Commando and Burg Wachter, plus a new lock display [143]

- We start off with a look at a new display I built for my lock collection. Then, I tackle a small Burg Wachter and a military Commando lock. They both are quick picks - but, only after you get a feel for them. Until then, the Commando can keep you going for a long time, with no results.

Like the light tension You use for the spools/serrated pins.
Lately i have succeeded picking several locks from my naughty bucket, using light tension.
Far too many lockpicking videos recommend to use maximum possible tension...

Wow, great to hear all the way from Denmark! I appreciate the complements on the display, and on my picking. Many locks use tension to fight back. Serrated pins and sharp chambers in the plug will just combine to grab the pin and not let it move. But, too little tension is bad. Sometimes it takes a lot of work to find the sweet spot in between. It can also help to lighten tension as you are pushing up on a pin and then tighten again.
that looks great! i have not even set up a lock lab yet its all dumped on a tv tray and stacked under it! i just cant decide where to set it up and how i want it set up ! lol and it sounds like you and Gantry have a lot in common! i dont have a husband to worry about any more but i have a sister that gets a little upset when i cant do any thing with her till im done watching my favorite TH-cam lives ( lpp, se lock&key and starrylock) ! lol
Husband, Sister, it's all just titles. As long as you have a close family member you can annoy and neglect while you watch your important locksport channels! My filming area is portable, and gets set up in the kitchen each time I make a video. In between videos, picking occurs anywhere my picks are. 😃
Very smooth picking, I seem to have some difficulty with the Burg Wachters, thought I don't have a Commando,, those pins look awesome. Great shelf and cupboard you built they look very cool on display, like a piece of art. thanks for this video, cheers
Thank you so much, Pocket Women! I enjoy combining my woodworking hobby with my collecting and picking hobbies. This is my only experience with the Burg Wachters. But, at least on these, they lock right up with too much tension. Until I got used to them, I had some periods I would pick for 10 minutes and get nothing. Well designed, I would say. Darn, I've been sitting here at my computer for 2 WEEKS waiting for a new video. My wife said "I'm in the mood" and I said "NO WAY" Doug should have a new video out anytime now! So now not only do I get to see the video first, I get to leave the first comment. BTW, For some reason I'm now having to sleep in a different room than my wife....
