Hey, great video! I wish there were more like it. I'm personally a big sci-fi/speculative fiction fan and I had a reference book many years ago that did exactly what you are doing here. Unfortunately it never got new editions so the info is quite out of date, but it still is useful if you read a lot of classic sci-fi (or want to). It is "A Reader's Guide to Science Fiction" (1979). It is basically a listing of sci-fi authors and what they've written, followed by an "If you liked this author, then you might like..." section. I discovered many authors using it and I can't recall ever being disappointed with the suggestions. I recently found a similar book that is a little more contemporary, "Science Fiction Authors: A Research Guide" (2008).
New viewer here! I stumbled upon this topic which I love but isn't done that often. I loved The Women and just downloaded The Fire By Night because it's on Kindle Unlimited now. I also enjoyed Burial Rites very much. Thanks for a refreshing change of pace from some of the "more popular" book channels.
This was so fun! I loved 7 and 1/2 lives of Evelyn Hardcastle so definitely going to get to that read alike. I loved The Women too so probably have to read that read alike too! I enjoyed The Maid and the Collected Regrets of Clover. Quite a few books here I haven’t heard of too which I love!
I just read The Women last month and loved it. I also love reading WW2 books so I put the book you recommended on my TBR! Thank you! I love videos like this.
I read The Maid and enjoyed Molly's character (but I confess I falll on the side of not liking the ending; it didn't ring true to the character for me, nor did the bit earlier with grandma that I don't want to spoil for others). I picked up a book at a little free library called Ginny Moon that I hadn't heard of before. Ginny is younger that Molly, but it was interesting to get into her head. She is a neurodiverse character, it may even sat that she's autistic. But I think they could be paired. Also there's an element of adding a bit to a story or event over time in this one.
Such a refreshing book channel. Not always main stream books that you see everyday on social media. ❤❤
Ahh, thank you!
I just bought Burial Rites from my favourite local used book shop and I'm excited to read it. Glad to hear your recommendation.

Welcome - it was really sweet of her to tag me!
🔥 I like these kind of recommendation videos with a more than shallow reason (“they both have witches”). Thanks for putting it together!
Thanks sis!

I hadn't really thought about the consistency of her character and the ending, good point!
I loved The Women and loved Burial Rites😊
