. I got a cheap amazon keyboard and moded the whole thing got new switches (akko Jelly Blacks) and they sounded so much better and felt better than cheap amazon blue switches. all keyboards sound different because of the switches. so what do you mean by all switches are the same?
heh, jokes on you since I'm a heavy headed typer the only really comfortable switches to me are box clicky, lube means nothing to do them mwahahahaha
Nah they ain't. My blue clicky switches helps me drown out that irritating voice in my head. Don't think silent switches can help me achieve that objective.
"lubing" switches 💀💀💀
Its legit lube. What else should he say?
@@edenmorningstar.7865 you know what lubing *really* is 💀💀
The alien giant switches are bigger
Okey, I have one question! I have bought Epomaker keyboard, and their flaming switched are dying like today's teenagers will to live. Can someone tell me if these switched will work for at very least 2 years?
Most switches are supposed to work for 50+ million key presses which is definitely more than 2 years even with HEAVY use
ALPS are slightly taller than MX.
there are many many many sizes. he seems to just be talking about line MX style switches
TRY HMX
oversimplfied
Jesus is King Amen God bless us all Amen
all keyboard switches are teh same
can i have a free good keyboard [;e
This video is boring, thats why your not getting a lot of likes, make it more general to people that arent geeks
It’s informative
