Cracking finish straight out of the gun mate. Looks like a great product. I've just watched your Liquid Glass review but now I'm gonna have to order some of this too. Love your channel buddy. Keep these great vids coming. You don't know how much they help painters like me who've only been in the game a couple of years ;)
Thanks Matty it’s really nice to hear feedback like that and if the channel helps one person like yourself then the hours of work are worthwhile mate thankyou
After watching the video I've bought some of this lacquer from Sprayguns direct. First impressions are good, sprays nice from my ANI R160 at just over 2 bar. Thinned by 10% although still thought it could go more - maybe a different gun would atomize better, but the ANI works well with my medium sized compressor. First coat looked like the job was finished - second went on a dream, although I thought it might sag or have drip edges with the amount applied, but didn't. I've been using Upol HS, but takes ages to cure properly even with fast activator - even then you can mark it with you nail. Hoping this 'scratch resistant' lacquer will provide a fix. Thanks for your excellent videos, very informative 👍
working on a sunday....naughty...get to the pub......you need a holiday mate...cheers for the download, editing, converting, uploading and transferring...lol
+Tosh twentythree (tosh 23) haha yeah it takes some time fella but the more people like yourself comment , get involved and find these helpful then the more all those hours are worth while
+Saqib Khaliq thanks man and yes il see this car again so can keep an eye on how it looks and if anything changes il update the video but as far as i can tell from people i know theres no issue with this stuff over time
Hey Tony, great finish! I'm interested to know the temperature in your booth right now if you wouldn't mind? I've stopped painting until summer, but I'm thinking of making my own booth for more all year round use.
+Ian1044 Taylor hi the tep in our booth currently is roughly a few degrees higher than the temp outside last week i was doing a job and the booth temp was around 5-8c , you can still paint even though its cold , your base will take alot longer to flash off and when it comes to clearcoat / lacquer because its so cold in the booth you will need to warm it up after application, i usually pop the heat on for a minute or two after finishing the base to make sure its flashed off properly and also once the lacquer is dont and had around 15-20 to sit then il bake that off too
+Tonys_Refinishing Thanks Tony that's really informative, based in that I could still paint in the garage as I have a wood burner in there which I could light after the paint mist has cleared if I vent out the garage door for a while first. Taking care the flammable fumes have been vented first of course!!
+Ian1044 Taylor alsong as your very careful as far as fumes and ventilation ect you should be fine mate , but just bear in mind the stuff we use is not nice stuff and 2k based products especially arent great to use from home if you can help it
+Tonys_Refinishing yeah no worries with that mate, I have full PPE for 2k and also live very rurally (middle of nowhere!). Even make the missus keep the cats indoors when I'm painting! Want to build a booth with filtration and fans so I don't worry as much though.
Hy! Great videos! I like it when you do reviews on different products. I have a question about your spray booth, it looks like a homemade one to me, what do you use for the air extraction?
hi thanks the the feedback, yes its a home made booth at this shop extration wise is run the same as most booths really its filtered and theres a huge extraction fan that runs through ducting on the outer of the booth , for intake it has filters in the front
Hi Tony, Is there a difference between the w400 1.3 Bellaria and the W400 1.3 in relation to the finish on the varnish? Congratulations, all your works are very good.
Thanks mark , and the price was from the shopping cart on there website so it's including vat, I always like to try and get the true everyday price in if I can for products
@@TonysRefinishingTV how do you like it? I have a full sized and the mini I use at work doing pipe and the mini is pretty good. Still searching for the sweet spot on the full sized though
Hi Matt , the flg-5 is a favourite of mine but I use one for primer and have a second for base colours , for ease of use and finish I go for my Iwata over the flg , but this said the Iwata is over twice the price of the flg it's more in the league of the prolite rather than the flg , you could use the flg for clear but if the budget is there then I would go for a higher budget dedicated clear gun , like the prolite or the Iwata , the flg is a great all round gun it will do any task so I'm not knocking it its just not personally my go to gun for ease of getting the best finish from a clear that you can that's all , hope that helps
nice job as always , gonna have to try this lacquer , it has a very good shine and a finish that`s on some top end cars , i do hydro graphics and plastic dip . taz
+madihatahir hi and thankyou , ive not finished editing the video for it yet but if you have the option i would look into the liquid glass hs version of the quartz lacquer as i think you would be better with that on your hydro work it would really make the custom jobs look very nice due to the very high gloss levels
Tony.. You need contact or pay or do something to have your content in more places.. With links back to TH-cam... Your channel will be massive.... Cant keep saying this...
+Jack Peters personally Mate if done right they both give a good finish but for ultimate finish gloss level and build I would go for HS every time without fail , from now on il be keeping HS in stock and using it on all my jobs small large cheap or expensive as I prefer it by far
I will be doing full respray of my Vw t4 in my garage, is this ms clear good for a job like this? can you put 3 full coats of this without any problems like solvent po? please help me out with a opinio.
i would go for one called colomix mate its got good build and if you leave a flash off of 5 minutea or so then its good for a few coats with no issues, but i have to say doing a job that big in your garage without the proper fans ppe ect isnt a great idea
Tony I think the booth you're using isn't moving the over-spray out fast enough. I had a massive problem with basecoat being too rough and it was affecting the look as well, turns out I closed all doors and the over-spray just concentrated so much it was like a mushroom cloud. I think your booth is suffering from the same problem as what it looks like in your video, it lingers too long
Anyone spray the Glasurit 923-210 HS clear coat with Iwata W400? What are your preferred settings for getting the clear to lay out very flat without all the orange peel? Just starting spraying with the W400, but i find it a little bit orange peely when clearing with it... Im spraying around 26-28 psi, full fluid, 1.5 - 2 turns in from full fan.
Very informative video . Noticed you paint one door and go just past it rather than trying to dance the whole length of the car. Does overspray ever become an issue for you?...thanks again.....cheers
hi richard no never had an issue with it tbh aslong as your coats are still wet and open then it shouldnt really cause any overspray issues , ive never really liked going from end to end your always chasing along i find it alot easier this way but thats just my personal choice and glad your enjoying the videos too
we don't use lacquer here in the US ..well i dn't.....it seems to die back ..have to cut n buff it down the road because of fading not cost effective....are you just calling the MS 4-1 mix clear lacquer?..like you call bogging the car ... we call .mudding the car..samething
+Jaymes lacquer is a 2:1 mix , have to say the clearcoats / lacquers we use these days over here dont drop back aslong as they are either left off the gun finish , or aslong as they are polished to the proper standard there should be no need to repolish really

Are you using 1.3 or 1.4 tip with this iwata w400? With this clear how far away is the gun from the panels? Thx mate cheers

hi id say the most part is atomization the bellairia atomises the paint better in my eyes
Bellaria is 10% lighter also
Tony is the price you quote in the video plus VAT ? nice job

Hiya mate you need to be setting your gun , 2.0 bar air pressure and 1 3/4 turns open on the fan from fully closed not open
@@TonysRefinishingTV
Thank you Tony! Il give that a try today.
If you set the fan differently to that the fan is uneven mate tops two turns out on the fan but ideally 1 3/4 mate
