Great video. Miss the horns but some good long trains. Cold damp rainy weather😮 not fun. Thanks for braving the elements. Thanks for the video Brian stay well roll on
Thanks for watching! I prefer the horns too. It's been a couple years or so since they did that. Thanks again for the Super Thanks! We just got home from Maysville, Kentucky. We ate at Caproni's next to the railroad and got a train. I think my next trip will be Monday. Thanks again for your support Mark!
Thank you for braving the weather. Great collection of trains. Sharonville (?) telephoto shot is impressive. Always interesting hearing about the spurs and odd lines you see. Cherry on top was the Heritage unit. Looks stunning. Thanks
Thank you for going to Glendale, Ohio on 27 December 2024, Jaw Tooth, to capture the trains on this video. The Tennessee, Alabama & Georgia Railway Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit on the lead of that southbound intermodal train at 11:15 was the bonus on the video. I enjoyed watching all the trains on this video. (Posted on 2 January 2025 at 2031 CST.)
There were some shots from Glendale on VR grab bag yesterday. Love the coal train JT. Nice intermodal, long autorack, long intermodal. Like the CSX mixed manifest too. Fine variety on this video. Thank you JT. ❤
NS 4831 impressed me, lone engine pulling that 1.5 mile long intermodal all by her lonesome with no apparent complaint. She's a Draft Horse. The NS shops can be justifiably proud of their AC44C6M rebuilding program. Excellent view of the TAG Heritage unit Brian. Thank you for sharing it with us. Now go home and thaw out bro!
Brian, thank you for everything you do to bring us the best of middle America railroading! Not only the big guys (CSX, NS), but the short lines (CET, IOR, Dupps) and more! I do enjoy the glimpses into your personal life, the farm, the pets, the soccer games. Thank you for sharing a bit of yourself as well! Every day I look forward to your latest presentation, and those days I see nothing new, I hope nothing bad has happened to you or yours. I hope your holiday went well, and best wishes to you all in the New Year!
JT, brilliant freight trains 🚆 captures bud, it's becoming a very big thing now recording trains,(freight or commuter), it's grabbed a lot of attention in last few years, great auto 🛺 carriages & train capture 👍 very cool 😎well done to the Norfolk Southern unit pulling that long load, love the snippets of History, 👌👏
Well JT I’m glad you got to catch the tag heritage unit that is one beautiful locomotive and I can’t wait till it comes to New Orleans so I can see it in person. The pulling the weight of the world heritage unit was in New Orleans. I think about two weeks ago, and the only woman engineer that runs from Meridian Mississippi to New Orleans, which is a real good friend of mine. She’s the one that got to bring it down, but I had to go up to the tracks around 1230 that night to catch it coming down but anyway my friend another awesome video and you stay warm out there and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
I'm not a railfan like most of you. But where do you like to catch trains? I cross the Huey every day, and like to see what's passing at Central Ave. as I traverse Earhart. Thanks.
@@JawTooth I can never decide the length of the container cars. 53' is the size of the box they can carry. Some websites say their 53' container cars are 77' long coupler to coupler, but these are clearly not that long. More like maybe 60', and the little ones are 40' containers, so maybe 50' coupler to coupler. So, if you count 142 cars as 110 of the sixty footers and 30 of the 50s, you get 1.55 miles total length. So maybe that is close. It must weigh 14,000 tons or so, that is an awful lot for one loco, but it wasn't struggling at all. Impressive. I wonder what the hp of that loco is. Freight trains can go as low as 0.1 hp/ton on flat, clean straight track, but more like 5hp per ton or more, for passenger service.
Hey jaw tooth awesome trains. Still not happy about no train horn zone. I love hearing train horns. If people don't like noise they can move. How's your mouth feeling?. Have a great railroad day.🚂🙋♀️
Awesome railfan videos from Glendale, OH, Jawtooth, I really enjoyed them, thank you. I hope you enjoyed a hot beverage of choice when you finally got home.
Thanks Jaw Tooth for awesome video. The new Virtual Railfan camera, I have checked it out and camped out watching for about a hour yesterday, but did not see any railfans, but saw 3 trains. I had been watching Rochelle, IL camera, but now moved to look at Glendale, OH camera when the Southern Ohio Railfans are not filming. Good place to camp out and kill some time. Jaw Tooth, how old are your kittens? And do they get along with your other cat, Norfie.? Have a great week, the super deep freeze is coming and snow. Your Temps High's in teens to single digit for January 9 the to end of month and your low's in single digits or and below zero. Our highs in Central North Carolina will be in the teens to low 20's and night temps around zero. Better prepare for the deep freeze. suppose to be the coldest January on record for us both. Check out on You-Tube: Direct Weather. Have a great one Jaw Tooth, my friend.
@ no problem man I saw the video of you being in Bristol with NS 126 With UP as rear dpu well I actually caught that exact same train in abingdon and I had no idea about it
Nice catch of the heritage unit. Coal trains are my favorite. Awesome video..If you get a chance take a look at the virtual railcam setup in Porter Indiana. I believe it is Indianas hot spot
I remember one or two trains running the TAG when I was very young. Over the years I've seen the Alabama side of it slowly but surely be earesed. I located the bridge that was at Yellow Creek, I had contacted Cherokee County about it and they tried to retrieve it, or at least a section of it. I think Norfolk didn't want to have that conversation. They ended up selling part of the tracks in Gadsden to the city for a walking trail, The bridge was sitting beside the old tracks where the depot used to be, close to it. They took cutting torches and cut it up for scrap. It was a sad day to see it go. I've seen 80 at TVRM not that long ago. Glad to see both of them on the rails still operating today. Those are some nice looking locomotives.
@@JawTooth We were up there for the ride to the "North Pole". We saw 80 sitting off to the side. However, I guess they were putting it into rotation by the time we came back to the station. I would have loved to ride that train.

I love Glendale even in the rain. Usually my favourite train is a N/S intermodel but today it has to be the N/S heritage TAG UNIT. Very nice livery. Would be interesting to hear what the horn sounded like but not in a no horn zone. That first mixed manifest was pretty impressive too. A great rainy day in Glendsle JT. Hope y'all having a nice Christmas.😊👍🎅💙🤍💛
