$150 builds are considered budget, but actually it's $200 just to get the lube, tools, films, switch opener, because the dude (every youtuber) in the video did not specify what he actually spent in order to make it sound and feel like in the video.
I can tell you cost is not a factor for those that buy it. I bought Cyberboard R3, the previous round and I can tell you compared to a retail bought keyboard there is no comparison. I do not recommend buying the built edition, unless you want the keycaps or switches or if AM offered the soldered pcb with the switches pre-soldered. The base model allows you to put in your own switches and keycaps with out having to pay an additional 200$ for stuff you don't want or need. The board is insanely high build quality. It is unique in keyboards thanks to its huge LED array display and if you are not someone who like to carry or own guns, this is a great substitute because it could certainly stop the majority of commonly used bullets in petty/small crimes and it could also fight back and crush a skull in. What I am saying is, even at $800 before shipping and shit, it is incredibly worth it. Not many boards are as unique and fun to type on as the Cyberboard. But..... If you really fall down the custom keyboard rabbit hole... might I suggest you find yourself a Hatsu. Its basically 2x the cost of the cyberboard and is about as perfect a wireless split ergo full of sex appeal a keyboard can be. It really is like playing god when typing on the Hatsu. =)

Yeah, I'm really not sure what's more disgusting. The fact they charge so much for so little, or the fact people actually pay it just to say they own one. Does it look nice? I think so. But there's no excuse for how mediocre this board is for the absurd price.
you're on track, especially considering that you can get a Dry Studio Black Diamond 75 fpr $300 (if you're going for "the look") that (to be fair) also uses the ali caps but performs more than decent on the other parts.
Hipyo... gasket mounting isnt meant for the "flex" its to isolate the plate from the rest of the keyboard, so that theres no weird resonant sounds. idk why people keep talking about the gasket "performance" like its only implemented to make the keyboard more flexible... cmon...
I used to be interested in Angrymiao products until I realized they do NFTs. I now don't care about any of their stuff anymore unless they stop doing them.
As an owner of the original V1 I can easily say this is my pride and joy. The build, sound, self-charging mat, playing around with the LEDs all bring me great joy. It’s just soooo, well, not boring.
NGL the keycaps drew me to this video, currently deciding if I should go for translucent/transparent keycaps, despite their gloss... and the one that ticks most boxes (so far) is the Akko ASA Clears. But man, I do got some sweaty (and oily) hands sometimes, despite having a supply of rubbing alcohol/hand sanitizer that I often use, and washing my hands in warm water and soap.
If you happen upon any more $800 keyboards with plastic stickers on them: I learned you can use acetone to disolve the remaining residue after peeling them off almost instantaneously =)
I love it, and I have no problem paying top dollar for top tier engineering and design, especially when it's avant-garde like this. Just badass, almost bordering on unnecessary, I love it so much
If you use a little WD-40 on a paper towel, after peeling the sticker off the WD-40 will take the remanence of WITHOUT any oil left and it wont stain or hurt the plastic. I use to use it on the sticker for my hot wheel collection.
Gonna share this to my friend who's considering purchasing one from angrymiao. Man, that gasket sucks .... Tho personally i prefer a stable and not-so-bouncy gasket keyboard. Ur video helped me a lot and just love the way u tell the truth. Thx!

$600 barebones with plastic body is wild. I know it designed that way to make the RGB shine through it, but still it is plastic and $600... It also sounds cheap with those switches and keycaps.
You probably won’t understand people buying this. It’s like trying to understand people who buy tgrs or keycults aftermarket. While those boards are good, are they worth the 2-4k they go for? Edit: also for uniqueness
Bruh, look up the "Optimus Maximus keyboard" from the mid-2000s. It was being developed by a Russian design studio and each and every key cap was to have its own tiny OLED display. Theoretically, this meant that each could be programmed with custom images, capable of displaying any conceivable keyboard layout in any language. Unfortunately, it turned out to be vapourware. Smaller keypads eventually saw the light of day, but they were buggy and had some high CPU usage. The original keyboard, had it actually been released, would have been $1600.
