- Hello!! Today i'm going through my TOP 10 Best creatures to tame on the new Fjordur map, these are definitely creatures that will make your life a whole lot easier while surviving out there! And ofcourse discussing why they're so good and what their best abilities can do!

Fjordhawks are also useful for fast travelling. Normally with a bed, if you try to fast travel it will drop your items but the Fjordhawk brings them to you. Very useful tame.

Something I like to do is black box my weight with metal from dunkle runs and just fast travel home, you can do the same with an anky but of course this is more practical for single player since it’s not easy to build a checkpoint at every metal area
Yeah I thought off that but never knew it actually worked since I haven’t tamed one
And otters are great for exploration to find new places to put new beds to fast travel to. A perfect pair of tames.
There is a 1 hour cooldown when you die with a hawk

The desmodus is also very good at gathering spoiled meat, if you harvest the corpse of a dino you get a ton of spoiled meat which makes it a lot quicker to make narcotics

I think one of the most underrated features of the snow owl is no inertia when stopping in the air! being able to instantly stop is such a nice and under appreciated feature :)
The maewing’s nursing effectiveness also increases the food effectiveness for the babies by 1% per point invested, and I believe it even works on nameless venom for rock drake babies
What would 156% nursing effectiveness give me
@@jakec1198 take the food value of whatever they’re eating and add 56%, so like (I’ve been out of ark a few days now so I’m not totally sure on the number) I believe raw meat for babies is 50 food, with 156% it would give 78 food each time making the baby eat less often. Combined with a (I believe female mate-boosted) Procoptodon you could reduce consumption by 50% as well if you wanted to min-max it

This ark myth has been debunked by having twins and using a fully lvled maewing and an unleveled maewing they both became full grown at the same time
@@snillum5004 um, I said nothing about growth speed? I spoke simply about the amount of food given to babies per food item consumed? Unless you’re talking about the rock drake part, in which case I’m still not sure growth speed is relevant, but I never claimed to be an expert, nor did I say for certain so I don’t know why you have to depict yourself snickering like a young know it all who’s correcting someone over common sense knowledge

I was so happy playing this map recently given they added the rock drake, 1 of my favorite dinos ever added
There are rock drakes on vanaheim (midgard) as well. Towards the upper middle part of the grasslands there is a cave. There are shinehorns rollrats and a karkinos. There is also a a couple nice loot drops. The rock drakes are after the cavern with sabertooth salmon.

@@unluckyluchiano6092 yes, but he clearly means the vanaheim part of the map while in midguard. If you pull out your map they are in the same exact area that you’d spawn in for vanaheim I believe

Sure isn't a usual tame. But have enjoyed getting myself a Fenrir. Insane starts. Ice armor etc. Is lot of fun to ride around on. And with a pack, oh my .. sure, need to kill a boss to even get one but it's worth it.
I could see many uses for that mini gun in PVE so many possibilities to troll dinos.

Andrewsarchus’s are super underrated for pvp. They are great at dashing bases with c4 strapped to the player inside while running at full speed

I found that with the Desmodus and the Elixir, if you give the 30% imprint then cryo and release the baby, you can do it again and again. (I use the Dino Storage v2 Soul Traps, but I assume it works with regular Cryopods as well.)

This doesn't work with standard cryo pods on official.
@@taylormay9938 - really? Maybe it doesn't work on non-official with Soul Traps anymore either, perhaps they patched it.
Why not just use the "cheat kill" command? Its much easier

I am quite happy to say, I stole two 175 eggs (I have my single player override pretty high, so a 175 isn’t too rare, but still exciting) and they ended up being male and female. Sadly all 3 170’s were male, but I digress. 😆

Joined a random server yesterday, found an unclaimed Desmodes (whatever) and claimed it. Haven't been able to craft a saddle yet but now I'm super excited to.
One of the best creatures in the game! :D
I've to this day still tame one and use it to act as an incubator for those tricky eggs. Easier to breed and mutate a good incubator than farm and craft enough AC's to start a new Ice Age.

Great video. An honorable mention: Dunkleo, very easy to tame and come in X variant..There is oil, stone, and metal in huge abundance in the sea.

@@miniplayz2806 on Fjordur they stay still on the bottom and sometimes beached by the Swamp most of the time they don't fight back either they tend to try to get away from you it's very different behavior of these dunkleo than any other map
@@bradtolch that imo causes more problems mine constantly ran into OP megalodon packs with +6 pack boost mate boost and alpha boost cuase alpha megalodons are everywhere.

Thanks mate! Rock Drake is better overall for combat but the Maewing is so good and much easier to tame, Maewing is amazing for looking after babies which is why I mainly use them! I'm also on Xbox Series X :)

Yeah same, (Off topic) I use a Griffin alot to traverse too, would personally pick it over the Fjordhawk as I really don't find it useful myself haha! It is a cool creature!

Desmo help plz i wanna know how much bloodpacks to bring idk what settings are at but for guideline it takes over 24 hours for me to raise a mosasaurus
If you're on breeding setting like that you probably have boosted taming, i'd always play it safe though and bring 100 for yourself and 100 for your Daeodon/Moschops you're using!

Andrewsarchus minigun isn't useless on PvE, some people on my server beat the Overseer with just a pair of em. Shit ton of ammo required though lmfao. As for the Fjordhawk, I've found them next to useless, but that's only because I'm not sticking to just Fjordur, I got Sinomacrops from Lost Island and with one of those, death is super rare for me. As well as them being able to bring you 1 wyvern egg is ok, but if you just grow some balls and kill the wyverns, you can just take all of them XD
Yeah they ain't bad tbh I just don't think they are worth the trouble of making so many bullets as they do chew through them. I 100% agree with the Fjordhawk,I actually haven't even tamed one on my playthrough yet, every time i've got Wyvern eggs i've killed them with my Griffin or Desmodus or just flew off. I feel like alot of people benefit from them though which is why I added them in, I personally would have left them out and would rather have a Basilosaurus, Gacha or something else (which is more useful to me) replace it haha.
Also agree that the Sinomacrops is 100 times better than the Fjordhawk, I found myself missing them alot from this map!
@@BEYPlaysGames yeah, the bullets are super costly, the only effective part about that strategy is they only needed 2 tames lol. And see?! My point made right there 🤣 yeah alot of players probably do benefit from Fjordhawks, but you reached the same conclusion I did, that wyverns aren't really all that tough lmao. Griffs and bats can take em out no problem because of their terrible turn radius vs griffin or desmodus having helicopter style handling AND the ability to fire weapons from their backs. And it's actually crazy how useful the Lost Island tames are for Fjordur, not only Sinomacrops, but Amargasaurus makes Jotunheims cold a joke 🤣 and personally, I think Dinopithecus can easily be counted among the best caving tames available. But if I had to pick from what's available on Fjordur, Basilosaurus or Gacha is a good choice, but also, R-Thyla 💯
@@unluckyluchiano6092 Haha true! Nah they are not, they can't even use their breath attack once you get close with the Desmodus, i'd also definitely pick a Griffin over the Fjordhawk any day too! Agreed! Love the Dinopithecus too! Oh yes!! The R-Thyla, their colours are amazing too!
After getting a maewing i cant be bothered flying other tames because they feel so slow
shadowmane are not the only natural armor mount, dire wolves for example
Direwolves don't have natural armour :D The Fenrir is the only other creature that does and it's locked behind the boss fight!
Desmodus is too op!
i wonder if you can use a kangaroo and the elixir together to boost the imprint bonus??
You should be able to use the Kangaroo to boost the infant stage or however long they can stay in the pouch for at least and then use the Elixir when they're too big to use the pouch any more, would probably give the best of both worlds i'd like to think!

X-Rock Elemental is the best to tame once you have cryos.They can be found in the Magmasaur cave.
Thats where i found 2 in single player one i tamed the other i killed. they havent respawned since, which is annoying me. lol
Way better then the Giga at boss fights.

@@lazygamer7176 Yeah they're good for not taking alot of damage and do a decent amount of damage themselves but it's a fact that Giga's do more damage than a Rock Elemental so it just depends what you prefer really, Giga saddles are easier to find too so I'd just prefer to use a giga and I personally think they're easier to tame too :D
Still think shadowmains need a huge nerf in. Pvp and to think I thought the mana was bad

U did not put the otter over magma's and left out that magma's like one shot builds and take reduce dmg to bullets to the head

@@CassiePassie11 No worries at all!! If you have the Genesis season pass purchased, you will have a Noglin Chibi every time you die and respawn back in, only will work if you have the option selected in settings to enabled 'default survivor items' hopefully I made sense! 🙂

I don't think you can use them on Aberration sadly!

Ok actually its super strong my bad. Imunitys, jump and speed alone can make your early game and rock drake stealing sooooo much easier!

I flew through a cave with a griffin so the bat isnt the only flyer who can do that.
You must be on a server that enables cave flying :D unless official servers have changed since I last played!

I'm pretty sure we can just ignore the Fenrir as I personally don't even think they're that good and you can't even tame them until you finish the final boss fight, can't even breed them after that either which really sucks!

If there was a top 11/12 I would add them to it, I use them a lot! I personally would love to drop the Fjordhawk and Andrewsarchus from the list and add either a Griffin, Gacha or Theri, I don't really find the Fjordhawk as useful as the majority of people which is the only reason why I added it and once I reach mid-late game I find I don't really use the Andrewsarchus much but they are great beginner tames for anyone with all their abilities and how easy they are to tame! I'd definitely get a good bashing not adding the new creatures to a TOP 10 list though haha.

Yes the list is PVE based! I would agree it is far more useful for PVP purposes!
Is there someone who is able to make me a server on Fjordur somehow? I want to be able to play with just my friends if it’s possible without the f’in tether and it would be great if somebody was somehow able to make one for me. If you can please let me know.
They cost money to run so not many people will be willing.

@@t3mpestgp935 Go to the settings and instead of just sliding the tether up, type in a value of 9999999999999. The tether will be so long that you can basically ignore it, when moving the slider it only goes up a little but you can just put a super high value in instead and negate the tether

Not sure if they're available yet but look up a couple videos on buying and setting up a server on xbox, they start at like 10-15 bucks a month if you and your mates want to go in together/take turns paying for a month each ect
