    I love it when kids can't afford to fix the simple things and sell their cars for cheap. I found a clean 2000 Integra LS, the interior was immaculate and everything was still OEM, no mods. Body had some rust spots and the car needed a new alternator to run. $500 later, the car looks like new and it runs strong!

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sonny, Yeah majority of people can not work on there own cars, so if they can't afford to have it fixed they sell. $500 is a very good price. This civic was sitting for 5 years because the crank pulley came loose.

      Hi Bro, you should! your civic looks like it was not abused or extremely modified before, perfect for a build! also don't be scared to boost the D16, they can handle about 160wkw in mostly stock form. or just swop it if that's cheap in NZ. I went with the boosted D15 because B or K swop is very expensive in RSA. but a Bswop is coming.

      Hi Bro, thanks for the sub! yes I was very lucky with this car, was neglected for very long but it did not take too much work to get it looking very clean again. also has fairly low miles. the price I paid was "a good price" but it was not exactly cheap.

    You do reliase where that from tbumper was soft and moving is because they did a mould delete and just bogged the big holes up where the bumper moulding was

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bro, Yes, on the corner section there is about 1cm of bog to fill the hole. in total there was about 4 places with cracks. I did not show it (because I made a mess working with bog for the first time), but I did chip out and refill those sections, sanded it down and layed down heavy primer to fill small bubbles in my bog work. it's been about a year now since the fix and it is still holding up. It will probably crack again but I do plan to replace/modify the bumper soon.

    learnt about clay barring in this thing... I know you guys are gonna shit on me for this, but I'm currently restoring my own civic, after a bad spray job paint just cracked all over the car and so I've started flattening it and I'm spraying it piece by piece with grey primer from the can, I really liked how my fender came out and I had to replace my bonnet, so I decided I'm going to spray my entire car with matt grey primer and then just go right over that with matt clear

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi bro, I won't recommend using spray cans, its actually way more expensive than buying a used compressor and a cheap spray gun. Cans will give good results now, but won't last a long time. You can always sell the compressor again when you done. You can buy matt grey paint and get the same results for possibly cheaper and if you make a mistake you can sand it and try again, cans get expensive because of the poor coverage.

    Great job, tell me what does the blue soap do

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hi bro, it is a "Clay Bar". it removes surface contamination from the paint. because this car was sitting for 5 years the paint felt very rough, almost like sandpaper even after washing it. after using the claybar the paint feels very smooth. However you must polish the paint afterwards. the claybar can cause some light scratches.

    How much would it cost to turn a 160i into a vtec, labor cost included?

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Storm, this depends greatly on what country you are from. I can speak for South Africa, here it is expensive because B series cars are not that common from factory here. a B-series gearbox costs around R5500, Shafts R1500, starter R1000, T-bracket and shifter links R800, a B-series bottom end R3000 to R5000, a good vtec head starts at R6000. labour to fit can easy reach R10 000+. then small things like CVs, clutch, vtec oil feed kit and other small things will quickly reach R3000. also, you will need the wiring loom and ECU or management. I estimate the cost to be around R30000 to R38000 including labour. of course if you can fit the swop yourself and have time to search for bargain parts you can save a lot of money. possibly under R20k. I know this because I recently started buying the parts I need to do the B18 LS vtec swop. in my opinion, sell your car and buy a Bseries car.

    New sub here bro love the build and the diy aspect. I have a question in regards to the clay bar. Did it take just 1 bar to do the entire car? And did u do the whole car in one go or more than one day? The solution u spray is it just water and soap or a special solution

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi. Thanks for watching, in my case yes it did only take one clay bar to do the whole car. The type of contamination on the paint from standing for 5 years almost got desolved by the clay. That why the liquid around it went brown. For the most part it did not get stuck in the clay to much. But 1 clay bar should be enough for a car. Even possible to use it more then once if your paint is not bad. Also yes the clay bar process only took a few hours. Easy to do in 1 day. The clay bar kit normally comes with instant detailer to use as lubricant, but you can use very soapy water. It's just to prevent the clay from sticking to the paint. If your cars paint does not feel smooth to the touch after washing it, it could help to claybar it.

    Howsit bro, nice vid! Where did you get the white paint. ? I believe it is frost white?

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ryan. I'm not sure if it is frost white. The car looks like it was repainted at some stage so I took my petrol cap flap off and took it to a automotive paint shop and they mixed me some white paint to match. It is a very close match and it was fairly cheap. I got 2L if I remember correctly. I would recommend letting a shop mix it for you over buying paint based on a name as many things like primer colour could affect the final outcome.

    Nice video dude, one question, i saw that your right tail light doesnt fit 100% did you fix it? Because my hatch also has this fitment problem

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bro, I was not able to do anything about it, reason being that i'm not sure why it does not fit correctly. at first I was thinking it may be because it is a aftermarket light, however the other side fits perfect. my worry now is that there may be some old "bodywork" in this area, so I am first going to look on the inside of that section of body panel by removing the interior plastics so I can see that area. if there is no bodywork I will use a dremel tool to oval out the lights mounting holes, this will give me some adjustment, I will also use a few washer to space the light outwards as myne sits to deep in and touches the body. hope this helps you bro.

    How much do you think that turbo set up will cost?

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bro, I got the car already boosted so I do not know the exact cost, but I can make a list with estimates for you.
      You can buy a full turbo kit for around R6500, the problem is shipping will also be about R6000 to R7000
      Dictator ECU - second hand from R2000
      ECU Install - R1000 / Tune R1200
      Injectors are expensive but you can get bigger OEM second-hand from a scrapyard for about R2000
      You can also try to piece together all the parts you need and it may be cheaper than the kit + shipping.
      Bigger fuel pump R2000 (optional if you make moderate power)
      My estimate is R14 000 to R20 000 for everything, but the labour cost could make it much more.

      @RisingBoostYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi bro, I paid 40 000 ZAR ($3200 at the time) for the car as it was at the beginning of the video. with the turbo setup as in my second video. that is a bit high but in South Africa civic are a bit more expensive as they not as common as the EK sedans. also we don't have EF / EG hatches.
