Awesome log! Would have loved to see some front fills with those extras to really throw that sound! Probably overkill for this one tho ha! Sounded awesome!
Great video. What was the thinking behind lifting the PA so high? I would honestly not risk going that high wind and depending on weight of you mid/high boxes will make it super unstable. All you need is for the horns to fly over the audience heads then you will get good coverage. Keep that awesome content coming. I love it.
How would you deal with the outdoor heat? Especially with the weather going into the 105s I have some upcoming gigs outdoors and I need some help with preventing overheating the speakers!
I have the same WiFi setup. It works great. One thing I did was put some velcro on the back of the AP and on the top rear of both the left and right speakers. I slap the AP on the back of the most convent speaker with the antenna sticking above the top of the speaker, then I raise the stand. No need to carry/setup a separate stand for the WiFi and It gets the AP above the people. I also painted the AP black so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Easy setup and rock solid WiFi.
So you keep saying that you want to grow your channel, spend more time sharing the actual event with us. Seems you spend a lot of time on the load in and load out. Thanks!
Most of the people were in the back of the parking lot near the food trucks and bar. Go figure! So i used the extra height of the speakers stands to get the throw distance I needed while also respecting the client's budget. Thanks for watching!
Trim height helps these speakers throw further. Also, it takes advantage of the speakers vertical dispersion pattern (about 60 degrees) which makes being up close more comfortable from an SPL standpoint. As a bonus, height can reduce the likelihood of feedback from the "stage" Check out Michael Curtis' TH-cam Channel! He's got a great video on speaker set up and placement and explains why height is so important better than I can!
It's what I felt sounded best for this particular event. Utilize the vertical dispersion angle of the boxes, which is 60 degrees. Sounded good and client was very pleased. Check out Michael Curtis' youtube video about speaker placement for events like these. It's fantastic and explains a lot of the misconceptions people have on the topic! It might looks funny, but it sounded good! Thank for watching!
I got them off of Amazon. They are called Rhino USA Retractable Ratchet Tie Down Straps, 1" x 10' Autoretract. They are a huge time saver! Thanks for watching!
Nice setup! What's in the smaller Silver Creek Audio stacking cases? didn't see those unloaded. Wondering if down the road you can upgrade to 1 bigger case (even if it tilts up in the van) to make things easier. Since you're moving your own, Audiopile makes great stuff that works... Hard to tell, but how high are you getting the speakers? Great as so many are too low and blast people with the HF horns...
Audiopile is awesome! Our current cases are from Kangaroo Cases, a local manufacturer in Dallas, TX. We have one for XLR cables and the other is for power. Never thought of getting a bigger one and tilting it up and then ratcheting it down. That's a really great idea! As for the speaker stands, I like to get them as high as I can! I agree, too low and it is uncomfortable and overbearing. Thanks for the suggestions and watching!
I couldn't help laughing my lungs out when you spoke about cutting down music cause it is time up. I recall how i did that a couple of years ago on a wedding hosted by Church which I work for, and those getting married were both musicians. It was now 10pm and they were now singing their lungs out like it is church already. Mind you, I still had to tear down the whole system, take it back to our Church and set it up before I can call it a day. Yes, I had a couple of our volunteers with me but still !!! I just went on and killed the subs🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hate being the bad guy but a lot of places want you out by a certain time and if I don't cut it off, I will never be out of there by closing! Thanks for watching!
One question: You have one guitar player who will never even touch the mic. Why do you think you have to make sure, the mic is not feeding back when it’s pointed right at the wedge ?
Force of habit. I always ring out monitors. Also, I've had presenters or guest appearances take the mic off the stand and drop the mic towards the floor or wedge. Feedback city baby...
Hi! Greetings from Sri Lanka ! My son , 18yrs is a beginner to this field. He enjoys watching yr videos and picking up a lot of things. He is planning to purchase a Behringer X32 and RCF HDL 20 and 8004A subwoofers, 2 each together with DSP. Hope he will be able to manage small live events. Good luck!

Thanks for watching! These are currently the only speakers we have in our inventory and they definitely get the job done. However, if I were to upgrade my point source speakers, I would get QSC K12.2s.
@@SilverCreekAudioplease consider the RCF Art 932A! They’re similar in price but sound sooooo much better and throw way farther. If you have a little more to spend, consider the NX945, it’s a wood box instead of plastic, uses a 4” CD instead of 3”, so an even lower crossover point to the 15” instead of 12” woofer. Also if you don’t own subs definitely invest in at least a pair of single 18s.
In your next upgrades would love to see some LD/turbosound/EV dedicated monitor wedges and some DZRs/RCF Arts or HDL series arrays! What model EVs are these? Not sure if you have a DBX Driverack but it makes space measurement and corrections SO easy. You definitely got a new subscriber though!
