My wife and I have lived in this part of the world for a bit over 40yrs. As far as the flooding we've always had high blocks away from the worst levels but have been cut off for a number of days. I'm sure you'll be able to use your common sense and have a generator and solar panels. You'll also need a pantry of rice, soya beans and dare I say it tinned fish and some tinned vegies for variety. Long life milks of your choice along with your preferred teas and coffees. Don't treat it as "if " you get flooded in but *when* it will happen. Always keep weather eye on BOM and don't go off the block if the forecast is for lots of rain. Have fun cause we sure have, all the very best young fella !

The fact that the realtor left and the owner came home and met you and learned about your dreams for this property and how you will respect it and continue like he did and the previous owner did is miraculous! Lee was a good soul but her energy was stressed and depressed. She may have had chemical depression but it could have been situational. We won't know until we also journey beyond.
@@earthstar2493 actually, as someone who experienced depression for many reasons such as my husband and daughter dying, depression is something that comes and goes throughout life. It’s a chemical imbalance at many times. Lee had way more years of joy and adventures to fill 80yrs of living. I’m pretty certain covid quarantine/ social gathering restrictions play a big part of her challenges. She was very detached from people she loved not by her choice. However, her challenges have shined a spotlight on mental health and so many have found strength through her tragedy. I’m sure she is at peace and her spirit is connected to the ones that she loves again. 💛💛💛

I know very well that date is a very sad date. It made me stop watching any Vlogs for many months after that 😭💔 But I believe Lee is watching over both Max, Occy, as well as Eamon & Bec, Van Wives and Lee’s family. And Eamon and Bec have uttered several times that Lee is around with them all the time. I therefore also think she is also have her spirit and her everlasting love for people with Max and Occy, and so many others she met during her lifetime ❤️❤️❤️

That they are Custodians not Owners. /I also really feel the investment and commitment of the recent owner in this property. A quarter of a century of plans, trials, labour and restoration of the bush. He is passing the baton now to Max (and Occy 🎉) but I'm sure his guiding hand and spirit will remain on this land. My heart just melts for you Max. I can feel just how peaceful and quiet this land is. My husband (who is also a TH-camr in Australia)) and I did exactly the same thing you did but in 2021, in beautiful far NQ tableland region. However we are probably about 15-20 years older than you at a guess. We too moved to our piece of paradise to build an off grid property which we started living on full time in 2023, doing all the work ourselves. We also moved to our dream property with our beautiful family dog, Nala (short haired bc) but lost her in a tragic accident Oct 2023, she often cameoed in some of my hubby’s TH-cam videos. Fortunately for us we have been blessed with another bc; Pippa who has became our fur baby as we don’t have any grandkids yet. We have resonated with your story as I come from a health background working in Palliative care as an RN but now teach nursing remotely from our off grid home. We feel so blessed to be living our true lives as close to nature as possible with living off grid on a property similar size to yours. It is amazing how our lives can turn out. By moving to our property, we feel it was meant to be as we too have met wonderful like minded people and have made wonderful friends from our community. We look forward to watching many more of your videos on building your property. We think you are doing a terrific job and appreciate you taking us along and sharing your journey. My wife and I have lived in this part of the world for a bit over 40yrs. As far as the flooding we've always had high blocks away from the worst levels but have been cut off for a number of days. I'm sure you'll be able to use your common sense and have a generator and solar panels. You'll also need a pantry of rice, soya beans and dare I say it tinned fish and some tinned vegies for variety. Long life milks of your choice along with your preferred teas and coffees. Don't treat it as "if " you get flooded in but *when* it will happen. Always keep weather eye on BOM and don't go off the block if the forecast is for lots of rain. Have fun cause we sure have, all the very best young fella !
It was for sure meant to be Max. The fact that the realtor left and the owner came home and met you and learned about your dreams for this property and how you will respect it and continue like he did and the previous owner did is miraculous! The house including the outhouse is just amazing! I cannot wait to follow this journey and watch Occy roam around his beautiful property. Lee was a good soul but her energy was stressed and depressed. She may have had chemical depression but it could have been situational. We won't know until we also journey beyond.
@@earthstar2493 actually, as someone who experienced depression for many reasons such as my husband and daughter dying, depression is something that comes and goes throughout life. It’s a chemical imbalance at many times.
Lee had way more years of joy and adventures to fill 80yrs of living. I’m pretty certain covid quarantine/ social gathering restrictions play a big part of her challenges. She was very detached from people she loved not by her choice. However, her challenges have shined a spotlight on mental health and so many have found strength through her tragedy.
I’m sure she is at peace and her spirit is connected to the ones that she loves again. 💛💛💛

Both for one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, and because I can’t imagine anyone who deserves a place like this more than you and Occy. There is no doubt in my mind that this was meant to be. It was definitely providence that you were able to spend that time with the owner. He knew exactly who he would be selling the property to.

I know very well that date is a very sad date. It made me stop watching any Vlogs for many months after that 😭💔 But I believe Lee is watching over both Max, Occy, as well as Eamon & Bec, Van Wives and Lee’s family. And Eamon and Bec have uttered several times that Lee is around with them all the time. I therefore also think she is also have her spirit and her everlasting love for people with Max and Occy, and so many others she met during her lifetime ❤️❤️❤️

A quarter of a century of plans, trials, labour and restoration of the bush. He is passing the baton now to Max (and Occy 🎉) but I'm sure his guiding hand and spirit will remain on this land. My heart just melts for you Max. I can feel just how peaceful and quiet this land is. I was a Realtor once upon a time and I found that my clients often got the deal if I wrote a beautiful letter explaining why my Buyer should get the property out of other offers that were probably similar. You made a connection with the owner who I am sure didn't want to just give it up to anyone and that is the magic that helped make this dream come true. It's made me believe that my land is waiting for me when I am ready to build again.

Oh my goodness Max. Congratulations on finding your own piece of happiness. My husband (who is also a TH-camr in Australia)) and I did exactly the same thing you did but in 2021, in beautiful far NQ tableland region. However we are probably about 15-20 years older than you at a guess. We too moved to our piece of paradise to build an off grid property which we started living on full time in 2023, doing all the work ourselves. We also moved to our dream property with our beautiful family dog, Nala (short haired bc) but lost her in a tragic accident Oct 2023, she often cameoed in some of my hubby’s TH-cam videos. Fortunately for us we have been blessed with another bc; Pippa who has became our fur baby as we don’t have any grandkids yet.
We have resonated with your story as I come from a health background working in Palliative care as an RN but now teach nursing remotely from our off grid home. We feel so blessed to be living our true lives as close to nature as possible with living off grid on a property similar size to yours. It is amazing how our lives can turn out. By moving to our property, we feel it was meant to be as we too have met wonderful like minded people and have made wonderful friends from our community. We look forward to watching many more of your videos on building your property. We think you are doing a terrific job and appreciate you taking us along and sharing your journey. You need to do nothing to that property, except add solar panels and an indoor bathroom. That cabin is simple and beautiful. I know you need to pay the bills, but don’t monetize it. You been given a gift, care for the land with your heart and soul.
