Yasuke is the first protagonist that actually isn’t an assassin. Even Kassandra, Eivor and Shay were assassins, just not the capital A ones. Edit: I am not sure if everyone is understanding the difference between ‘Assassin’ and ‘assassin’ so here is an explanation: “assassin” is a silent killer, usually because of different believes. “Assassin” (notice the clear capital A here) is a member of the Assassin Brotherhood. You can be an assassin that isn’t from the Brotherhood, which is what Kassandra, Eivor and Shay and I believe even Haytham were. You can also be an Assassin that isn’t an assassin, though I don’t recall AC having given any examples so far. Although I guess it kinda makes sense since that would go against their “hide in plain sight” tenet.

After akechi killed Nobunaga, Akechi saved him as saying "Since he was a beast and not a Japanese, he does not understand anything", and sent him to the Jesuit church. He was not considered as a samurai even nor warrior.

AC has always had elements of fiction to accomodate the plot, but it never twisted cultures the way they did in Shadows. Assassins in previous games had honor, they paid respect to the people they assassinated because no one was right or wrong, but Yasuke, as depicted in Shadows, barges into a town, mutilates guards, and beheads a disarmed enemy. Where's the honor? If Yasuke is "supposed" to be a "samurai" in this game, then why is he not following the Bushido? As a long-time fan of this series, AC: Shadows disgusts me, as well as Ubisoft's "apology" letter.

Yasuke is the first protagonist that actually isn’t an assassin. Even Kassandra, Eivor and Shay were assassins, just not the capital A ones.
Edit: I am not sure if everyone is understanding the difference between ‘Assassin’ and ‘assassin’ so here is an explanation:
“assassin” is a silent killer, usually because of different believes.
“Assassin” (notice the clear capital A here) is a member of the Assassin Brotherhood. You can be an assassin that isn’t from the Brotherhood, which is what Kassandra, Eivor and Shay and I believe even Haytham were. You can also be an Assassin that isn’t an assassin, though I don’t recall AC having given any examples so far. Although I guess it kinda makes sense since that would go against their “hide in plain sight” tenet.

Theres are "no" historical primary sources that prove Yasuke as a "samurai" (= high-rank warrior with horseback).
Whole historical primary sources are only three: they can be shown 1-2 A4 pages.
African samurai by Thomas Lockley and Geoffrey Girard is a story of 480 pages: 99 % statements in the book are fiction.
Yasuke was a slave of Jesuit. He was given to Oda Nobunaga, and became a luggage carrier of him. After akechi killed Nobunaga, Akechi saved him as saying "Since he was a beast and not a Japanese, he does not understand anything", and sent him to the Jesuit church. He was not considered as a samurai even nor warrior.

制作の人々が日本と黒人をどう見ているのかよく分かる映像でした。
キャラも舞台も外側だけ立派で、整合性も中身も一切ない。
他国の文化や精神性を完全に無視し、自国の精神だけはしっかりと表現する、そんなグロさがこれにはあります。

また、黒人であるかも怪しく、彼はインド人であったという歴史家もいます。実際、彼が黒人なのかインド人なのか分かっていません。分かっているのは弥助という名前と一度も戦争に行った事がない事、そして召使いだったことくらいです
言い方は極端だけど、ペット的存在…といえば確かにそうなのかなと思います。
弥助は単に小姓なのではなく、権力者が連れている獅子とかマスティフとかオオカミ犬みたいな権力を誇示する巨大な動物と、昔の王様に仕えてた派手な宮廷道化師(jester)と、盾持ちである従騎士(Esquire)が混ざった感じだったように思えます。
村の入口に鳥居はない。稲を植えようが刈ろうが桜が咲いてるから時期が合わない。桜がソメイヨシノっぽくて時代に合わない(ソメイヨシノは江戸時代から)
桜が咲いてるのに柿やリンゴがあるのもおかしい。戦じゃない限り兜や鎧は着ない。場内は土足厳禁なのに堂々と草履を履いてる。
そもそも家臣だろうがなんだろうが織田信長の家紋を付けて他の村で人殺ししてたら織田家が攻撃されても仕方ない事案。なぜお辞儀をしてる？他の国の村だぞ？？自国じゃない限りそんなに侍は偉くない。
この戦国時代は基本的に内戦しまくりで皆が荒れ狂ってた時代で一つのミスで大変な事になる(例えば鐘に国家安康・君臣豊楽と書いて家康がブチ切れて大坂の陣へと発展する)
なのでこの主人公は天下の大うつけ者になります。ついでにUbisoftも四季も時代も知らない大うつけ者。
城内で鎧兜を身に付けてるってことは福知山城が籠城戦の真っ最中ってことなんですけどね
サムライは常に鎧を着てるはずって思い込みはビデオゲームWizardryの影響です

次に敬意を持った表現で戦国時代を描く事に注力したとありますが、その結果がコレですか？つまり挑発をしていると受け取っても良いのでしょうか？
ようやくフィクションであるという表現がでましたが、何に対して適応しているのか全く不明瞭です。史実の人物を使用しているのにも関わらず、弥助が侍であることは否定しないと言うように受け取りました。明確に侍という設定であり、これは史実には基づかないと海外に発信してください。
侍の議論があるのを認識しているのなら、それはあくまでゲーム内設定であり、フィクションだと公言できるはずですが？
日本人ではない、つまり私たちの目になれる存在とはどう言った意図での発言でしょうか？私の解釈では日本人では海外の方々と認識が共有できないと受け取っております。
なぜオリジナルキャラクターを不採用にしたのでしょうか？シリーズを通して歴史上の人物がプレイアブルになった事は無いのですが、オリジナルの日本人男性を採用しなかった経緯をお聞かせください。

@@田中洋-d1wI am very sorry for all Japanese people. I'm a fan of Assassin's Creed from the first entry in the series up to Revelations, and I can see how the franchise has lost its tracks. AC has always had elements of fiction to accomodate the plot, but it never twisted cultures the way they did in Shadows. Assassins in previous games had honor, they paid respect to the people they assassinated because no one was right or wrong, but Yasuke, as depicted in Shadows, barges into a town, mutilates guards, and beheads a disarmed enemy. Where's the honor? If Yasuke is "supposed" to be a "samurai" in this game, then why is he not following the Bushido? As a long-time fan of this series, AC: Shadows disgusts me, as well as Ubisoft's "apology" letter.

that Naoe gameplay is genuinely the best AC has looked in years. I cant remember the last time we so much emphasis on stealth mechanics, its a shame they didn't build the game entirely around her, would have been a quintessential assassins creed title.
Glad they saw and took the opportunity to add YASUKE though. Incredibly cool concept
Mirage? It had far more gadgets and tools with added variations. Honestly that stealth is looking like it'll remain better than this.
