Thanks Paul! Super excited to check out your videos - just subbed to your channel! If there is anything you need any more information on from my videos, shoot me an email at beerwrenchkc@gmail.com.
Keep at it brother. I’m following along till the end. I am working on a 06 VW GLI with the same FSI engine. I had a blown oil pump like yours that required a new chain as well. You showed me the replacement method, so thank you.
Great job getting it back together. Thanks again for the videos. From your guidance I got my rebuild done, and my own red Audi “Lil Red” has been going strong for about a month now. I am getting ready to start my drivetrain conversion from AT/FWD to MT/AWD soon. Thanks again!
Thanks Wes! Im super thrilled that you found some value in my videos. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Let me know how the conversion goes - that looks like it'll be a hell of a project!
It really isn’t too terrible since the Quattro system is strictly mechanical. It will be a crap load of parts and wrench time. Then comes the real fun stuff. Doing the conversion so I can install some power upgrades without destroying the POS CVT they put in these. That is the part I am really dreading. Putting more boost and fuel and then fighting the tuning…
@@wesmartin1168 Dang Man, you are brave. Definitely do-able but ALOT of wrenching and you will be spending alot to track down parts and odds and ends - but still it will be one heck of an accomplishment when you're done.
Putting together my 07 A4 2.0t Quatro now. Different head, new valves, new pump on back of motor etc. Started it and was ticking bad like lifters weren't pumping up.I dropped balance shaft assy. 3+ yrs ago and just started putting it back together today. Been a tough one, only thing I found was the oil pu screen seemed to be clogged with carbon etc. We'll see. Lol oil pump etc looked good. I just found your channel and will follow you
Thanks Brother! Good luck with your build. It sounds like you had oil pressure issues too. Get some extra insurance and get the updated oil pump pick up tube - Audi part#: 06B115251B. If you order it from my friends at Molle Audi parts, it'll be under a $100. Also, check your oil squirters as well. My oil pressure issue was due to bad oil squirters. Here's my video on those: th-cam.com/video/ORhTQdvIvTo/w-d-xo.html If you need anything, shoot me an email at beerwrenchkc@gmail.com.
i feel for ya brother i had the same bad luck with ford's same car's different year's and guess what nothing would everything was at least a quarter off talk about being pissed well good luck my friend and never give up it will all work out in the end it did for me,
The WASA balance shaft delete is also an option to consider. Its pricey ($200) and it bumps up noise vibration and harshness (NVH) a bit but its supposed to take away a known weak point of the oil pumps. I talk about it in my oil pump video: th-cam.com/video/xNHWZNVhu5w/w-d-xo.html
Only video I’ve found that actually tracks repairs all the way to finished repair great job
Thank you Sir for the comment - glad you enjoyed watching the series of videos. The red A4 continues to soldier on in the family to this day.

Mine just died, low oil warning, noisy by oil pan. I think the balance shafts went out hopefully didn't damage the motor

Thanks Ron - ultimately we got this car fixed, but I thought the folks would enjoy seeing my experience.

@@beerwrenchgarage I was thinking about doing the 1.8T oil pump mod but kinda was thinking going stock first see if it works.

@@beerwrenchgarage Yep. I watched that video. I like that mod. I think the balance shafts failed on mine. I'm about to take it apart
