- Significantly less mistakes than my previous glitchless Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D run. I don't think I really want to grind this category, so unless there's new developments this will probably be my last run for a while. It's pretty fun though and I'm glad I ran it.

1st run got 4th place. 2nd run got WR, moves on to next game. Gym isn't only speedrunning the games, he's speedrunning the leaderboards

I know everyone says "I fall asleep to this" but I seriously would have not slept last night without a Gymnast video playing (ZFG is my favorite but Gym is #2). I hope these runners know that it isn't an insult or think it's weird. There is something comforting listening to someone playing a game you love. I still rewatch the parts I missed the next day. Gym and ZFG are like ambien for me in the best way

@@inazumarai7690 It has been a while since I saw this...but as I recall...he does a trick in Dodongo's Cavern (DC). This trick lets him skip almost the entire first part of the dungeon. Now the discussion in the comments was whether or not. I just gave my 2 cents :)

@@bobby4tw Basically all that is happening is when you backwalk off the edge and hold forward before you fall, you retain that speed and project it forward (as if you jumped off said ledge) and you can grab the upper ledge if your angle is correct, we also do this is same strategy in the original game aswell

Here's how I think of glitches, bugs, and exploits:
A glitch is where there's nothing wrong with the code itself, but there's a strange interaction between two sections of it.
A bug is a direct programming error. For me to classify it as a bug, it has to be an actual mistake, rather than an unforseen interaction.
An exploit is a rules - rather than a code - interaction, though a glitch or bug may be involved.
For a simple example, the Fortification Loop in Skyrim is - despite this being a bethsoft game - a pure exploit of the rules of Fortify effects, rather than an actual bug or glitch. It's a mistake in the rules rather than the code. Meanwhile, the horse catapult is a glitch where multiple parts of the code are interacting in weird ways, making it a glitch as opposed to a bug.
As a more complex example, there is an exploit in Kingdoms of Amalur that lets you get to level twenty without leaving the first town by infinitely selling, buying, and reselling a ring at a profit and then selling and infinitely rebuying experience potions that restock themselves in a merchant inventory because of a bug or glitch (not sure which it is) in the inventory of the lottery merchant. The bug/glitch is in the inventory, which changes the rules, and then you exploit that change.
If gymnast or other speedrunners are interested on OoT 3d glitchless, the individual level categories are mostly empty.

He didn’t go out of bounds or hover, the bomb just bounced him. You can reach that ledge at adult link so it is meant to be climbed!
One thing I have learned about watching speedruns is that glitch is not the same thing as not intended capability. Bombs are meant to fling you away from them and that ledge is meant to be climbed. Just because the developers (probably) didn't expect you to use a bomb to fling you over there doesn't mean it is a glitch. Communities for speed runs generally get together and come up with a ruling for what is/isn't a glitch and if that was in the route, it is fairly safe to assume it isn't considered a glitch. Plus speedrun submissions are usually approved before being accepted on a leaderboard so if that was considered a glitch, it wouldn't be accepted even if the runner tried to pass it as allowed. Finally, I trust that gym wouldn't try to cheat a speedrun.

I find speed runners a joke. what's the point? this shouldn't even be a thing. and don't get it twisted and any negative or what ever bullshit you gonna comment on this will not get a reaction from me. this shit is a disgrace to the decent and hard working people who work on video games
