It took me almost 30 minutes to watch this entire video because I kept going back several times and pausing to see everything beautiful that happened in this work. As always, it's a pleasure listening to every single music from Khruangbin.
It's crazy how much they can convey without words. It's not even an orchestra with sections of violins and other instruments. They are really out here creating beautiful content with such a simple, limited combination of instruments.
I've been into Thailand and all things Thai since I met my first Thai in 1972 in college. My wife to whom I have been married 45 years is Thai. This video probably was filmed in Pattaya or such. Very eclectic. Thai have a strong sense of personal identity and know how to laugh at themselves and this brings that out very well. The women do not want to be darkened from the sun thus the face coverings and such. The sticky rice with ripe mango covered in coconut milk looks delicious, classic Thai desert. Kruang is "machine", "bin" is "to fly", thus flying machine aka airplane. Thai puts adjective behind the noun like Spanish. The music is very penetrating and cerebral.
It's an iconic sound and look, but that has more to do with the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly trilogy, and Pulp Fiction, and orientalism, and California-ism... some iconic style converges here. They need a huge mainstream hit before this sound and the band merge into iconic.
I LOVE LOVE THIS! This video really captures Thailand's touristy beaches with all the tourists--Chinese, Indian, Western, speedo hunks & "influencers"--that crowd these beaches. But the awesome music and the story so humanizes the locals and the Wes Anderson romance was just perfect. This track is one of KB's top.

That’s beautiful. And the slow incline, as the tension and suspense started building up with the boy crying over the girl being amused by the other kids competing for attention, the girl being annoyed at seeing him cry, and the gradual fulfillment of the kiss timed nicely with the sunset, was spot-on.
I agree with you, @gab_ale I thought the video was about to get REALLY WEIRD and I was like "wait what the hell?" And then it just turned out to be sweet. Can't wait for the new album 😍 🙌🏻
Nothing weird about a Thai tourist beach? Okay boss... They accentuated the more innocent of the weird aspects, in a very cinematic way of course, for this video. Loads of music videos are weird - it's kind of a thing.

This is a best video I have seen this year on TH-cam. This deserves an Oscar. So beautifully put together with the music and scenery and all the actors make you feel like being there i the moment. And in those almost 5 minutes I lost myself in the story as if I traveled to this place and spend a whole afternoon in there. My circle of friends and I are HUGE Khruangbin fans, and after a magical show two summers back we spent the following day in the pool of their housing complex convincing two 75+ yr olds on site to get on board as we played their music, by the end of the afternoon the couple was like "We NEED this band in our lives". It's magical how their sound appeals to all generations. The power of Khruangbin!

What does Khruangbin stand for?
The casting was great. The kids were fantastic, and that was a sweet backflip. Ten on ten.
It returns to childhood, where you have uncomplicated relationships without any requirements. And it gives some warm feeling.
