thank you so much for this video! Really helps me to decide which one to buy. And that back to back sound comparison is just what we really need! thank you once again!
I've purchased so many different Akko switches this year and just love them all. The feel fantastic and most are very loud truly bringing out some sound in many of my very muted board. The Piano Pros are definitely my favorite but I would love to get some of the originals that are a little deeper than the V3 but can't find them anywhere! Great review, glad you guys are carrying them now!
Slight correction in 4:34 because Akko already previously dipped their toes into the silent switch realm with the Haze Pinks. The Penguins and Fairies are more silent than their predecessor, in exchange for a slightly mushier feel. Other than that, great video as always 👍
You're doing the lord's work with these comparison videos 🙏 thank you so much!!
Yall are absolute savers to new commers to the hobby!
I love your job dude, keep doing it!
Thanks for the video. I have ordered the Penguin switches 2 weeks ago, they must be pretty popular since the delivery time is about a month :D
I just got my first mechanical keyboard, and it comes with the cream yellows already installed. I'm excited to try them myself, and judging from this I won't even want to switch them for another switch.
The akko fairy sounds like a iPhone/iPad mini keyboard, I’ve always loved its sound.
This was extremely helpful. I have the aula 75 with the leobog Ice veins. They are so light that I'm having way too many accidental presses when typing. I went ahead and ordered the Matchas after watching the video multiple times. Looking forward to seeing if they help keep roughly the same sound profile, with a feel that works better for me.
I've purchased various Akko tactiles over the past couple of years and been happy with all of them. Decided to try something different with a new build but if the switches end up feeling too 'heavy' I'll probably go back to Akko. Really great sound vs price vs performance if you are more budget oriented than perfection oriented.
this video changed my vision about which one to buy
thanks, bud
Thanx! Maximum information in minimal time. Rare in modern times :)
very detail video, thank you, I pick CS Piano as my alphabet switchs
Thank you so much for this! This review is really helping me since I was having trouble choosing a switch. The options are now down to two for me, the piano pros or cream blacks. (I personally like a clackier or poppier sound)
The most underrated keyboard channel
Let him cook…
Agreed
Fr
True
I ordered 45 lavender purples just because they were tactile and purple and akko. I'm still waiting on them, so this was really reassuring to me lol
The 3:2 aspect ratio is an interesting style choice. What made you go with that for this project?
Those piano switches are heaven
I realized I liked tactile switches with my cream blues. Love the sharp clack and the tactile bump is 🫶
I just discovered this channel and the website, along with the incredibly helpful 10 switch test, you guys manage to be my number 1 choice as I'm getting into the hobby. I'm trying to get into customizing a simple Keychron V5, and am trying to decide between the Akko v3 yellows, v3 pianos, and KTT cabbage tofu.
Happy trying and deciding
i got the v1 and akko v3 cream yellows and i personally like them but this hobby is all preference
true that@@KazuiK123
I went with the v3 cream black pros, every video I've seen on them say they're a deeper sounding cream yellow. IMO the pianos had a pingy sound to them when I was watching reviews. I think Cream yellow, cream black, matcha green, lavender purple and cream blue are the best sounding ones.
I have tried Yellow Pros and Tofus. Stock Akko yellows are already really smooth and they don't even need to be lubed. But, I don't rlly like how they sound tbh. For Cabbage Tofu, these switches definitely need to be lubed. Stock ones are noticeably scratchy and have spring crunches. But, after lubing, they are so nice to type on. (one of my favorite switches ). They also have low pitch and sound nice and creamy. just my opinion
How this video have so little views 😮 excellent quality keep up the good work 👍
what mods were used on the keyboard used for the sound tests in this video?
I’m personally a fan of the Piano Pro! :) Great video!
They are soo good man
Are they ok stock? Don't have the time to lube them honestly.
thank u dude!
Nice vid mate
Are cream blacks and yellows exactly the same besides the spring? If so why are the blacks more expensive
Really digging into the KTT Pines, you should do a video with your feelings on those soon.
I'll put them on my list!
is there a way to make the spacebar not sound so different or loud? or is that just something you have to deal with?
great vid! Wish you included v3 Cream Blue in the comparison
It's in there!
@@milktoothnu oops you're right
I've been using Cream Yellow V3 for a year now, should I change to Akko Piano pro?
i love the creamy yellows
whats the differences betwenn pros and jellys sivler? i dont understand is this a differnet brand?
does the cream black pro fit into outemu slots?
Is every 5 pin switches compatible with eachother?
I have an akko 5075B Plus, and i dont know what kind of switches can i replace.
my partner got the fairies as we both like silent switches and hate clackiness and I got the penguins. I love the penguins. she realized she doesn't like linear switches and got some durock silent shrimps. she really likes them. compared to the penguins the silent shrimps require a bit more effort to push and have more of a tactile bump and are less squishy on the bottom. I prefer the penguins because they have a lower tactile bump and are easier to depress, and are more silent at the bottom thanks to the squish.
Have they fixed the connectivity issues with akko boards
I would really like to know if the Akko v3 crystal pro switches cause interference with cherry profile keycaps when installing them on north-facing led boards :C
Damn this video is amazing from the start til the end
What keycaps did you use?
Do you think clipping the plastic legs ok these switches affect the sound?
Can the Akko cream yellow pro fit in reddragon k530?
The crystal switches got me
Would the creamy yellow akko v3 work on a apex pro tkl??
Hi does Milktooth ship to South Africa ??
hahaha wish I'd seen this before I built my office keeb with the fairys! not too big a fan of quite how mushy they feel, their travel distance is also super short so their slight mush is worsened. I'd used the jelly pinks and crystals before and love both (jelly pinks rest in peace lol) but I'm not as big of a fan of the fairys.
Great video, but damn bro, give us more than a few frames to pause on the summary slides at the end 😂
I'm in the limbo, I want to make my keyboard to sound Creamy and pleasent when I write something but also thock and creamy, at first I thought about the Cream Yellow Pro but now I think I'm loving a bit the Penguins but I want Linear switches (I don't like at all the tactiles switches, because I have Outemu Blue Switches and they sound so loud)
gateron, epomaker, and akko, are litteraly the 3 deities. their products are just the best, from boards to switches. the absolute pinnacle of keebs world.
which are best for fps games?
what’s the thockiest switch? (Deep clicking noise)
Thanks for the video, these are very helpful. Definitely highly considering penguins, fairies, and gat milky/clear 3.0 yellows.
How would you say the penguins and fairies compare to other silent switches in terms of switch feel/mushiness? (wuque, U4, silent alpaca, etc.)
The Wuque ones are the least mushy since they use a cutout silencing mechanism instead of traditional dampeners. I talk about them more here: th-cam.com/video/ClkOYVyMCmw/w-d-xo.html
Tried Akko Penguins as I wanted silent tactile. Alas these are quite mushy (due to the dampening material used to silence the keystrokes), not as snappy as most other tactile switches I've used, and I don't like the sound signature (it's quiet but there is still sound which I cannot consider pleasant) and feeling. They're also much more scratchy compared to my daily switches (hand-lubricated Boba U4T, not silent but tacticle). Didn't bother lubricated Penguins as there are so many cons in my opinion. Besides reviewers telling that these are already good in this regard...so IDK, they're awful switches, better not to waste money and get Boba U4 (silent ones). Much more expensive but worth every cent.
Akko was the first brand of switches I bought when I dipped my toes into the hobby back in 2021. Having only tried Kailh Speed Silvers in my EVGA Z15, CS Jelly Blacks blew my mind 😅 I still to this day buy their switches. Great comparison!
I have the Penguins and I love them. I want a transparent housing anyway to Frankenstein this or an alternative
Crystal sounds so goddamn satisfying
what about akko jellys?
I found the Lavender Purples too loud on my Monsgeek MG108W which has a top-mounted alum plate. They fare better on gasket PC plates. The Pianos however were quieter and smoother but still very clacky compared to the true thockers out there like the Vertex V1 and the Epo Jade Blossoms. Notable difference between the Pianos and the Jade Blossoms on my Monsgeek M1W. I think Akko just prefers clacky because that's their thing.
Planning to buy my first Akko switches, is the V3 Pro Cream Yellow okay? For typing and above casual gaming.
yeap, its good
oh thank you for this website. Although i do need 90 pieces.....
How about aAkko POM switches?
the penguins are so so quiet that I can't even hear them with max volume on my crappy laptop 🤣🤣
Can you ship to England
don't mind my timestamps lol
cream yellow pro 2:00
cream blue pro 2:04
silver pro 4:04
Are the V3 Matcha Green Pro switches compatible with the hot swapabble rk61 keyboard?
Edit: Do you think it would sound good and perform good as well, or would I have to do my own mods to it? I prefer to do as little work as possible.
The V3 Matcha Green Pros are compatible with the RK61. As noted in the video they're great stock.
Thank you thank you! I am ordering them as we speak from your website. Thanks lots for offering good prices and shipping (times and price)@@milktoothnu
The pianos shown in the video are not the Pros, but that is what you labeled them. Can you clarify? I don't see the dust proof stem? Other videos make it sound like the OG Cream Yellows and OG Pianos sound different than their Pro counterparts. What do you think?
The newest Pianos do not have dust proof stems.
I think that at 5:10 is the Fairy. Because Fairy is linear and penguin tactile.
The space bar kind of ruined a lot of the sound tests for the quieter keys, just kept hearing the clack from that
ah yes fellow Lav Purple enjoyer
yow akko peguin is muted ? dang i need that hahahah
i use akko lavender on my main keyboard and gonna get the penguins for my gaming keyboard
6:16 wait, the quietest switches- penguin and fairy - are the Thockiest switches? if i want a Thocky keyboard i need to by either of the 2 switches?
it probably means its the most ‘thockiest’ because the ‘clacky’ higher register sounds are completely muted. if you want a thockier keyboard then dont get a silent switch.
ahhh.. Tkx man! Really appreciate it@@sillyk2549
Hey. I love your cow-dog.
which one is quieter out of the fairies and the penguins?
Can I use these on a Corsair k70 keyboard
Unless you solder
bro the penguins make absolutely no sound at all 💀
Their silent switches
i need ice cream pink switches review :(
tactile for me
Do they work on redragon?
If your Keyboard is Hotswappable so yes
What keyboard and plate materials did you test them on? If i had to guess , looks like the NEO70
Neo70 + alu plate; no foams.
Very nice, but the typing of them was inconsistent. Some switches definitely got pressed softer than others .
Skews the sound test .
also nice vid
What switches do you prefer for gaming, from the akko switches?
These ones milktooth.nu/products/switches/silver-pro
What should I get? I’m debating on:
- AKKO V3 Cream Yellow Pro
- AKKO V3 Cream Black Pro
- AKKO V3 Silver Pro
Which one should I get?
I used to have a Red Switch Keyboard but had to buy a new one cuz it broke.
I now bought the same keyboard (RK61) but in came with Brown Switches because it was on sale.
Which one should I get from the 3 Switches I mentioned?
I want to try something different than Red Switches BUT would give me almost the same experience.
rubber domes for me 😢
have u tried the cherry mx purple
wow there's such a thing?
@@Coco-lr1sc it is by glarses
The problem is that they’re all out of stock
Not at Milktooth 😀
Silvers the best but Penguins the worst of all time
Why tf do you need sub titles in this vid???😂
Not everyone can hear 😂
