Can't wait for the merch drop, just in time for Christmas! I'm not sure I could live with all the dangerous snakes and spiders. I hope you have a good 1st aid kit. Hugs from Canada
Hi Max! Dog groomer here. Not trying to overstep, I love your channel, but if you have the chance to give Occy a proper shave down now that the weather is warming up, I can’t recommend it enough. Senior dogs have bad troubles with their mobility and their joints which only gets worse with time. Occy is glorious with all of his floof but he could have upwards of 10lbs of fur on him right now. Having that weight taken off is an incredible preventative measure for your pup’s mobility and strength moving forward. He will thank you for it. Just a suggestion ❤❤❤
Max this is a hard start to your off grid journey but don't get discouraged. It will get better. The bones of the house are not glorious to fix but there is an incredible reward to making them come back to life again. Also remember you are saving tens of thousands of dollars by doing all this work yourself. It's time consuming, dirty, and labor intensive but you are making it happen. You are doing all of this on your own so don't put too much pressure on yourself. Don't forget to reach out to your friends for support. I'm sure the VanWives would love to offer advice especially about living without indoor plumbing. We all want you to succeed. You got this. Keep going buddy!
@@MaxandOccyIt be like that. Luckily, your house isn't big and old. My parent's old brick and plaster house in northeast Missouri was built in the 1850s and definitely in disrepair, plus the freezing cold winters mean heating the house to 55°F, about 12.8°C, and heating my room to 65°F cost about $550 USD in the winter. By comparison, it's about $200 to heat my mom's 1970s house last year.
Max - seeing behind the scenes was so interesting. Snakes, spiders, leeches are so important. The birds and little paddy melons are beautiful. :) Love your piece of paradise.
I loved seeing all the wildlife in the video today! So much of our lives are not glamorous so I appreciate the behind the scenes perspective. You are such a hard worker and Occy is always there to lend a paw. 🐶Have a wonderful week. And everyone, let’s continue to prioritize our mental health.
Great video Max! Hi Occy!! 🥰 The subtle “shoutout/dig” at Eamon had my laughing out loud! 🤣 Love the banter and friendship YALL have! Can’t wait to see the shower next week! Lots of love! ❤️
I discovered your channel recently and I'm absolutely in love. Between the beautiful area you live in, the positive attitude you have, and the great cinematography this has quickly become one of my favorite channels to watch. Ironically, I both wish you made more videos and am glad you're not letting content creation rule your life like some other channels do.
Have you seen his video on his tribute to his x-girlfriend Lee? It’s a tear jerker but shows his true self. I haven’t stopped watching him since! He’s an amazing human being!
For me it's all about the balance you try to maintain in life. Meditation, workouts, walks, good food, rest, friends, family, renovating, social outings, therapy etc. Keep it up & life will flow BB 🐝
This was great content. Frankly it's what alot of us who are currently working on builds or striving/dreaming of off grid renovation need to see...this kind of presentation pulls back the glossy insta perfection depicted on social media...we appreciate the reality check and transparency thank you max
Hi Max, we're doing something similar here in southern Mexico, building off grid in a cloud forest. We run into tarantulas, scorpions and an abundance of insect and bird life. Additionally we've had our share of roofing troubles/challenges and at the end of the day we're so very grateful for this life. 😃
This was a great video Max. Seeing you and Occy doing other things on your land is just part of your life. I think the previous owner gave food to that bird, he’s always around you. Keep up the good work. Love and be safe!🤗😘🌼🇻🇪
A week ago we had to send our Chow Chow Max (Maximus Cinnamus) over the rainbow bridge. Watching your dear Occy is a healing balm to my wounded soul. Happy tears shed during your video while also enjoying the build and organization process. How do you eat an elephant? One. Bite. At. A. Time. :D
I dont think any off grid journey is easy unless you have a tonne of money. Its tough doing it alone too. Awesome job so far, Occy is the best apprentice 😊
So grand to see you and Occy today. Missed y’all and the beautiful rainforests around you, oh so blessed. Looking great Max! Sending much love and excitement for what’s to come for you🎉🎉🥰🐾
Loved this video. Suggestion: you know you can shave Occy. We did that to our Aussie late in life. It took off extra pounds, helped with her arthritis and she felt like a puppy again. She was a little more mobile and comfortable. Love you both❤❤
I know EXACTLY what you mean about finishing big projects. I recently built a cabinet that took 3 episodes and I still didn't show the final staining (the 5 percent you mentioned). And then my neighbor said: "It looked pretty easy from the video" She hadn't even thought about all the editing I had to do to get it down to a reasonable viewing length. But, I guess it comes with the territory. You're doing a great job on your projects!!

Hi Max and Occy, always love to see you two and your beautiful slice of paradise, but very happy you prioritized your mum! You are such a gentle soul. So impressed at what you are accomplishing! Your fitness challenge with Eamon.....I'm putting my money on you! LOL
A warm climate really changes the degree of effort in house construction. The outdoor well pump with hand connections just makes me smile. I need a well crane to get at mine, and the plumbing is a big job.
Thank you for this video! I am always so happy and excited when I see the notification. Big hugs to you and Occy from the opposite side of the world, Croatia in Europe! 💗👋🐶

Keep up the great work; I’ve been following you for a few years now and have really enjoyed your journey. Happy to see your new home and am eager to see where this takes you. My Sundays get better when I see a new video posted, thank you for that!!
You probably can't imagine how much I enjoy your shares....my Dad was always good at making and fixing stuff, and I got to help a lot or at least watch. He could do anything...if he didn't already know how, he would figure out how.
Love your show..i have been sick for the last 3 wks....came across Aemon and Bec,s van videos......thats also how i discovered you and occy....love your renovations and your hard work........love the colours of in your jacket...green and purple...my granddaughter Iindia,s favourite colours...she passed in 2017 and named a kookaburra that used to visit me...KENNY.....food for thought for your .Kookaburra....I'm in your neck of the woods as well......beautiful place.. cheers💜💚💜💚
We had to replace the septic system at our house last year for the same issues. Good luck! It’s a long and expensive process at least in the US but worth it 😊
Organizing is kind of my thing, been doing it since I was a toddler. If I was in Australia I’d organize your tool patio and everything for you. No outdoor shower needed.
Being a homeowner is so much fun😊😊! Love your video today..you still have a beautiful place, animals bugs etc. with your vision and hard work you will have a home that you can be proud of..and we get to cheer you on!
Wonderful to see behind scenes. This makes it more real for those who have experienced the same "perfect purchases" and gives insight to those who are dreaming of the same lifestyle. It always costs more, takes more time and effort than imagined. So just think that you bought it for the property and wonderful vegetation. Then as you get discouraged you can rationalize that all these issues can be fixed, but you will never be able to duplicate the property. For the outside shower... what about making it yourself with copper piping and a bit of lumber to support it. Also with guests you will want either a wooden blind or a piece of cloth hung between two posts for some privacy. Don't forget a hook for clothes and dry towel. Glad to see your family was able to visit.
Kookaburra’s name at first I thought it’s Eamon def. But burro “Bec”! More accurate if you don’t name the bird Fitz! Lol. Hey Tiger King! Btw was my idea! Haha ! Hug Occy! Loved seeing your Mum! Take good care of yourself! Thank you for our enjoyment watching!
Max, you need to buy bacteria bags (pre-measured little bags) to put down the toilet every now and again (for septic systems) that keep your tank healthy and it breaks down everything. We get our septic system (tank) cleaned out about every 3-4 years and there are only two of us in the house. We also have a tile field under the lawn.
Max such a beautiful setting yes you do have a piece of paradise with all its challenges totally agree with your guest room perfect 👍 so good to see you and Ocky enjoy your time with Mum and your sister. Much respect to you enjoy your time building your dream you are worth it, loved your visit to Eamon and Bec’s cabin you did a great job with Eamon. You can keep the leeches lol 🥰🥰🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍❤️❤️
What a blessing to have such beauty around you. Nature is so healimg. Im so glad to have found your channel. You inspire me to work on my mental health. On a side note, how is Occy's weight loss going?
We just bought three quarters of an acre in the country Katanning W.A and now I'm freaked out about snakes, so been googling natural snake repellent, you was so brave. 😊
Max, the deck is fantastic, it adds a wonderful element to your place. It’s like another room with a great vista. It’s always good to look behind the scenes to see the challenges of day to day life in paradise. Even though it’s a challenge now, it’s good to know each element of the property in detail, septic tank included…lol. Maybe call the kookaburra Cookie or Frank. Can’t wait for the next episode ❤
Kookie the Kookaburra seems to love your slice of paradise too! I enjoyed your bit of real life footage....we all gotta do it to keep things moving along ❤️🙌💚 Good luck with the H2o pump, and more importantly the septic😳😳 See ya next time👏👋👋👋
This is a great and realistic shot of living off grid, much appreciated. The Bundjalung name for kookaburra is gahgun, so an abbreviation of that could be cool 😊
Thank you for sharing with us Max. Nice to see that you did not forget about the main cabin, at least some of it Glad about the behind of scenes Enjoy your paradise :-)

Max, thanks for sharing and it's really nice to get a behind the scenes look at your property and what goes on there. I'd suggest paying a professional to sort your septic tank, as well as you not having to do it, they should be up to date with all the local rules and regulations. Take care ❤
I’m really enjoying your wallabies and kookaburras. That was a great shot you got of the kookaburra there. Your new patio just looks wonderful. I’m sure your guests will be very comfortable in that nice room you made for them. You’ve been working really hard and it’s showing.

Keep up the great work; I’ve been following you for a few years now and have really enjoyed your journey. Happy to see your new home and am eager to see where this takes you. My Sundays get better when I see a new video posted, thank you for that!!
Always enjoy seeing the reality of it Max. Looking forward to the merch.
Thanks Beth! 💛
You probably can't imagine how much I enjoy your shares....my Dad was always good at making and fixing stuff, and I got to help a lot or at least watch. He could do anything...if he didn't already know how, he would figure out how.
Great seeing you and Occy this morning. I have been waiting for you to start on the cabin again. Enjoyed this video ❤.
Thank you so much Connie! 💛
It surly takes a special person to live where you do. Congrats on your merch!! 😊❤
Thank you! 💛
Occy is a beautiful dog. That little kangaroo is sweet too. The snakes? Not so much. Your property has so many possibilities. Have fun.
Love and peace as always 🦘😘😘
Love watching you and Occy , your place is so amazing and beautiful. Your doing amazing work building your dream location
Thanks for sharing your beautiful land with us . Occy love the paddy melons. Your doing great work .
What a blessing to have such beauty around you. Nature is so healimg. Im so glad to have found your channel. You inspire me to work on my mental health.
On a side note, how is Occy's weight loss going?
The drone in the tree is one of your best intros ever 🤣 Occy’s doing well with the hill intervals too! Looking forward to the merch drop 💛
Bed would have to be off the floor because of snakes and a suspended bug net for the bed to keep spiders off. Love the keeping it real video! ❤ 😊
I think all the work is worth the beauty you get to wake up to each day what a blessing see you next week 😊
Nice to see that you did not forget about the main cabin, at least some of it
Glad about the behind of scenes
Enjoy your paradise :-)
Definitely haven’t forgotten about the cabin! Renovations (& permits) take time 😊
Family time is priority! Thanks for sharing the videos.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ It is so wonderful to see you & Occy. Max, you have truly done a great job with the place and it only gets better cause you're where you want to be in life. Sending you only the very best wishes for years to come, as we all witness your growth as Occy cheers on... Abrazos
you sure do live in a beautiful paradise....love seeing the local wildlife!
Nice to see behind the scenes of you and Occy! Things are progressing nicely. Happy to see you had some family time. Snakes and spiders oh my
The wildlife there is insanity!!! Also, the mullet is legit!!! Crushing it
Love the videos so much thank you for making us smile
Love that! Thank you for being part of the adventure 💛
The photography! Beauty is all around you! 😊
Thanks for the snake warning Max, appriciate it!! I have an insane fear of snakes even ones through my tv. I always cuddle a pillow when I watch your videos, in case there is a snake on screen 😂 Love what you're doing with the place!
Hahahaha the shout-out to Eamon, love it! Thank you so much for your content 🥰
Great vid, Max. Snakes are a no from me too. Can’t wait for the merch drop. Give Oc a hug and some pets from me.
A very fair no in my opinion.
So excited to potentially see someone rocking my merch!
Consider Occy pat 💛
From the States: I love all the wildlife you show us!
Max, thanks so much for the spider warning!!!! Cause I literally will have a heart attack 😬😬😬
Great video as always ❤❤
Loved the daily life video and still in absolute awe of the beauty of your land.
