So, there seems to be a little misconception about the damage a slingshot delivers. I think most people tend to look at it like a bullet, and judge the effectiveness based upon penetration. I hunt with my slingshots, never once had any ammo actually penetrate any target I was hitting. The damage a slingshot delivers is more concussion based damage, like a baseball bat or club. Something I know from archery that probably works on this is pointing the slingshot to the sky, pulling the band back and then releasing it when you drop down towards the target. It allows you to use your back muscles to pull back the band easier. (DISCLAIMER: Don't do this if the area you're aiming at has people or someone's property on it.)
@@MikeShake you don't need to point up to the sky, its actually discouraged in archery due to the safety issues. You can start with both your hands just above your head, then bring them down to shoulder level. When you do it this way, naturally you'll be using your shoulder muscles. Alternatively, if you want to maintain your current method, the only thing you really need to change is thinking of the pulling action as a rotation instead of a pull. When you pull, you naturally use your triceps. Instead focus on the position of your elbow, and rotate it to be in alignment with your shoulders. Your body will then engage the back muscles instead.
@@MikeShake Another archery related thing is to make sure you are using your back muscles and not just your arm muscles to pull the bands back. You can try some exercises where you lock your arm in a fixed position and just pull the band/push the grip by pulling back your shoulders.
