Great buy and sound for the money.
Many venues don’t cater for the big kits these days, space wise, so these are ideal.
Miked up and playing behind electric guitars, it’s hard to tell the difference between these and the expensive kits, which are often risky taking to gigs.
Great idea by Questlove.
kwesi, you CRAZYyyyyy! Finally, someone who tunes that 16" bassdrum how it's supposed to be. A bump sound, not a knock. Honestly, the easiest kit to tune, ever! really dig the sound of mine. I wish they came up with a better bassdrum riser system however.
Just got these shells for steal on clearance at my local store . 349 USD . Excited to learn the world of drumming ! Love the demonstrations in the video, really shows what the drums are about sound wise .
I play skatepunk on these and I love it! These little drums sing! evans emad on the kick and bam, a big sound from a little drum!

I have this same kit and use it for all my gigs. Great kit and tunes easily. I stack a ride and crash on the bass drum and don’t have to haul stands. Easy set up and take down.
What do you use to accomplishing stacking crash & ride on the bass drum?

Oh, dude! You are SO in the pocket, brother! I literally just had a breakthrough and can play that last groove you did at 10:00, after watching you on the breakbeats! I ordered one in that same black sparkle finish today, so I can mix/match my burgandy Gretsch Catalina and make a hybrid kit with that kick and mount and ride tom assembly. THANK YOU!!! I seriously almost died when I heard that last groove...I ran to the garage immediately and tried/did figure it out. SO tasty. I owe you, man! ;)

Thanks for the excellent video. Could you tell us how you've tuned it up (i.e., what pitch each head is tuned to) and what heads you'd recommend replacing the stock heads with?
I just want to say the whole “specialists in new and used musical equipment” is kind of redundant. You really could just say “specialists in musical equipment”
I remember when this kit was released... I had the same sort if "Sorry, what?" kinda vibe that mist people would considering the sizes of the shells. As a second kit that can be permanently set up in the practice room? A kit that maybe a younger player may get involved with? Like you said... an interesting proposition.
Catalinas probably sound better, but are a fair bit more expensive.
I play a Gretsch Renown 24,13,16... it was my only kit. I've been playing bass for years now but currently back on drums. We rehearse at the singers house. His kid has a Questlove Breakbeats kit... it blew my mind. Anyway to make a long story short, he moved and took his drums. So rather than drag my kit to rehearse, I found one of these online for fairly cheap. I can't wait to get it tuned up. But dang!!!! have you seen the price of drum heads lately!
I've converted a vintage Ludwig 14" tom into a bass drum and this video compelled me to get these very toms on ebay in the near future to match my BD.

When I still used an electronic kit the bass pad went kaput so I built a mount to use a floor Tom from an Accent kit for my bass drum. It sounded terrible so they’re doing something right with the breakbeat. Must be the wood? I almost bought a breakbeat last year when I went back to real drums. I bought a pdp Encore instead. It’s not a bad set when it comes to the bass drum and floor Tom with good heads and an acrolite snare,but the 12” Tom just won’t tune well. The 10” Tom sounds good,but I play a 4 piece setup and a 10” Tom to a16” floor Tom doesn’t work well with that. Also,should anyone e considering buying a pdp Encore,it has a 6 lug floor Tom,which I didn’t notice until it arrived. Have good stands and cymbals if you buy one and the factory heads were so bad that I scrapped them for the aluminum. Good reviews always,btw,Quesi.

Just saying, that price is bad sweetwater sells them for 399 USD (which is less than pound) and you guys sell for 450 UK pound sooo, bring down the price smh
Current price of these (at time of writing) is £375. It was £450 in 2018 when these were a bit newer. If you want to try and ship from the US then the price would be significantly higher. We offer free delivery to mainland UK addresses. Hope this clarifies things!

I have this kit and use it for all my gigs (Funk, Soul & R&B music). Sounds awesome, but needs a few "tweaks" to be useable (different bass-drum raiser, some heads exchanged etc.).
Michiel van Rijn... I bought one and found a way to fix the kick riser issue. I went to the hardware store and bought longer bolts, some locking nuts and a mix of metal and rubber washers. Been fine ever since.
Erin Pitman what is the issue with the riser? And do You have pictures of your fix?
I've tried Evans UV1 heads and Aquarian Two ply heads on the toms and it sounds great!
