LOL! Mr. Road Rage was driving an honest-to-goodness land barge! Now that is a good catch in itself :) Crossing runners and a crew change along with two long trains is top-level cool - they emptied one of the yards, for sure!
Awesome display of arrogance and stupidity by those drivers ignoring and challenging the RR crossing signals. There’s the old saying, “ ignorance can be fixed, but stupidity is forever.” That last CSX train was super long and heavy with only two units pulling. Love seeing crew changes. Thank you for another great video, JT
Some people have no appreciation for trains. 😳 Road rage. Wow two trains at once, and you didn't have to go far to get them !! Norphie say "ahhh this is the life' !!! Woooooo 👍 great video !! 👍👍👍
Great video Jawtooth. I could see turning around and leaving if you had a time deadline and weren’t a railfan. But that driver seemed a bit ticked off about it.
That were some long trains. The amount of power from those locomotives is amazing. Great video, love your black cat. That road rage SW looks like it had red hot brakes on the still image with the gate light in front.
The city area of Hamilton Ohio has always been a pain in the ass to get from one end to the other. Almost 50% of the time I need to go through Hamilton I have to stop for a long train, that is maybe why you see road rage and gate runners.
Come on down to Baldwin Florida (Hwy 90) in you want to see some epic road blockage. The railcars creep slowly to a stop, sit for awhile then slowly back up and eventually clear the road. I have seen it shut down for over an hour at times, yee haw ya'll.
I grew up next to commercial train line. Noisy, but fascinating. The trains were all going places and helped me realize there is awhole wide world beyond my own small town. Then I was old enough to ride trains myself. Still a wonderful way to go. Love your channel!
Odd part about the crew member that got on... He wasn't carrying anything. Moving one member from back of train? Would have expected 2 to go on and 2 to come off... The 2 mile long trains moving at VERY slow rates would get me to turn around for a different route in a lot of cases..... especially if I had to be somewhere in a timely manner....
Yeah. Me too. I hear them bells & see lights & I floor it lol. Hamilton is really bad for long slow movers. Out in the back roads of the midwest, back in the day, when a real long train is tying up the whole town & leaving town & picking up speed, we'd chase it to make it to the next crossroad to bust tail over the tracks to get to the other side 😏
Hello from the UK. That second train was really long - about 167 wagons if I counted correctly. And yet there was no DPU. Just think of the weight that the first couplings on that train were pulling. I thought that distribution of these huge weight forces is why DPUs came about.
The second train likely picked up the coil cars from New Miami which is just about 4 miles north of that location. The train will terminate at Queensgate Yd in Cinti which is all downhill from Hamilton. So not quite as bad as you would think.
I enjoy your videos. I road the B&O many times out of Cumberland , Md. to Washington , DC. and back. Fan of the old Western Maryland, road the East Broadtop and a few others. Keep em coming. Thanks.
Very cool! I remember back in the 70s every once in a while I would see a red Western Maryland locomotive on the B&O line near my house. That was always a treat. East Broadtop is a Railfan must. I love that place
@@JawTooth I also did Strausburg before they had a building covering all those Steam Engines and the Cass RR, plus Virginia City, NV. which has a closed Tunnel rumored to have a complete Train in it.
Even as a rail fan I will sometime not want to wait for a long train and will turn around if it's safe to do so and if there is a good alternate route.
I have waited 15 minutes for a passenger train to leave the atation, with the level crossing adjacent to the station. Yep, turned the engine off and took my helmet off. Yep, I was on a motorcycle, so easily could have turned around, but if you have the time, enjoy it.
@@gorillaau Cool, I have seen a few stations like that. There was a station just east of St Louis like that. The passenger train makes a stop and blocks the crossing until the passengers get on and off
My god, as low as that train was moving I think my grandma in her wheelchair could have beaten that train across the tracks once the guards came down, and she's dead
Twice, I'm thinking--she probably could have made it round-trip with a little time to spare. I'm guessing the guy in the Caprice had seen the trains just mess with traffic without needing to, or take forever to get by, more than once. Of course nobody other than a railfan is going to appreciate or hang around for that. Hard to blame them. Most people have schedules to meet.
Unless there was some off camera action, I don’t believe that was a crew change. I believe the van just brought the conductor to the head end. No body got off and only one guy got on with out his grip, which was probably already on the engine.
Must say I would like to see Big Boy 4014 in action. Visited Horse Shoe curve in 1993, stayed in Altoona for three days when it was still Conrail, absolutely fantastic time.

Wow!! Where's the emergency?? What a crazy driver! Crew change...and a train meet. Nice. UP leading a long inter-modal. The CSX manifest was long too. Surprised there was no DPU. Hi Norfie!! Napping the day away again. Chessie sure is happy to see your boy. LOL Thanks again Jaw Tooth!
