I have the VWR intake on my Mk7. It's a closed intake but sounds amazing, and surprisingly I can even hear it clearly over a full turboback exhaust (DP + Catback).
I definitely recommend upgrading the intercooler as you mentioned! I only have a GTI (so even smaller intercooler/radiator surface area than the R), but it's a no brainer once you start tuning, even in colder climates.
This is the best intake just wish they did away with hoses hate that shit on newer cars just one solid metal or powder coated pipe . That's why I like maps
There is page somewhere where tests tell you why that stock Airbox mod is at the bottom in terms of airflow. I have to find the link. But i got a full MST intake and the MST TIP because of his research. This IE intake is on that chart as well. So it’s sound is cool but it actually does help. Gauged my purchase tbh.
Is 2014 a3 1.8t compatible? Their website says the intake system is not compatible with ea888 gen3 with maf sensor I really cannot figure it out whether my car has that sensor Thanks
I just came across your channel and am loving it so far! With this setup (minus the cover), would you have any concern with water getting into the intake?
I want to get some mods for my mk7.5 but idk how far I can go before voiding warranties is an issue. Does an intake on these cars make the induction sound better?
I have the same intake from the video on my S3 and yes the induction noise is very audible. The only other mod I have affecting sound is a downpipe, also from IE.
@@danieljadorie829 that’s great to know. I want to do basic things because I’m financing my GTI but idk how much I can get away with without getting in trouble
@@rudydaberry122 I know for a fact anything involving flashing the ECU or TCU will void warranty. I suggest asking your service advisor at your VW dealership. My audi dealership was okay with some suspension upgrades but that might be different for you. I was a little under 30K miles when I decided to go stage 2.
After installing this intake I am getting the compressor surge stustustu sound while in gear hard on throttle. I am not tuned, this is my only mod. Anyone know about this?
I recently went stage 1 and the issue isn’t as apparent, it still does happen sometimes especially if I get on it before 3500 rpm. I would suggest going stage 1 if u have the intake bc it’s a lot more air going in.
Have the same intake, just curious if you had a hard time getting the one way check valve out of the stock coolant line from the engine to the rad? Mine was ridiculously difficult to get out!
just found your channel after trading in my speed3 for a 19 golf R. You want to talk about heat soak them speeds with the TMIC is insane. But question how did you get your gauge cluster to have green color?
Rather than him tell you. Go back and watch his video on it. That’s not me being mean either. He did one awhile back. Go support his awesome channel ❤️
Get the IE Intake HERE! bit.ly/3eIwdIT
Bought it as well! It’s so amazing. I first bought the APR carbon fiber closed intake and was so disappointed with the sound. IE is the real deal man
Glad to hear that! 🤟🏻

ended up buying this intake based on your recommendation and i’m stoked with it!

What happened to the Apr open intake? Did you not like it anymore
I personally can't justify the $$$ cost vs the stock box with the box mod, sounds absolutely wicked though

Just mod the stock intake. My 1.5 Tsi is so loud…
there is no way to get flutter noises without the dv being unplugged or anything of that sort ?

Hey there, I know it's a year later. But did you end up putting a pod filter or intake on your 7.5?
@@rylanr8783 yeah I did. Some eBay one but surprisingly it fit PERFECTLY and sounds absolutely amazing! The intake sounds are so loud
Mine just came in today...will it hook up to the stock inlet pipe? I will order theirs, but obviously, I want to hook this thing up now!

Have the same issue

Went stage 1 when I put the intake on. Is it normal or should I be concerned?
I’m pretty sure it’s normal, just don’t get on it at too low rpm
It’s normal
What exhaust are you running?
What brand Intake should I buy for my mk7 Jetta 1.4

Removing the stock coolant line is sometimes tricky with those clamps. I found it helpful using a needle nose for the removal.
Hi, how did you get the "pssh" sound or turbo flutter? Do you have a bov?
You'll get the pssh sound just from the IE intake itself. The turbo flutter is from his tune.
This or cts turbo for my gli 2020? Which is louder
So this compatible golf tsi 2015 ??
Pete I recently bought a 2015 S3 with 56k miles and it's my first VAG car. Should I expect any issues down the road?
Carbon buildup
what do you do with the secondary air filter thats connected to the stock intake?
There's a provision on the elbow for it.

There's device called the obd11 you can do tweaks to the digital dash
