The most honest guy on TH-cam. He gives me such a positive vibe.
Yeah man me too!

Had a 99 Civic EX blown head gasket. Wanted to fix it, no one wanted to work on it. No rust, had it for 11 years. Broke my heart.
This man has skills with a budget friendly attitude. I salute.

this is what 90s hondas deserve. those riced ones just hurt my heart.

would be awesome if he did a JDM restoration on a infiniti G20 to the primera. really underrated car
He did a great job restoring the civic

Who else here because you stuck at home wishing this could be you in your own driveway with your own ride. Got youngster to little to be able to do any work for now, so, someone elses project is my little escape. Nice Em2 bro.
awesome account name love it
You're the embodiment of "Do it right or don't do it at all".
Respect.
Bro, I would tow ANY old Honda to your spot and let you have at it. Wouldn't care what you decided to do. I know I would love it. Your patience and attention to detail is crazy!!! Respect.
These videos feel like they've been uploaded 5+ years ago, and I mean no offense with that at all. Today's videos feel overproduced and fake, and are stuffed with in-video ads and promotions (which is needed unfortunately in today's youtube world). These videos really have that retro TH-cam feel and it's great. Short simple clips, easy text to read, ncs music in the background, no bullshit. It takes me back to simpler times and I love watching these videos in their entirety. Keep it up man, I love your work!
Love seeing the budget stuff. So many channels are using like 10k dollars worth of KTuned parts and it's just not realistic for the average hobbyist
Joe Black hey it’s their choice 🤷♂️
I get what you're saying٫ but I save for my quality parts. Im a dad and a husband٫ but still can create a savings.
Half way through the video, I realized the amount of effort put in this mans content is unparalleled... Several weeks/months of working on the car itself. THEN once the build is complete, weeks/months of footage to rewatch and edit deciding what to keep and what to take out.... Can’t even imagine. Maaaaaad respect bro 🤙🏽🙏🏽.
Alright now back to the rest of the video lol.
Boogybreak thank you
Doing budget jobs is harder than people think. I do body and paint work for a living, and its way easier with a full shop and all materials at your disposal. Being able to put out the quality of work this channel does takes real skill and planning, let alone planning to make it budget friendly. I give this channel nothing but respect, this is what the real car guys do with their time and money
I like the way you put this video together. No talking, from start to finish, cool music... Makes it easier to watch cause you dont spend 10 minutes explaining every little thing while joking around with a friend acting all goofy like a 10 yr old. Im tellin you some of these other youtubers act like clowns.
The most impressive thing for me the amount of patience you have to pull this off. Most people would throw in the towel on the first day by the sheer volume of time it takes to do this.
@Skynet Cyborg True, when it's something you like doing it's not a "chore or job" it's a hobby & passion. He takes his time. 👍
I feel old cause I wear knee pads as well
Proper respiration equipment, even though it's DIY? Admitting his paint mistake and even going so far as to show it, and show him correcting it? Holding his shirt back when he was painting the engine bay so it didn't touch? I'd pay so much money to have this guy re-up my 94 EJ Coupe in Aztec Blue Metallic xD For real, amazing work as always man. Thanks for doing this. Please send me some of your initiative and drive so I can restore my '67 TBird lol
Finally more content to make me happy during the lockdown here in Ireland
From this video we can all see that the body part, of this & our cars are not expensive. What is expensive is the hand job. Done to your car paying the person to do it thanks to this video I learn how to change my car from lights and save up 350$ dollars that the guy in the mechanics was charging me. Thanks a lot dude well done.

It’s a STICK !!! not many people know how to mess with that. Love the white color too it’s like that taffy white that was so popular with the 8th gens
Stupid clean. I love how clean it is. I bought one of these for $800 and put $200 into it to get it to run properly, and I wanted to keep it but a friend needed a car so I sold it to them for $2500. 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ I’m gonna buy another one. Right now I got a 2015 Civic SI Coupe and I love it.
You inspired me to start on my project car, I clicked so fast
This was really cool to watch in it's entirety. I'm glad there are still so many guys out there that appreciate these cars as much as I do...and I'm 37 years old. I'm about $25k into my car...and still counting. I remember watching you back when you only had a few hundred subscribers with that old Prelude. Good to see you blew up bro!
$25k into what? A civic or prelude?
25k is not that much I guess... people buy a new car 25k drive it for 3 years then sell it for 7k in an auction
@@sebastianschumacher9772 but the difference of spending $25k on an old car compared to spending $25k on a new car is literally new or old, newer technology, and usually less miles even that on a newer car. But $25k on a older Honda, that’s a lot of money. Spend your money how you want to but there were other options to spend $25k
I liked the fact that he said "A "STICK" ist looking out of the block"
As if there were people that would say :"naaah dude it's fine, no need for replacing."
So much respect for someone who does this much to restore a beautiful car like this

I see no ventilation when applying the final paint. This will cause the paint floating in the air to settle down on your new paint causing a dull fuzzy finish. With that aside you did a fantastic job bringing that car back from the dead. Great job my friend.
Man wish I could find something like this for 400 where I live
Adam Perez exactly all the cars around my area are way overpriced and are junk. That’s why I’m looking at a imported skyline in Florida
Honestly
Taran damn you found a good deal in Florida, that’s actually crazy considering I’ve though about most jdm cars and they are usually really beat up or “ I kNoW wHaT I haVe” type of people overcharging everything :p
not possible m8
The northern Midwest has no cars I swear
Just letting you know my husband loves watching your channel and you look like a honest hard working man and that's all he talks about is wanting to do is what you do with yours cars so please keep up your good work because people like you make give people hope that they can do it to love your work and if you ever sale any of your work please let use know because would buy a car from you in a heart beat so please keep making this TH-cam videos. Didn’t think I’d watch the whole thing. Dude this was great.
Weather you love or hate Honda’s you have to respect the amount of work put into this. I drive VWs but you impress me every time with your restorations/rebuilds. Keep it up and stay safe.
For real you make these civic so clean man..I dont care ppl call me ricer/poor, where im from like evey other block someone own a new bmw or benzs.
I just bought a 97 EX coupe for $500 with a bad auto trans, the guy gave me another auto trans to go with it. The car had been wrecked before, maybe 2 times before and wasn’t really fixed back the best, I’ve been tearing into it and finding stuff that concerns me like body lines not adding up and stuff, but the car is solid and runs so I may just fix it back the right way.
It always makes me happy when I see a 79th Productions video come out!
# LEGEND trust an believe 1 million subscribers. Man you bring back child hood memories of my uncle showing me how to work on a car. Rest In Peace lost interest when god took him. Took a decade to get back into it. Started on my 69 mustang but it was to big of a project for me so I just parted ways but I now have an 89 lx 5.0 notchback I’m working on and picked up a Harley going to live life a quarter mile at a time !!!!

nick lol you know, you know , you know - hector is not the guy 😂 it was always torreto
Very nice your hard work paid off big time ...just add 18% tint and sunroof visor, if you can get away with it, im on the coast man 843, as soon as im done with my project may ride up there to check you out, i had a 1991.5 Honda Accord Ex 4 dr.sedan back in the 90's, with the 2.2L Multiport Programmed FI. VVtec, 4 sp.auto turbomatic transmission w/Sportmode and lock up torque converter, and the car avg.0-60 in 6.5 sec. i had 3 full grown adults in the car we each weighed at least 170 lbs a piece and had a solid pine box of 12" woofers in the trunk and the car still ran 120 mph, it stopped there and wouldn't go no faster but there was still a lil bit pedal left to go, i think due to factory govern, it was a beautiful black stallion with semi metallic black w/clear coat and gold pin striping exterior paint, and dual color interior blk leather dash and ivory colored cloth bucket seats and it had a sun/moon roof with tinted glass i had 5% limo tint on it and had a dark smoke roof visor on it, also had the full chrome fender trim all around to match the factory chromium rims and the front end leather bra oh yeah and the bass stayed bumpin due to that Rockford Fosgate 55 series amp and them JL 12" woofers....sheeit i miss that car so much now, i let it go down and got me a 1992 Pearl white w/red stripe down the center Pontiac GP with that DOHC 3100 and it had the red velvet buckets and back seat that was another smooth ass ride and fast too.
Thats it! You have convinced me to finally pull the trigger and buy a Honda to restore and build. I have little car experience and litlle money, but I know how to do the basics. Hopefully by doing this I learn more about cars and make my dream of building a car (on a budget) a reality.
I can just watch your videos back to back... the way you build and the details you inform the viewers is golden. Keep it up... do not change your format.. thank you again.
25:50 most satisfying part.
i was so confused how he got it for 400$ an then when i saw the hole in the engine block it all made sense 😂
I bought a 98 civic LX two weeks ago for $800 and already threw a rod through the pan lol
@@fc1jp444 bro with out a doubt the add for that roller shell here in Ontario would be...."3000$ FIRM, no low ballers, no tire kickers, I know what I got 😤" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@SketchTactics you think Ontario is bad? Try New Brunswick, we have to go to Quebec or Nova Scotia to get a car this clean
I’m telling you lol. Here in middle Tennessee where I’m from, even with a hole like that in the block it would still fetch $1500-2000 just because of how clean everything the shell is. The engines are what’s dirt cheap around here. You can pick up a y7 like he pulled for like a $100 if you’re in the loop with the Honda people around here. Hell even a decent b18c1 would be maybe $300 at most. A ragged out ej1 shell, or even and ej7 like this would still be about $1500-2000 though.
Yeah, 2000hr. of labor later....it was a "cheap budget build".
U must live in heaven to buy a civic in this condition for $400, great video btw
My friend I admire you very much I been following for a long time now and I have to say I love your work. Stay safe my friend.
Awesome to see Civic’s being rebuilt. Quality job on a budget, you’ve got amazing skills. Keep doing what you do best, saving 90’s cars from the junkyard.😄👊
Bcz of this dude... I’m gonna fixs my car now, in quarantine.
How’s it going?
Update?
Any thing yet ?
You can do it, keep at it.
update he died fixing a honda mustang
This is what I wanna do I have a 2096 Saturn that has a dead engine and I don’t want to let it go. In the mean time I have a 99 Chevy Malibu that I learned how to replace the brakes spark plugs I redid the interior spark plug wires sanded and added tint to. One day I will do a engine swap and you along with other great youtubers helped me learn. Ty so much for sharing.
I love working on cars but I don’t have much patience I wish I had the patience you got man looks like you love what you do
The amount of time and dedication for a Honda Civic is incredible. I personally plan to get a classic car to work on and learn how to do major work like this. One big thing I can never understand is, when you disassembled the engine bay, how do you remember where the ~300 different parts and screws all go to put it back together? How does one organize such a venture and maintain their sanity? I have done a ton of small projects on cars over the years, but with that many variables, I am certain I'd forget something important and that could be bad. Any expertise would be appreciated!
Tyler Ross “You put the bolts in ZipLock bags and Label them”
I love what you do man. It’s crazy how we think things are so far out of our reach financially and then there’s legends like you to let us know what hard work can do for you I love you dawg.
You have amazing talent and Father bless those hands of yours to keep bringing back those Hondas to life.
These are the types of videos im trynna binge during quarantine
From Australia, many years ago I had a right hand drive white EJ8 Civic Coupe as well. I remember it has a D16y8 engine.
If you don't have garage/driveway and park on the street you're definitely getting this jacked.
This guy makes swapping an engine look as easy as an oil and filter change! Top notch work dude!
This will probably be buried but you’re amazing dude. Just a humble guy working on Honda’s who knows his stuff. Real inspiration for anyone who wants to get into restoration or mods. Keep uploading please. :)
I don’t even like civic but he really made this build interesting 😂
Jonathan Rivas same here, now i want to build one
Effort always does.
Yoouu civic are the shit if you want a carr to have fun running in the street thats the carr or honda cvr 89 to 2000...
$2,370 and an absolutely beautiful car for that money spent. Well done!
This one is what i like the most of any restoration project i've watched... Few tutorials are important..
The amount of work that went into this and filming it at the same time is impressive.
imagine not following him on insta to see almost daily updates🥱
I'm down. Gonna try doing a J35 swap. Ever try driving an Odyssey, things are fast drop it in a civic and I know it gets even faster, eventually drop a turbo but for now the focus is on the engine.
clarence bruton I have an Acura CL type-S with a J series. People really sleep on the J’s man it’s crazy. They make some power
Rizz Music Its bc its so hard to find good manual transmissions for them 😪
Antuan Perez dude I hate it!!! The only other way of using a 06 accord manual trans and a rsx housing. Or some shit like that. It’s a lot of work
I watch all your videos. Currently I’m rebuilding a 90 Honda prelude. I’m swapping the 5th gen engine into the 3rd gen. When the build gets tough I think about all the work you accomplished In that garage and it really motivates me. This is a great video and it was really informative. You’re amazing👍
I hate Chivichs with passion due to the 90-2000 riced out Era, but i love your channel and always watch your build, you do them properly. Im currently working on a Skyline RB26 engine imported from japan and it will be going in to my 11 Subaru, outcome will be 800hp
It's a good day when we get another upload from Justin at 79th Productions
Dude keep up the good work, one project by anther this channel will hit milion in no time. 💪
Man, I feel like there is so much work here that it could be a 5 or 6 part series. I like that it's to the point and there is very little fluff. But if this TH-cam channel starts making money, there are a lot of people who would like to follow you through all of the detail of doing something like this. Also, people who are looking to do an engine swap or paint an engine bay might want a video just specifically on that with it in the title so they can find it.
You make it look easy. I get stuck on a bolt or hose that won't budge and I'm saying every curse word, hide the kids. After struggling on that one thing for an hour and wanting to smash the car to bits and burn it, I call it a day.
It's good to see someone put some work into a car Most people would have left that in the junkyard or parted it out
Man you’re making me wanna go out and buy a project car today
UPDATE: I just brought home a 1994 del sol Si with a B18b1 in it😂😂 let’s goooooo

Did you ever get the car?
@@donttrip2366 Unfortunately no. I went to see the car with very high hopes but upon further inspection and a test drive, it turned out to be a pretty problematic vehicle. I told him that it clearly had flaws that were not mentioned in his ad and that I'd still buy it for a much lower, more reasonable price. He was frustrated with me and declined. I do have a vehicle though. About a month ago I picked up a mint condition stick shift 2000 Toyota Rav4 with 70,000 kilometers on it. That's barely any. I am extremely happy with my purchase as I have been daily driving this car and it has had no issues and is very fun to drive. Also, insurance is very cheap for it. I'm glad I didn't get that Subaru. Look into Cuban mechanics. Because of the trade ban between us and Cuba they have quite an impressive collection of mechanics who have fabbed their own parts for things and pretty much become engineer and mechanic. One of my good buddies and smartest most creative buddies comes from Romania. Doesnt have to be anything crazy if you love this shit build mowers, mopeds and whatever you have available to you and It will translate into knowledge you can use on all mechanics.
