To name a couple examples, you will still be able to move while shooting and crouch-walk, two abilities never exhibited in the original that will, whether you like it or not, inherently change the gameplay philosophy of the original. Secondly, Twin Snakes is most definitely the worst example you could have brought here. There’s a reason it’s widely hated, and I’m not even referring to the terrible cutscenes. Many of the abilities, including the ledge hanging you just mentioned, completely trivialized how you interacted with the world of shadow moses. It objectively changed it, and not for the better. Look. I want this remake to work out. But if you one of those who are blinded by nostalgia and can’t open your mind to meaningful discussion, I simply can’t engage further.

I love the fresh coat of paint. I would love to see more in depth gameplay footage though. I like that they have the dynamic controllable camera option, hope it feels good when playing.

MGSV was more about doing anything however and from wherever. It was more about doing things your own creative way where subsistence was more about doing as much as you could with as little as you had. If given too much accessibility, I’m afraid it turns into more of a stealth playground than a stealth puzzle, if that makes sense

RE4 remake is definitely my favorite remake. So many improvements from the smarter AI, parrying, more fleshed out characters, more serious tone to the story, weapon balancing, better boss fights, amazing backtracking, upgraded treasure system, mini boss fights, quest, better mercenaries and of course the Ada DLC that is basically its own game and now a must play to complete the story. They knocked that game out the park !
Re2 sucked as a remake. Shit was bare bones and got rid of the zapping system, playing scenario b don't even make sense. The GameCube remake of the original resi is the real goat
RE4 remake is my favorite remake but it's not 1:1. They changed a lotta things, some for the better and some for the worse. But i think MGS Delta will easily top RE4 remake since it's the exact same game with no cuts or changes but with better gameplay & graphics!

It honestly looks like all they did was update the graphics. The scenes, voice acting, camera angles, controls and environments all look like exact duplicates, just with modern visuals.

If this plays exacly like mgsv tpp this is a masterpiece for sure plus of course keeping the story the same and characters the same. On the older version of the first one. I am going crazy, just for MGS3 i bought psvita and Nintendo 3DS. After it announcement just for metal gear solid 3 delta I bought PS5 and prepared a fine PC. Hyped AF.
Id give best remakes to RE4 and FF7R. They’re not only remakes but a reimagining of the original game. Delta is gonna be a carbon copy, level design and story wise. Still excited to play through this though! Hope they do this for MG1&2 and MGS 1,2,4 🙏
Looks decent at this point. Reusing audio, in some cases reusing animations, exact level design...not sure I'd call it a true remake. Enhanced/Definitive version I guess. The original version still exists so I'm not sure why outside of setting a low-budget (shocker for Konami...) they wouldn't just modernize the original. For a remake, Kojima doesn't need to be involved either.
Snake eater is in my top 3 favorite games of all time but it looks like this is more like the greatest remaster of all time if everything is the same aside from graphics and modern controls. Re4 is probably the greatest remake.
If you use a very loose definition of the term "remake" which includes games like this that just upgrade the original game with better graphics without actually adding anything... then yeah, this could be one of the greatest remakes of all time.
Not a criticism since it kind of works with the series, but I am amazed at how silly the "stealth" is in these MGS games. Like, how soldiers couldn't see or feel Snake hanging and shimmying accross the bridge, or walking over their heads in the open on that girder is hilarious to me. It's so ridiculous that it just works, I guess.
Honestly.. I played this to death back then, and I've matured. Don't see visuals being a strong enough reason for me to give Konami, of all companies, money again.

Maybe it's because this is my favorite game of all time and it's too close to home but something about the visuals makes me uneasy. Just doesn't sit quite right but I can't put my finger on it other than it doesn't have that Koji pro feel.

But this is an almost unproven studio and all we have to go on are a couple snippits of gameplay. I hope it turns out well but there’s still a lot of what ifs. Already pre ordered every version and plan to do so when the digital version drops so I don't have to open any of them. I know what I'm in for, I've been playing the original for 20 years since day 1. I've played every port and version. Anyone with a bit of logic can see that this is going to be better than perfect as far as remakes go. At the end of the day, don't tell people how to spend their money. You're neither their parents or a god.

The expectations for remakes have changed, especially for games being remade after a span of 20 years. What made the OG Snakeeater great, gameplay-wise, will be completely absent here. It’ll play like MGSV with the MGS3 skin and story. That might be enough for some people, but old fans will feel something’s missing while newcomers will think they figured out what the original was all about. Sure newcomers will get to experience the story, but the OG’s presentation is still excellent, and making this remake play like MGSV will make it wayyy too easy. I just don’t know who the main target audience is, I don’t think they even thought about it. Konami just knew the original was beloved and are trying to make something they think will bring in the money without much overhead

IMO MGS-3 Is a Top 5 Linear experience of all time. But we all know KONAMI will screw this up. SILENT-HILL-2 Looks it didn't need a remake. And MGS-3 is the same game exactly like the original. With all the audio from the original without even redoing the parts that sounds Cringey almost 20 Years Later. I Hope the rumors are true and BLUEPOINT are remaking MGS-1. It's the only thing that can revive this legendary franchise.

No analysis or demand yet about "next gen" Enemy AI by the industry experts...strange !! Imagine playing with a dumb AI with nex gen graphics...many modern games have been doing this farce...take Crysis 3 for example. That Mr.X AI moment/presence from RE2 remake was genre defining and missing from discussions and developer's work. Feels like it gets avoided on purpose due to the technical complexities...

With all the audio from the original without even redoing the parts that sounds Cringey almost 20 Years Later.
I Hope the rumors are true and BLUEPOINT are remaking MGS-1.
It's the only thing that can revive this legendary franchise.

Imagine playing with a dumb AI with nex gen graphics...many modern games have been doing this farce...take Crysis 3 for example.
That Mr.X AI moment/presence from RE2 remake was genre defining and missing from discussions and developer's work. Feels like it gets avoided on purpose due to the technical complexities...
