  • This is one you rarely encounter. This Slaymaker lock has capacity to hold a paper seal over the keyhole, preventing picking without evidence it was tampered with. I'm also picking an antique USN padlock (by Fraim) in a counter-clockwise direction.

You've found some really nice brass locks lately! Really like the first one you showed. What a neat idea.

Thanks for your comment, Gantry! I've begun to focus on unique and beautiful brass, lately. It seems to be paying off, with some very cool locks coming along. I agree, that seal padlock is cool to use.

Great video, so good to see vintage padlocks and a little history. We have a similar lock here ( England) that was used on electricity meters .
Well done on the pick on the second lock

This is cool! I just watched the LPL’s video on a similar lock, but he didn’t demonstrate what the seal looked like in use. I spent quite a while trying to find a video that did, so thank you! Very cool to learn the history. Is this a Prohibition-era lock?

Happy that I could demonstrate it. LPL's seals were genuine, and I am sure he did not want to waste one. But, it took little effort to cut out some paper for my demo. Pretty sure it is prohibition-era, yes. The name Slaymaker means it is after 1904, when they bought Slaight and before 1921, when they renamed to Fraim-Slaymaker.
