I stayed at the Prince Palace hotel many times and the canal was just out the side door. The canal 20 years ago was more of a cesspool but very efficient .
I'm no expert, but it's a safe bet the khlong is useful for the 3 inches of rain Bangkok might get in a single day. The gutter system won't handle that volume. Khlong to the river and then to the Gulf.
Many people laugh at that mask these days. But, she is standing next to a dirty diesel engine everyday. The same with walking around the BKK streets. I never thought I would say it, maybe a mask isn't a bad idea.
Last stop on that water taxi (Khaosan Road direction) is a very short walk from Loha Prasat (Wat Ratchanatdaram Woravihara), one of my favorite, often overlooked, places to visit.
Sawadee . I've taken klong taxi once. Did i hear you said klong drainage? what kind? I wondered about the aroma in the air. Then advise don't get splash in the mouth. Yikes!
It doesn't take a city engineer to guess where two inches of rain in 24 hours is going ot end up. Along with any other garbage or matter that may be on the street. A 6 foot deep canal is only going to stay so clean. I'd guess. the canal is there for rain run-off. The water taxi is an afterthought.
Nice vlog ❤
Thanks for liking

Thanks for watching
That klong boat is actually a scenic ride if you take it after the sun goes down usually between 6 and 7 pm. If I remember right the last boat is 7 pm
Ya the boat stops at sunset
Lady wearing the mask on the boat has the right idea 🤣

I've always wanted to travel this Khlong now I feel like I have.
I'm glade I could show you the process. It's not that tricky. Give it a try.
I have been splashed by the canal water when i pulled down the plastic curtain to look at the view,
Ya, you gotta watch that water

I think I went up there years ago. I need to go back and check it out.
