A local audio company starts a TH-cam Channel. Chaos Ensues.
PA System Setup: Can I SURVIVE this CHAOTIC Gig?
I set up a PA system in a challenging vintage arcade with concrete floors and glass walls - talk about a sound engineering nightmare! Our pa setup involved careful placement and tuning to work with this pro audio-hostile environment, while the sound system had to be configured to handle both the live band setup and the ambient arcade noise. Despite the event setup challenges in this unconventional space, we managed to create a workable solution. Make sure to like and subscribe and thanks for watching the gig log!

Love song in your Video 🎉😊
the cabling the rigging, everything you have looks immaculate n high quality... hope to see you upgrade from the ZLX Tops though!!! if your doing this type of outdoors gig i think in the EV range you should look at the ETX Series which is actually the touring range. or else maybe time to look at a small scale line array FOH like rcf hdl6A OR EVEN qsc lA8'S
You are goals 🙌🏾👌🏾👏🏾
lol sweet! Thanks for watching!
We have the same job idol😊
nice! thanks for watching dude!
Is the sonic audio quality any different in the SLX-D compared to the higher tiered QLX-D and ULX-D?
Such a very nice setup good quality equipment i wish i could own such here .even the sound car is good for the job.....ooh
Thank you! I'm really happy with the setup. Thanks for watching!
Nice bro me too one on one setting up sound system 😉😉😉
What are those power taps you are using on the front of the stage?
they're powercon drop boxes made by OA Windsor
Did you tune the PA at all? Or just ran it flat?
It's flat, no need to over complicate. Thanks for watching man!
I love your content, organization and simplicity, i don't think it's overkill at all and i think you'll go a long way with small size production and niche, I had the Ev ZLX system as well and they definitely pack a punch for their size and price, just be aware of their limitations. Keep up the good work.

Okay but why did you say this is at an EDM club… lol it’s not. This is at Texas Christian University.
At TCU, students can form clubs or students organizations through the university. This one happens to be an EDM club! It's not at an EDM club but it is for an EDM club. I can see how you could get confused though! Thanks for watching Adrian!
I'm a Dallas based photographer / videographer. Just watched this one along with several of your other BTS videos. One of the cleanest professional solo +1 rigs I've ever seen. Nice work!
Thanks for the kind words Mark! Always cool to hear from other people in the area! Thanks for watching man!
Hello, @SilverCreekAudio I saw in some of your videos a small box that apparently has speakon female and power female. I watches this video in hope to discover what is this, but you didn't listed it here. Could you explain what it's purpose?
It's a powerCON drop box for stage power. They're made by OA Windsor.
@SilverCreekAudio Thanks! Here in my location, the powercon isn't as common as speakon. Maybe in another video you can film "live audio gear I ever used but you maybe not" for people that are starting in this world.
Howdy! Live sound engineer, and bluegrass player here! I usually run sound for my bluegrass band when we play. If you find yourself running out of headroom with condenser mics, I definitely recommend running a feedback eliminator on your mains. I don't like the "live" settings on the eliminator where the eliminator tries to automatically detect feedback in a show and silence it, because it could mistake a falsetto note or high note on the fiddle for feedback. However, using the eliminator to set some fixed cuts before the show can help a lot. To set that up, first set up all the mics, then increase the volume of the PA until feedback occurs, and the eliminator will automatically apply very narrow cuts to those frequencies. The eliminators are nice because the Q on the cuts is much narrower than what you can achieve with your digital mixer, and it saves your 32-band or GEQ for tone or for bigger bands of feedback (feedback eliminator is especially good at high frequency, but you may need your mixers EQ to get rid of some of the low end feedback). I found this setup definitely helps get more headroom out of the system before feedback while still preserving good sound quality! I used a Soundcraft UI24r which has the eliminator built into to the software, but just switched to an X32 and a rackmount DBX AFS2 (which can apply more cuts than the Soundcraft software!). Let me know if this helps anyone or if you would do it a different way!
Whew! That's a kot! Nice going! By the way, what do you call the EWI console?
I would’ve pulled up right next to the stage the hell all that walking
Damn that's nice! (But get some safety shoes and wear gloves.)
Thanks for sharing this. You worth my sub
Out of curiosity, how much are you charging for a gig like this? All that gear isn't cheap, did you bootstrap this business, business loan, or investor? I started a wedding DJ and audio business in October of last year, bought everything with either money out of my own personal income or with a credit card because that's all I could do, I tried to buy the best gear on a budget I could find and its done really well so far (we are booked 1 wedding a month until December of next year and have already done 12 this year) but I would love to have this level of equipment and be able to do bigger events and band gigs, Been looking at equipment and Shure and EV and all the digital mixers are still out of reach for us. I spent a good $2600 on the DJ console and another $10K on speakers, lights, etc. But I feel like we would have to book 1 wedding every weekend for a year to afford anything this nice. I don't want to raise my prices for the packages too much because I still feel like we are not on that level but its starting to seem like we should
Semangat ya
You talk like Luke Wilson 😅 (actor, Owen Wilson's brother)
nice!
Thanks bro, it's amazing, need a setup like that one
This is even a dream as i wish to have set like this to do it on my own and in my country as a business
How much this set up? From Philippines thx frnd
Hi here Jan from the Netherlands, here in my home town Purmerend we had a Country&Bluegrasshow on local radiostation , once a month we recorded a live Bluegrass band in the studio on Sundayafternoon ( then studio was free) only 4,5,6 mic,s (Condensors) no monitors these man and women where so goodwith each other vocaly ! There was no bad words about monitors and hearing them selves , its just a joy to work with these people . They had a fantastic controle on there voices, lot of singers can,t sing without (now i,m swearing) autotune. 😅😅. It,s relax job .by the way nice condensor mic,s the have.
Hey Jan! That sounds like such a chill vibe! Love that everyone was just having a good time and jamming together. Thanks for watching the video!
The allen and heath ipad app SUCKS. thanks for the advice!
you bet! thanks for watching!
the way I laughed at this is not ok. Especially the end. Good thing you got out of dodge quick
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching dude!
Thanks for this great video! Gonna invest 10k in the SLX-D system next year!
Sweet! Thanks for watching man!
Love your videos! I always stop what I’m doing to watch them as soon as they pop up. Would love to hear how you handle power issues at venues that don’t supply adequate power for your equipment?
Thanks a ton! I’m glad you love the vids! For power issues, I usually just roll with the punches, my gear doesn't draw too much... But if there's a safety issue, an electrician gets called.
Another great video definitely the most different event you have done.
Thanks man! It was definitely a unique venue!
GREAT WORK SIR
Thanks a bunch! Glad you liked it!
can u please give us more infos about your WiFi access point? thanks

glad you enjoyed the video man! thanks for watching!

Wow...nice setup. How many zlx speaker for this setup?
I guess I’m not understanding why you would have a snake to a stage box. Why. Waste of time and added fail point. If they’re that close together, why not centrally locate your stage box? That’s what 10-15-20 foot cables are for. Instead, you have 100’ of snake, or multiple snakes “hiding” somewhere. And it has to be wrapped back up and you have to carry it. Not like you have a splitter. Makes my back hurt. Plus, you seem to have 25’ mic cables barely unraveled having to ‘hide” those as well. Isn’t that what stage boxes try to eliminate? Seriously, if that is how you do it, then more power to you. You do you. I’m all about the out, though.
Unlike the DL8, SD8 and SD16, the DL32s are not designed to be utilized on stage, but designed to be put in a rack backstage / sidestage. For such a small stage, it's possible that some longer cables could've been a better solution, but practically it's always best to have the shortest distance from source to socket. My guess would be that this is part of a fixed setup that he rolls out, and it's easier to just keep that pattern and not change the gear, even if you don't necessarily need all the benefits from it. Also, digital stageboxes are primarily made to avoid long and thick analog multicable runs from FOH to stage. In this case, there is no FOH to send to, so the benefits of a stagebox here is I/O expansion and slightly better preamps on the DL32 vs the X32 Rack
@@petterrong1590 you can use a DL32 on stage and have on tour many times. not for all inputs, but it's fine onstage if it makes sense..
Curious to know your price for this type of service.
I actually use a UAP-AC-M also, except I've got a 3d printed mount that gives me a nice 3/8 thread, so it securely attaches to a mic stand. Couple of velcro ties to neaten the cable and it looks professional, whilst being super secure.
