Legend has it that the drummer's star ship lost its course in the nether reaches of outer space. The drummer's mental metronome within his head kept beat with the stars at the center of galaxies until he found that he could communicate with them. Over the span of 6 millennia he taught them the essence of rhythm and synced their pulsing to his will. He left tiny pieces of his mind scattered throughout the universe which eventually became the pulsars we know of today.

I began to walk, becoming accustomed to my new body. I was hot. I was glowing with life energy. Every step I took left behind a footprint of substance--life. The first step, a water droplet; the second step, bacteria; The third step, a nematode; The fourth step, a seed of vegetation; the fifth step, a bipedal mammal; the sixth step, humanity; the seventh step, the passage of time; the eighth step, music. I stumbled across this because Rhett Shull (@RhettShull) made a video on this band. It's a deep rabbit hole, but I'm not complaining. Amazed at the seeming simplicity of the music and the relative depth and breadth that is accomplished by a mere three members. DJ is one of the most on-time drummers I have watched and listened to, and with a very simple kit. Thank you all for this one 🙏

I recently saw a showing of the movie "Relentless" in Maui, the story of Dusty Payne, the surfer who almost died after wiping out on Oahu's North Shore. The footage of him surfing was accompanied with this amazing Khruangbin song; Maria Tambien. Outstanding music, excellent surf movie music.
I've watched this clip so many times. They're fantastic! Reminds me of that obscure (and taboo) wave of psychedelic rock that came out of Turkey during the 60's. Feels like soul surf music
This is the video I chose to introduce Khruangbin to my girlfriend because of the outstanding audio production KEXP did in presenting this video. Very well done, guys!

Magical. When I first heard Kruangbin, they were at the opposite end of the universe from the music I was listening to and interested in at the time, but I have grown to appreciate them very much.
Myself also. I literally found Khraungbin on a newspaper wrapped around some new pre amp tubes for my Soldano Hot Rod 50. I've been playing guitar since 74. Mostly rock, hard rock, and rock fusion. Khraungbin were a total surprise. I thought at that time ( about three years ago) that music had gone stale. Now I've been digesting their albums literally learning their songs on guitar and bass. Very refreshing. Thank you Marko, Laura leezy, and DJ. Beautiful vibes.

this band is bringing me back to life
She's so pretty, and everyone here is so talented. Love this band!
every once in a while, we are blessed with the opportunity to watch the reinvention of cool. Very, very cool. I'm now a fan.
Any KEXP upload makes a good day. Thank you
These guys earn every shred of success and fame they get, seriously, what a fantastic sound.
Oh wow. Her awareness towards old Iran came as a nice surprise to me. I was here for the music but that's pretty awesome, these guys are aware of the world's cultures and history.
When you're just plain good....and you don't even act it....then you are the COOLEST. That's this band. Cool without tryin'.......
Groovy is the word
He doing this without any picks. Finger to finger, just smoking. She's hot and a player while the drummer is just so kicked back throwing a beat in every time needed. Luv these guys.
came from tiny desk, to see them on KEXP, will go back to tiny desk, and then come back to KEXP.
Drummer biked there in the afternoon when weather was fine, but now It’s raining hard and he’s quite far from home
Feels like soul surf music
this band is a proper music for LSD
Anatolian Rock.
Laura asks rhetorically: "Who else is going to play guitar like Mark?"
The answer: No one on the planet!
This is the video I chose to introduce Khruangbin to my girlfriend because of the outstanding audio production KEXP did in presenting this video. Very well done, guys!
I'm addicted to this band
Laura Lee should be the standard for everyone's answering machine.
YES
Aman Kumar ..this is the 3rd room
Chris Macdonald YES
You alright?
"YES"
Drummer's got a touch. Looks simple, but it ain't...
Not EXAAAACTLY the same, but he takes me straight back to Billy Cobham.
he is holding it down on that kick drum
His ability to sustain a groove and his metronomic like precision reminds me of Tony Allen the drummer from Fela Kuti's band the Africa 70.
@@dizzlethechef Check out Jaki Liebziedt from the seminal 70's band CAN. Human metronome!

One of the most polarizing bands ever.
If Tarantino made a band this would be it.
Soul, funk and surf music existed way before Tarantino.
No it didn't He invented it.
mojoriden no it wouldn't
he'd stumble upon the almighty Khruangbin by wandering into their sultry, sonic arms like a charmed serpent. with the hugest boner, he'd say to his assistant, "Get Uma's foot on the phone."
Have you seen the Two Fish and an Elephant music video? Basically a homage to Kill Bill.
KEXP. The musical goldmine.
Greetings from Brussels, Belgium.
As a guitar player myself, I'm very happy to see a fellow man of the axe deliver his own sound. A thousand times better than ill ever be! The man an can flat out play!
