There are lots of Hindi speaking living in Nepal but we have never said them Indian.. Hindi speaking man have became president, Vice President, ministers many times in Nepal but it's unfortunate that non of single Nepali speaking Indian have reached to such position in India..there is a lot discrimination in India!!

My dear Nepalese people, please don’t get offended using the name Gorkha, our forefathers are from Gorkha and deployed this part of the Nepal before Anglo Nepalese War. However, with the treaty of Sugauli the land and the people got aparted from the main land Nepal. The king of Nepal at that time had no option to fight back for his people and territory. Now after ages we the gorkhas ko santaan had been facing identity crisis since ages now and fighting to have that identity for the land and for the people. We didn’t crossed the border, the border crossed us after the king lost to British and surrendered many region in the treaty. Now, in reality the Nepal’s Leaders can’t claim back the territory and the people. With the Indian constitution we are fighting to our extend to get that Gorkhas Identity back to people and to the land here. We love you and no one can deny that we are Gorkhas, we are Bir Nepali. But treaty of Saugali has changed everything and the Nepali people from this part of India are being called foreigners in our own land. You missed the name of Sri Ganeshlal Subba who was the chief architect of "Gorkhasthan" . In 1946 , as District Secretary of the undivided CPI , he drafted the said memorandum for the creation of "Gorkhasthan " which was jointly signed by Sri Ganeshlal Subba(Secy, CPI) & Sri Ratanlal Brahmin (President, CPI)) submitted to the then Constituent Assembly. Later in 1980, Sri Subash Ghissing took the cue from the name "Gorkhasthan" to "Gorkhaland" & in the fag end of the violent agitation he mysteriously accepted Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) whose jurisdiction was restricted within the three hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling district. In fact, DGHC's area was much much less than the erstwhile Zilla Parishad's jurusdiction which covered the whole of Darjeeling district including Siliguri sub-division & its HQ was located in the Red Cross premises in Darjeeling town. Further, in 1988 after the signing of the tripartite agreement for the DGHC, surprisingly for the first time in he history of India, the then leftist state government in addition to the existing Siliguri Municipality created Siliguri Mahukuma Parishad(SMC) & Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) for the development of Siliguri sub-division alone. It's an irony that since Independence to till date, successive state governments', the so called DGHC & the present experimental (sic!) GTA have completely failed to improve the basic infrastructure of the hills & the basic needs of its residents like drinking water, garbage management, random construction of high rise buildings violating the norms, extremely pathetic traffic management, lack of parking facility for private & self driven tourist vehicles etc. The work for the widely publicized "Nal se Jal" scheme of Honb'le PM is yet incomplete & from so many decades, Darjeeling residents are compelled to buy water from tankers to supplement their basic daily requirement !

State of Sikkim should be integrated into Gorkhaland statehood movement. Linguistic influences of Gorkhas are very much evident in Sikkim as they speak in Nepali for general day to day communication. A little brotherhood from Sikkim is a prerequisite and would be a good gesture to finally merge into one big state called GorkhaLand.

Nepali/ Nepalese refers to all those Gorkhas, Marwari, Yadav, Jha, Mondal, Ali, Hussain who are citizens of Nepal, and does not identify any jatiyata, but only rashtriyata. The Marwari, Yadav, Jha, Mondal, Ali, Hussain of Nepal are equally Nepali as those Gorkhas of Nepal. That's why Nepal had Nepali Yadav as 1st President, and Nepali Jha as 1st Vice President. Whereas Bengali, Tamil, Punjabi, etc do not identify as any citizenship but a jaatiyata. A Bengali of India will not identify himself as Bangladeshi, neither a Punjabi of Pakistan as Indian, nor a Tamil of Srilanka as Indian. I m not a Nepali, coz m Indian. But being a Gorkha i m definitely culturally/ socially/ linguistically same as the Gorkhas (Khas & Kiraati tribes) of Nepal and hence well connected to them. Pls note: Neither all Gorkhas are Nepalese/ Nepali nor all Nepali/ Nepali are Gorkhas. I am very clear of my identity & roots, and neither m i denying our cultural affinity with the Gorkhas of Nepal. The only point is that it's to wrong identify ourselves as Nepali/ Nepalese jaati as once u visit Nepal and see for yourself as to what does Nepali really mean in present day!!!! @@abhei1226 because they originated from present Nepal, they still hav their concentrated distinct regions in Nepal, culturally, traditionally, linguistically n religiously very much intact to their tribes, where at one time they were ruling their own respective independent kingdoms before house of gorkha unified them all.
Constitutionally, Darjeeling is a partially excluded area. Meaning, Darjeeling Districts regional identity yet remains to be decided. So forcing people of this region to speak Bangla is wrong. Infact, given the historical background of this region, also, keeping in mind the rights of indigenous people, it should be part of SIKKIM. Britishers were gifted this area by THE KING OF SIKKIM in return of an annual compensation. When Britishers left it should have been reunited with it’s original place. Some times I think this whole issue of Gorkhaland is to divert people’s attention from it. People will keep fighting over something which is not possible and politicians will keep benefitting. We could already see the kind of corruption going on in the hills. Nature is being destroyed, unregulated constructions going on and indigenous people are being denied their rights. Gorkhaland or not, but if people here will keep losing their indigenous identity then it will definitely become a general land.
I guess that Gorkhaland agitation was a congress govt project to protect Northeast region, at that time communism was rapidly gaining its influence in north east and south india, and Nepal then were trying to get its former land back from india through resolution in the UN councill, if the agenda of Greater Nepal would have entered the mind of darjeeling people before gorkhaland, then the whole northeast would have been easy to decouple from india and annex it ( i guess it was in chinese interest to provok nepal to do so), hence it was a well planned national security measure, during the agitation many communist leaders were killed which is not in the record

At the time of independence 1947, darjeeling had been given the option by British to choose where to go. As people of darjeeling were well educated at that time ,Nepal was afraid that Nepal will be ruled by darjeeling so Nepal rejected to accept darjeeling. Nah, Gorkhaland movement if you see has roots in communism, it was initially chiya bari Andolan where people were instigated to stand up against the factory owners for more wages and a say in working of the factory. It was later given a identity factor so as to spread this chiya bari movement across the entire region. Even today at the heart of Gorkhaland movement is the idea of socialism. We are essentially fight for more market control, a say in local resources and more involvement in the administration of the region.

Darjeeling is not forign soil for Nepali community living there. They are Indians and of Gorkha community. They did not just mirgate there. Those Nepalis who migrated to Canada Japan America Australia moved there recently, thats not same as people of Gorkhaland. People of Nepalis origin have lived in Gorkhaland for past 400yrs, and on top of that Limbus are the original inhabitants of that land, not bengalis. Listen, I am an nepali living in USA most of my life, I want to be Nepali but I can’t do much as “Nepali” in Nepal. Like for example I’m born in Nepal but not allowed to have Nepali id card, why? Cuz the beggars of a government would not make money off of us if the allowed dual citizenship. The first blame goes to the government of Nepal. And it is on people like you to help us, but what do you do? Just try to question us on why we are abandoning our country, we’ll cuz the country of Nepal gives us no choice but to abandon it. Last time I was there during Covid, country was shut down and I went like a week late to renew visa they charged me $1000 dollar for late fee, your telling me that I should stay at a place like this? You missed the name of Sri Ganeshlal Subba who was the chief architect of "Gorkhasthan" . In 1946 , as District Secretary of the undivided CPI , he drafted the said memorandum for the creation of "Gorkhasthan " which was jointly signed by Sri Ganeshlal Subba(Secy, CPI) & Sri Ratanlal Brahmin (President, CPI)) submitted to the then Constituent Assembly. Later in 1980, Sri Subash Ghissing took the cue from the name "Gorkhasthan" to "Gorkhaland" & in the fag end of the violent agitation he mysteriously accepted Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) whose jurisdiction was restricted within the three hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling district. In fact, DGHC's area was much much less than the erstwhile Zilla Parishad's jurusdiction which covered the whole of Darjeeling district including Siliguri sub-division & its HQ was located in the Red Cross premises in Darjeeling town. Further, in 1988 after the signing of the tripartite agreement for the DGHC, surprisingly for the first time in he history of India, the then leftist state government in addition to the existing Siliguri Municipality created Siliguri Mahukuma Parishad(SMC) & Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) for the development of Siliguri sub-division alone. It's an irony that since Independence to till date, successive state governments', the so called DGHC & the present experimental (sic!) GTA have completely failed to improve the basic infrastructure of the hills & the basic needs of its residents like drinking water, garbage management, random construction of high rise buildings violating the norms, extremely pathetic traffic management, lack of parking facility for private & self driven tourist vehicles etc. The work for the widely publicized "Nal se Jal" scheme of Honb'le PM is yet incomplete & from so many decades, Darjeeling residents are compelled to buy water from tankers to supplement their basic daily requirement !

We came with our LAND to be incorporated in INDIA. We are not Immigrants, Intruders, Infiltrators or Trespassers like Bangladeshis, Rohingyas and Razakkars. We have placed our Trust, Belief, Faith and Allegiance to the Constitution of India. Darjeeling was never a part of West Bengal.
U came with land from sikkim kingdom, not gorkha kingdom. Chogyal gifted u lots with ur land to British. It was always sikkime territoy, nepal held it for few years only, even in Anglo gorkha war, ur ancestors allied with British n fought against gorkha. It is sikkimland.

State of Sikkim should be integrated into Gorkhaland statehood movement. Linguistic influences of Gorkhas are very much evident in Sikkim as they speak in Nepali for general day to day communication. Nepali/ Nepalese refers to all those Gorkhas, Marwari, Yadav, Jha, Mondal, Ali, Hussain who are citizens of Nepal, and does not identify any jatiyata, but only rashtriyata. The Marwari, Yadav, Jha, Mondal, Ali, Hussain of Nepal are equally Nepali as those Gorkhas of Nepal. That's why Nepal had Nepali Yadav as 1st President, and Nepali Jha as 1st Vice President.
Whereas Bengali, Tamil, Punjabi, etc do not identify as any citizenship but a jaatiyata. A Bengali of India will not identify himself as Bangladeshi, neither a Punjabi of Pakistan as Indian, nor a Tamil of Srilanka as Indian.
I m not a Nepali, coz m Indian. But being a Gorkha i m definitely culturally/ socially/ linguistically same as the Gorkhas (Khas & Kiraati tribes) of Nepal and hence well connected to them.
Pls note: Neither all Gorkhas are Nepalese/ Nepali nor all Nepali/ Nepali are Gorkhas.

Constitutionally, Darjeeling is a partially excluded area. Meaning, Darjeeling Districts regional identity yet remains to be decided. So forcing people of this region to speak Bangla is wrong. Infact, given the historical background of this region, also, keeping in mind the rights of indigenous people, it should be part of SIKKIM. Britishers were gifted this area by THE KING OF SIKKIM in return of an annual compensation. When Britishers left it should have been reunited with it’s original place. Some times I think this whole issue of Gorkhaland is to divert people’s attention from it. People will keep fighting over something which is not possible and politicians will keep benefitting. We could already see the kind of corruption going on in the hills. Nature is being destroyed, unregulated constructions going on and indigenous people are being denied their rights. Gorkhaland or not, but if people here will keep losing their indigenous identity then it will definitely become a general land.
I guess that Gorkhaland agitation was a congress govt project to protect Northeast region, at that time communism was rapidly gaining its influence in north east and south india, and Nepal then were trying to get its former land back from india through resolution in the UN councill, if the agenda of Greater Nepal would have entered the mind of darjeeling people before gorkhaland, then the whole northeast would have been easy to decouple from india and annex it ( i guess it was in chinese interest to provok nepal to do so), hence it was a well planned national security measure, during the agitation many communist leaders were killed which is not in the record
Darjeeling was part of sikkim and sikkim wasn't under the greater Nepal gorkha kingdom so, how do you think you are part of gorkha? darjeeling was under gorkha rules same like uttarkhand later they want independent from nepal, now uttarkhand become uttarkhand but, why darjeeling need gorkhaland? Nah, Gorkhaland movement if you see has roots in communism, it was initially chiya bari Andolan where people were instigated to stand up against the factory owners for more wages and a say in working of the factory. It was later given a identity factor so as to spread this chiya bari movement across the entire region.
Even today at the heart of Gorkhaland movement is the idea of socialism. We are essentially fight for more market control, a say in local resources and more involvement in the administration of the region.

Darjeeling is not forign soil for Nepali community living there. They are Indians and of Gorkha community. They did not just mirgate there. Those Nepalis who migrated to Canada Japan America Australia moved there recently, thats not same as people of Gorkhaland. People of Nepalis origin have lived in Gorkhaland for past 400yrs, and on top of that Limbus are the original inhabitants of that land, not bengalis. India took their land but did not give them identity. That's why they want separate state for themselves.

Listen, I am an nepali living in USA most of my life, I want to be Nepali but I can’t do much as “Nepali” in Nepal. Like for example I’m born in Nepal but not allowed to have Nepali id card, why? And it is on people like you to help us, but what do you do? Just try to question us on why we are abandoning our country, we’ll cuz the country of Nepal gives us no choice but to abandon it. Last time I was there during Covid, country was shut down and I went like a week late to renew visa they charged me $1000 dollar for late fee, your telling me that I should stay at a place like this? And when I told them all to eat masu, bhaat on my name with that money, they were all speechless.

If u want to be nepali that is all depend on you. we don't have right to tell this things but, if u are others nation people then no rights to use nepal nation name freely. it is not about money. it is about the dignity of nation. it doesn't means we are poor so, nepalese means nothing in world. yet money is needed but, land is mother for us. u can blame the politics blame the dalal but, not to the nations. we know you are in hard times but, if we can we will help to you like rabi lamechane. if u respect motherland we respect you too. 😊
@@lotusman992 I’m literally blaming the gov of Nepal. I’m not blaming Nepali citizens only asking for support in times of need cuz just know when Nepali people are going thru hardship it is mostly us sending monetary support.
