It is for SURE on the more expensive end but its full carbon to the turbo inlet and that is from 034. I have put ~8k on the intake setup and its solid. The intake cone isn't as large but these motors can only flow so much air with stock turbo.
I just purchased the PEX version of this $240 only difference is the PEX material which is supposed to insulate from heat better than the carbon fiber. It sounds exactly like the CF version and a couple hundred less. 👍👍
Could always take the factory shroud off and get a hydrosheild on the filter 👍🏼 that’s what I have on my CAI that’s completely exposed on my Mazda behind a vent. I drive in the rain no issues and it def gets wet.
been thinking of grabbing this just cause everything on my car is apr except the intake which is cts. did that as my first mod then went apr for everything from tune to turboback exhaust to intercooler etc. cant wait to hear it on my car
So I have the closed version with the catch can and picked up a pex version of this intake hoping to go back and forth and with that I had my first issue: incompatibility. So the catch can will have to go if you get this intake. APR's response has been that they couldn't do it and maintain the flow characteristics and shape.....namely that 90 degree bend. While this is true, a longer differently shaped bracket could have moved the can slightly towards the front of the engine and it would have cleared. Instead you'll have to remove the pricey can and run the risk of damaging the norma connectors so you may want an additional OEM PCV valve on hand just in case. SO for now it sits on my shelf until I have to get a new pcv valve. Oh and you'll need to buy a secondary air filter if you have that hose since APR aint about that life.
The extra noise is one thing, but I'd be more curious about any negative effects on the engine over time. I wanna see someone with higher mileage and one of these installed for proof it doesn't fudge up the engine with time.
@@NewEnglandPete ah. I wouldn't plan on doing any of that. I have a '24 GLI (so roughly the same setup as a GTI more or less). The only mods I intend on doing are a mid muffler delete and a stage 1 APR tune. That's pretty much it. Supposedly APR recommends installing the intake upgrade to go along with the stage 1 tune, but a based on the other videos out there with mechanics downplaying the effectiveness of CAI systems, I'm a bit weary to do the mod. Sure, it sounds a lot cooler, but if warmer air or having a much less restrictive filter inviting unwanted particles into the engine could cause issues with miles/years... doesn't sound worth the risk. However, I"m SURE these intakes are far better quality than what I was using on my Cavalier back in 2006 and 2007. So, idk, I'm still on the fence about them.
@1WithTheShark I have been involved with this platform for 8 years. Incredibly reliable. These cars are so cheap even when they do break. Take the plunge! Take chances!
Pete I picked this up awhile ago based on your recommendation and have been really enjoying it. I’m thinking about getting the Remus too! How much was your system after tax, shipping, etc.? There are so many different options on the site that it’s kind of hard to know how much they really are. Thanks again buddy!
With remus there isnt to many options other than res/non res , and im sure they have a track (straight thru) and a valved muffler the money comes from the tips i had a set of carbon tips on my catback they ran me an extra 1500$ lol so the cheapest setup u can most likely get is around 14-1600 CAD.
Have you looked into changing out the turbo inlet pipe? Might mate better to the open intake- definitely going upgrade that when I inevitably add the IE intake. I’d really like to see one of these videos for your Remus! I ordered one for my 7.5 after you posted your video, but due to supplier issues I’m going to be waiting a few more months :(
You posted a vid of the sound of your caRrr, i got notified at work and was excited to watch it at home.. then i saw you deleted the vid..🙄 #NotiGang #Remussss
Just put the APR PEX intake on my 22’ GLI , feels like a totally new car to drive 😍

Yes true!
Ive been rocking the CTS turbo intake on my MK7 GTI and its soooo loud and looks amazing too
Yes that intake is sweet!

I’m rocking an IE intake, no complaints!
Aye! Good stuff.
I have the same APR intake connected to my MTC motorsport turbo inlet on my S3 saloon. Sounds great

Running an IE intake on my R. Enjoying your content!
Do you have the carbon kit?
@@Jeremy-zd8gd just have the carbon cover
Glad to see your channel is growing homie keep up the great work!
Just ordered mine. Thanks for the video!
Great videos!!! definitely enjoy your content. 👍
Is that Ok to drive through the winter with snow and stuff? Also how often do you have to change it?
You can wash the filter, little to no need to buy a new filter, wash it and let it air dry for a few hours and you’ll be good
My cts lowered my oil temperature by 15 F

An intake compared to all of the other engine mods.. should be the least of your worries.
@@NewEnglandPete ....mmmm what other engine mods?
@1WithTheShark Tunes / Crackles, Big Turbos, etc.

I’m trying to get one in my a3 does it do anything to the car like make it run hotter or void warranty just a intake
Do you have to change it after years?
Why do you still have the plastic intake hose ?
In europe that front block off plate right before the airbox is open
Is this the best intake for my MK7 Jetta 1.4t
Hot air ie intake is a better option
What exaust mods do you have in this video? Just a res delete? no way

@@Island1999 yeah I’m honestly just looking for the most basic one, just want the sound. Are all of the systems valved?
Most, if/not all of the systems are valved, I highly recommend it though. I have the base Non-Res setup... love it! bit.ly/3zE0EbP
