- In this video I show you how to tame dire bears, and some difficulty you may run into while taming them. Other than Tranq arrows killing around level 35 around 30% of the time, there isn't too much trouble taming this creature.

Golden rules in Ark for EVERYTHING
Step 1: Open few write notes on island to fast level up
Step 2 : Go to the Crystal isles and passive tame Crystal Wyverns
Step 3 : Tame female Wyvern as well
Step 4 : Kill everything around the knocked tames
Step 5 : Rule the world

One thing not mentioned - their movement speed. It takes a few moments to build up momentum, but once you're at max speed, it's one of the fastest mounts in the game (significantly faster than a Gallimimus, for example).
Finally, someone used a bear trap in ark for a *actual bear*

Back when my husband and I were on a server together I wanted a Dire bear so bad. I set up tranq traps to have it run through along with tranq arrows. It worked really well.
Fun fact: you can keep up their hp when taming, simply build a trap, lure them in, and when theyre about to die...throw them a dodo or two, or just small carcases

You could do Liopleurodon next because around the end of July it got a huge boost that makes people keep it for 6 HOURS.

You can also use the narcotic traps to get it partially knocked out then use a crossbow

2:55 I've tamed a dire bear but I waited every few seconds after the shot about maybe 5 or ten just to make sure I didnt kill it hope this helps someone
Also u can use the magnifying glass to see it’s health and torpor in case this also helps

I've used a combo of both cause I ran out of the darts. Works in knocking it out.
I was getting my sap trap in the redwood with my Rex and I forgot that my Rex was on passive and my flak armor about to break when I find a Dire bear and tried to tame one
My absolute favorite land mount. I play on my solo map with modified settings and tamed a bear at lvl 120. Now my bear is lvl 235 and hits for 602 dammage on a swipe attack and no I didn't change any damage multipliers.

In the first Part, you can let bear eat something so he heals, like a human corpse
I use a large bear trap and surround it with pillars it work like a charm for most dinos that size

My favourite dino in ARK, fast, powerful and a able to store a lot. Just getting back into ARK after a rest and can't wait to tame another. I used to go on absolute expeditions with my old one lol.
The 3x3 square pillar set up is the easiest way to tame a Dire Bear in my opinion. I tamed mine with honey. If I remember rightfully honey is nearly as good as kibble to tame.
Does the Dire Bears speed still increase overtime when you're running?
Yes
I actually managed to tame a 140 dire bear with a crossbow and a magnifying glass. Admittedly, I got really lucky with the stats, but if you use the magnifying glass to wait for the torpor and health to rise, taming higher level bears can potentially be done. However, tranq darts are still the better option if you have them.
Btw if u stand in a large bear trap it doesn’t effect you

My Bear can kill almost anything not including a giga or titanosaur and all that, is that normal because I feel like it’s a bit strange how I can like 5 shot a low level rex and easily kill a high level one I found him at 150 (before tame boost) and maxed it out to 308 he does 1000% damage and has 12000 health and he feels way too strong for just a bear I play on single player so I’m confused is that normal or is there something wrong with my bear

You could feed the bear a corpse. It heals it to full health and torpor doesn't go down
My new favorite taming method is to use a Snow Owl to heal the wild animal when it looks like their health is getting too low. Then I just use my crossbow as usual.

I tamed a 120 fire bear this morning with primitive tranq arrows. It took like 50 but I’m level 97.

I tamed my first dire bear. I tamed it with berries and it was low level so it’s a bit rubbish but I like it. It’s female and called yogi

I usec Scorpion with 290dmg and it took 15 min to knock out but it was good lvl 130

For my fellow Bear tamers that want to use a decent crossbow always best to kill a creature nearby and leave its corpse near. While tranqing bear and it is attacking you lead it to corpse and while trying to attack you it will eat corpse and gain health.

I used raw prime fish meat on polar dire bear lvl 47
After viewing almost every video that involves carnivores, I declare that raw mutton is officially *useless for taming*
It's not useless but it's rare to find that's why people don't use it.

Hey, T! I wanted to ask why would anyone even consider cooked meat for a tame? It's easier to just get the food, than cooking it too.
He is recommending cooked Prime Meat just over Raw Mutton because Prime Meat is easier to get than Mutton (unless u have a ovis farm). Also, the Raw Prime/Mutton Meat spoils quickly than their Cooked forms.
