  • In this first drive video, we tell you all the positives and negatives of Mahindra XUV400 EV, the company's first all-electric SUV. Though it's based on the same platform as the XUV300, the XUV400 is longer by 200mm and has a bigger boot of 378-litres. It gets a 39.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is claimed to offer an ARAI-certified range of 456kms - highest in its segment. It's also claimed to offer the best-in-class performance with its 148bhp, 310-Nm producing motor. It can do 0-100kmph in 8.3 seconds, and has a top-speed of 160kms. The company hasn't spoken anything about its price and battery/motor warranty, as the launch is still 4 months away. stay tuned to ICN Studio for all the updates on this.

      At the moment EV max. But after Jan2023, comparison reviews might change my mind. I feel by Jan 2023, Tata might update Nexon again, they’re already market leader in EV with 3-4 EV models successfully selling and running. Let’s wait and watch, as an Indian consumer, I am proud and excited.

    The most significant concern for potential customers of EV's is the range & how close is it to the proclaimed figures. Indian car manufacturers should start investing & developing hybrid technologies at the same time.

    Nexon max with 40.5 kwh battery gives 350-380 km range without AC and decent speed. Now mahindra claimed larger size and 39.3 kwh battery.
    I think it also give 300-350 km. Unfortunately the cars they provide for review does not reflect the battery consumption. That creates more doubts on my mind.
    Tata' EV is already tested. So it is better to go Nexon or Tigor EV.

    To be honest except for Top, M logo on front, back & XUV400 badge on rear in Copper all other in Cooper looks too much or over designed.
    In the interior that subtle use of cooper highlighted looks just OK.
    Otherwise like XUV300, XUV400EV is terrific Package.
    If they price it well against Nexon EV MAX only than XUV400 EV might sell in big nos. It does offer Spacious Cabin with good comfortable Rear Seat. Increase in Bootspace also improves the overall package.
    Nothing to complain about the Size, Space & Overall Package.
    Hope Mahindra price XUV400 EV well to stamp its presence in the SUV eV segment.
    I have no Idea what so ever of Water Wading Capacity & Short-Circuit Danger it might poses if submerged in water logging as the battery packs are placed at the bottom part of body.

    I need to buy SUV(1.5 L naturally aspirated preferred). Budget is around 15L with a buffer of 1-2 lakhs. Running is less about 200-300 km per month.
    I need good SUV for long drives including Hills. I can wait for few months before making my decision. I am not a very enthusiastic driver but need enough power for overtaking and enough Torque for hills. We are a family of 4 and looking for at least 5 seater with good leg room at the rear as we all are tall. I am not thinking much about Turbo.

    Requirement are below:
    Safety (possibly 5 star) , 4 wheels disk break and all the airbags
    Automatic Gear Box
    Good Ground Clearance
    Mileage (we can consider Hybrid as well)
    Resale Value and Good service

    I thought a lot about New Brezza, Kushaq, S-Cross(new facelift). If facelift of XUV300 comes with Automatic gear box(Not AMT) then I can think about it.
    Now a days I am also thinking about New Grand Vitara(strong and mild both) but not sure about the safety/strength of this SUV. Please recommend other options as well. XUV400 as well

      Jitni abhi hai untni sab is video mein hai. Baaki warranty aur charging time waigarah ki exact information launch pe hi pata chalegi jo ki January mein hoga.

    Nexon definitely is a matured and value for money product than this except Power. I am pretty sure Mahindra will project this car for more than 17-18 lacs and May be more after intro prices.

    2016 old model xuv300 is converted to Battery and launched as xuv400.. Extended body back side is seen bulging.. Looks like M&M is trying to test the EV market with this product..

    The TATA Nexon is a modern looking vehicle while this clearly isn’t.When I first drove the XUV3OO diesel I was blown away by the comfort levels. XUV4OO has its work cut out.The most disappointing thing about the XUV4OO are it’s black interiors and outdated looking console.

    Nickel-Cobalt-Magnesium nhi, Manganese hoga...That's basically a lithium ion battery only. The cathode is made of NMC.The other option is Lithium-Iron-Phosphate, which is little more stable, little less toxic and probably little less expensive. I guess pondering over such things makes me socially awkward. 😄

    Sir but something is missing very hardly it's looks like a small v have to grow in xuv700 type in ev suv 400 in short is I want to tell u that ficture should be like XUV 700 type in XUV 400 ev this is my personal opinion an i am only tell u that 12lakh it will doing tell them start price with 15lakh then see it how much unit Mahendra sir will selling it's my personal opinion

    Boxy small hatchbacks or crossovers are taking the name of SUV just because of high ground clearance. Sad that people are forgetting longer good looking mid size sedans and taking boxy smaller length cars.

    It was mistake from mahindra to launch such a good vehicle xuv300 with sub 4 meter version and getting criticism for boot slace. They should have launched it with full length like xuv400 and compete with creta and seltos. It could have been super hit.

    It's just a stop-gap arrangement to compete with Nexon, till the time they come out with their BE line up. Interiors not impressive at all; just a straight copy from XUV 300, with some features pared down.
