Curious what you think of videos like this? I love making them, that's for sure. Comment below and let me know if you like watching them. cheers everyone!
I really appreciate videos like this, showing the life of typical Thais going about their daily lives. It really brings the culture to life! Thanks Chris.
That's a very powerful and interesting video. I love that kind of dive into the local life and society that we don't necessarily get due to language barrier. Love the stuff OTR food does, this feels like a good addition
Of course, you can do as you want with this money Chris. But, I would love for you to go visit Peng again and present him with the money so he can get home and see his family. I just wish I could give more. I may not be able to help every driver in Bangkok, but one is enough for now. Perhaps others will open up their wallets and do as I have. If so, maybe Peng can fulfill that dream of going to work at his cattle ranch and be forever with his grandchildren.
I've seen countless of your amazing videos, but this has to be one of the most heartwarming one, right up there with when you were helping the locals with food and such during the COVID. Cheers, Chris!
I love BKK and videos like this display the lovely warm genuine heart of Thai culture...its amazing people. Watching them live their daily lives is magical for me. Thank you.
Chris, another masterpiece. Your ‘day-in-the-life’ documentaries are like nothing else I’ve seen on TH-cam. Simple and to the point but great production value. You demystified the craziness and humanized the industry in your portrayal of Peng. Such a dangerous life for so little money. I can’t imagine those who would haggle a lower fare. I can’t imagine how many of those 90k drivers are seriously injured or killed every year. You can see in Peng’s eyes and hear in his voice his love of his grandchildren. I hope and pray he realizes his dream one day.
What an interesting video. I really enjoyed it. I have only ever had good experiences with taxi drivers. One time while vacationing in Thailand I went for a very long walk in the heat and I was not used to it. At the end of my walk I jumped on my motorbike to drive home. I didn't get very far when the heat of wearing the full faced helmet made me feel very weak and I almost passed out while driving. I was barely able to stop. I got off my bike and sat on the side walk. A motorbike taxi driver from across the street saw me struggling and he yelled at me and asked me was I okay. I said NO. He ran to me and said what do you need? I said I need cold water. He ran into 7-11 which was right next to us and came out with a 1L bottle of water and an ice cold cloth. He put the cloth on my neck and helped me get a few sips of water and poured some water on me. He helped me at a time when I was in extreme need. I never forget that man that day and how much he helped me, I was ready to pass out. Thank God he was there.
❤ seeing these videos, Chris - makes me appreciate everything about living in Bangkok - I see these guys every day, and it shows me a side that I never think about - keep up the great work
Chris. You are a movie maker. This video was informative, interesting and very touching. Brought me to tears. Please make more of this genre. Very well done.
Your ability to bring awareness is such a social force for good. You're an asset to not only the expat community but also the locals. Admirable work, Chris.
Hey Chris. I just booked my first flight to Thailand. I am staying in Bangkok for 9 nights, then Chiang Mai for about 2 weeks. I picked up Teenee too. It already saved me a huge hassle with finding a good hotel in Bangkok. Thank you for all of your videos. I never would have been able to do this without all of the information you have given the world.
Love seeing how other people make their way through the their day..just facinates me to no end. I could watch this stuff all day. Keep it comin' amigo!
Great video and filmed very well. I've been here in Bangkok for a couple of weeks now and how locals live always intrigues me. It's great to see an insight into ordinary day to day life of hard working people. you should definitely continue making this type of content. So often people who provide crucial services especially in lower socioeconomic groups get overlooked or looked down upon when ultimately they are a vital cog in keeping economies thriving.
I love so much those "Day in the life of..." episodes, Chris. And this one, though way too short for me, was one of your best. I never take these motorbikes, I'm afraid of riding them in such a big city. But next time I'm in Bangkok, I'll make sure to use them and give the driver a good tip. Thanks for showing how life's difficult for them...
Hi Chris. When I was staying in BKK 14 years ago, I supported them constantly. I tried to never haggle fare prices with them - knowing how hard they worked to make an honest living. I suggest you make more video on this format: the unsung heroes of Thailand. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Chris this was so well done. I loved every minute of it. I’ve worked for over 30 years in Asia and especially love visiting, doing business, and enjoying Thailand. It is so true that there are so many unsung hero’s in life and this video highlights how truly special they are… ❤
Damn smoke in Chiang Mai made my eyes get watery. As always, excellent job Chris. These types of videos are why I think you are the number one TH-camr in Thailand. These "in the day of..." stories are much needed and much appreciated. Thank you for doing what you are doing. Many blessings to you and your entire team.
When you're lost in Bangkok, these guys are friendly and will help you find things around the corner in the local neighborhood. Even if you don't use them as a motorbike taxi
I really enjoy these types of videos and I'm almost sure nobody has ever followed or even thought about making a video of a day in the life of these guys it's hard work for hardly any money. I feel bad for him that he really wants to go home but he can't, sometimes this world is cruel
This is a brilliant mini documentary ,well done !! I have always admired the skill, professionalism ,and hard graft of these men and women . They work really hard and long hours and always try their best to do a good job under very difficult abd dangerous conditions . I have used them many times and never been overcharged or taken for unnecessary detours. Without them I think Bangkok would grind to a halt . Much respect to them all 👍 👍 .
First of all, I am much appreciated about this video. Thank you for sharing the day in the life of a motorbike taxi driver. In my recent trip to Bangkok, I decided to be 'brave ' and to give motorbike riding a try. One of the rides I have taken during the craziest traffic: about 12:30 pm on a Saturday. It was a hair-raising experience for me because we were on Sukkhumvit going to Terminal 21! But I am (gradually) getting used to this mode of transportation now. I will continue to support and to rely on this group drivers for many of my short trips. Thanks again for raising the awareness. I now have my reason why I choose motorbike taxi drivers to get me to places.
Toronto sends its regards ❤ Great job man! Keep doing it. I used to think it was just me, my descriptions and impressions of Thailand, Bangkok, the Culture, Life and People. Noticing the everyday simple things and simple pleasures. But listening to you describe your life and joy being in Thailand is like listening to myself lol.... and your work with the scholarships in the North is On-Point. I've been supporting orphanages in Thailand for 8 years since the country affected me in a great way with my first visit. I visit them annually. Again, i thought it was just me paying it forward. I'll be back in BKK for my first Songkran this April. So excited. Take care sir!
I love those kinds of video of the daily life of a hard working person. I ve seen a few coming up on this Channel. thank you Chris for showing us this part of a hardworking person.
Really enjoyed seeing part of the heart of Bangkok and Thailand. I have used them on my last visit and felt the camaraderie amongst.them while they helped me navigate to the correct street. I was jet lagged and confused - they helped. Their fares were so cheap that we doubled it when we paid. I appreciate them even more now. Thank you.
Great VLOG....these guys help keep the city moving. Absolutely love the "day in the life...." vids. THX Chris for another informative and interesting 15 min. The more ya know......
Wow, this is a good special editorial edition vlog. Something different than your normal content. Please do more of this type of vlog. Love it ❤❤❤ aloha from Hawaii. 🤙🤙🤙
Chris , you just show to the world one of the very best documentary VDO ever . It's very simple but very informative , very interesting also very touching with full of emotional story . You make your day.
My goodness. What a fascinating and insightful vid Chris. So well shot and put together, riveted from beginning to end. A big round of 👏to those that helped with production, well done. As for Peng, thank you so much Peng for allowing us into your day. So generous. If you love Thailand / her people, this surely tugs at the heart strings. I hope Peng gets to see his Grandchildren sooner than later.🙏 Can you enter this clip (with permission from Peng), in a short film festival? Loved it.💕
I love these day in the life style mini docs! Very nicely done imho. There are so many kind humble and very hard working people around the world. Much love and respect for all of them. Thanks Chris.
I ride side saddle every time. Partly it's because of the exhaust but it's more about modesty. Ladies in short and/or tight skirts can't ride astride. Kids do but not grown ladies. And I often forget on the rare times I'm wearing pants so I just end up side saddle anyway. Thank you for these kinds of videos. I love them! It's also an easy way to help explain to my family something that's hard to put into words 😅
Such a great video mate! It's shot and edited so well! When I'm in Bangkok I jump on these bikes a few times a day and I always tip them as I know it's certainly not an easy job. Was so interesting to see more into their world thanks to you. Keep em coming mate! Big love from Australia :)
Thanks Chris for another fantastic video on the daily lives of the ordinary folk of Bangkok, I'm sure every one of the motor taxi drivers has a story of hardwork and hardships, I will definitely use them more in my travels to Thailand. I'm hoping to see Peng on my next visit and I'll certainly donate some funds for his grandchildren. I noticed his depot was outside the idolme clinic located at exit 4, huai kwang mrt station, Bangkok for those also interested. ❤ 🇹🇭 🛵
This is a truly great video. One of a kind. I really appreciate the intimacy and kindness of Thai people for welcoming you, us, into their world. Thank you Peng! Myself, I often overpay for motorbike taxis but that’s as should be, as a farlang. I generally insist on a helmet or I bring my own, because sometimes the ride is truly terrifying, weaving into oncoming traffic, mai bpen rai! Yup, if you want to know what’s really going on, ask the boys in orange. This is a truly great video. Thanks Peng for sharing. Hero.
Thank you for what you said at the end of this video - about NOT haggling prices. It makes me a little upset when a foreigner tells me he was happy to whittle down the price for a ride, some fruit etc by five baht here, ten baht there. That money means so much to the person who is devoting their life to doing some sort of service for our convenience. For us it's a few pennies.
That said, one does have to beware if a local is trying to get, let's say a thousand baht for a bracelet that's worth 100. One lives and learns as you stay here in Bangkok.
Chris, it was a nice surprise bumping into you and saying hello at the base of the ThongLor BTS on Friday night. We are finishing up two months in Thailand, partially due to your inspiration. We'll definitely return. Keep up the great content.
Thank you Chris, you have a very warm heart and I love these stories! The dignity and resilience of these people humbles me and reminds me to be thankful every day. Please keep up the good work 🙏🙏🙏
Wow… best video, thank you, Chris. I love your words at the end, “next time you’re using a motorbike in Bangkok, don’t haggle the price “… even consider small tips for them. You’re becoming more and more Thai which is เมตตา
Thank you Chris for this lovely video. It’s a good reminder to everyone to appreciate those who keep the city moving. More of these day-in-the-life videos please.
I loved this video. I am a frequent visitor to Thailand and have spent a lot of time in the country. I am always so curious as to the daily lives of the everyday Thai people I come across.
The love for his grandchildren.Thank you for sharing this amazing video about the motorcycle drivers in BK. I have visited BK 5 times and always seen them around the corners but had never used them before. From now on, I will definitely go out of my wayt to support them
Great video once again, Chris Promise to give a better tip next time on a MC taxi. Also good option to listen to spoken Thai; but I am too slow for the subtitles
Another great video, about the people that we always see in the background of life in the Big Mango, but seldom notice. I’ve used these guys often, and they are hard working and friendly. They keep the city moving and are essential to life in Bangkok. How about a video on the “baht buses”? I’ve ridden those a bit as well.
I’ve enjoyed many of your other videos for fun practical advice but this was something very special. Fascinating and moving to watch, thank you for sharing this story with us.
Welcome back to doing what you do best! The live blood of Thailand videos! I was down on you for catering to the high rollers a while back. This and the various food cart videos as well as truly affordable residences is what made your channel so good. This is what you need to keep doing more than anything else. Well done! Very well done!
During my time in Thailand l always take the time and talk to the bike taxi guys as they seem to know almost everything going on. Its a good way to get updated fast. Most of them are friendly as well. Thanks for the video. 🙏🏾
One of my favourite videos so far on this channel (I've watched a lot of them!) - educational, touching and authentic. Would love more content like this!
These are my favorite videos from you, Chris. I always try to tip any honest taxi, or motorcycle taxi driver. A lot of people from the US, or Canada don't know how hard it is to make a living in other countries. It's not as easy as going out and applying for a job and getting one, there's tons of competition.
LOVED THIS! Very cool insight, documentary style. Do it again! IDK who I want to learn about ... maybe the backstory of traditional muay thai gym owners or thai cops.
I just got back from Thailand after a month. My first visit to Asia. The traffic of Bangkok is a "Polite Chaos". These scooter taxis are everywhere and the biggest kick out of that I got was on Valentines Day, which is like New Year's Eve in Thailand, was women wearing dresses riding scooters side saddle while aggressively texting as their scooter driver weaved through heavy traffic. Chris' videos helped me truly enjoy my one month, thanks! Going back in June for more dental work at Edelweiss Dental Center.
Curious what you think of videos like this? I love making them, that's for sure. Comment below and let me know if you like watching them. cheers everyone!

Keep up the good work.
loved it. keep up the good work.

Kind act brother ❤
I must have got some dust in my eyes when Peng was talking about being with his grandchildren.
Funny he didn't say anything about missing his kids.
@@gimmejr I think at 13:05 and 13:48, no?

I've seen countless of your amazing videos, but this has to be one of the most heartwarming one, right up there with when you were helping the locals with food and such during the COVID. Cheers, Chris!
Another masterpiece, Chris. Thanks for continuing to share the story of the Thai people. These videos touch my heart so deeply and I end up in tears.
Wow, thank you

They used to have meetings at City Hall and they asked to be helpful at all times
I love the Thai people, they're so kind and humble. it's an amazing place.
I lived in Bangkok over fifty years ago while in the Army. You can't imagine how important these films are to me.
These are my favourate types of your videos. Real stories about real people to make us better understand Thailand 👍

Absolute masterpiece man. Captured Bangkok perfectly and the storyline was amazing. Well done sir

Looking forward to more of these
Great VLOG....these guys help keep the city moving. Absolutely love the "day in the life...." vids. THX Chris for another informative and interesting 15 min. The more ya know......

wow, thanks a ton Hawaii!
This is Peabody worthy. Really great journalism.
Chris , you just show to the world one of the very best documentary VDO ever . It's very simple but very informative , very interesting also very touching with full of emotional story . You make your day.

Great video. Well done and awesome way to humanize these guys who are part of the city's background.
This was really well done. I’m looking forward to the next one
Love this. I was just on a moto taxi in Bangkok 10 days ago!
Such a great video mate! It's shot and edited so well! When I'm in Bangkok I jump on these bikes a few times a day and I always tip them as I know it's certainly not an easy job. Was so interesting to see more into their world thanks to you. Keep em coming mate! Big love from Australia :)
Excellent Chris! I never knew about how the orange vests came about.
I really enjoyed this video! So much respect for Peng and all the other hard working Thai people ❤
Terrific Video. Reminds me of why I love and miss Thailand so much
Wow, This is a great story. I rode one of these motorcycle taxies last month in Bangkok. And it was fantastic. Thanks from Seattle.
ชอบที่คุณนำเสนอเมืองไทยในหลายๆมุมที่ บางคนอาจมองข้าม แต่คุนนำเสนอได้ดีมากครับ
Thank you Chris for allowing us this insight into the man behind the motorcycle taxi. Awesome video mate. 👍🇦🇺
Chris, it was a nice surprise bumping into you and saying hello at the base of the ThongLor BTS on Friday night. We are finishing up two months in Thailand, partially due to your inspiration. We'll definitely return. Keep up the great content.
Wow, this is a good special editorial edition vlog. Something different than your normal content. Please do more of this type of vlog. Love it.
Amazing work. Please keep it up with the fascinating documentaries nobody else covers
I really love this filming it's refresh and fun. thanks so much Chris.
Thank you Chris, you have a very warm heart and I love these stories! The dignity and resilience of these people humbles me and reminds me to be thankful every day. Please keep up the good work 🙏🙏🙏
Amazing bro! I love Bangkok. And love your content. Keep up the good work. Much love from India.
Thai people respect n honesty to everything is what made this system work....🙏🙏🙏🙏
Nicely put together video Chris 👍👍👍👍
Wow… best video, thank you, Chris. I love your words at the end, “next time you’re using a motorbike in Bangkok, don’t haggle the price “… even consider small tips for them. You’re becoming more and more Thai which is เมตตา
I love videos like this Chris! I love learning how they actually are living and what they enjoy and do and eat and believe etc
Thank you Chris for this lovely video. It’s a good reminder to everyone to appreciate those who keep the city moving. More of these day-in-the-life videos please.
Lovely story! I wish all the legit motorbike taxi drivers the best as long they treat everyone the same.
Amazing episode. Love this nice to see the real life of ordinary Thai people
I've been a subscriber since the beginning, and I think this kind of video is what you do best (I like the road trips too)
This was the best, most informative insight, ... I think your on the way to becoming a possible something
This is the best video on this channel so far. No attention whoring. Repped.
I loved this video. I am a frequent visitor to Thailand and have spent a lot of time in the country. I am always so curious as to the daily lives of the everyday Thai people I come across.
This was really well done, Chris. Thank you. I do love riding on the back of those motorbikes- there's something about it.
That video was dope! I appreciate all the Thai who hustle everyday to keep the city grooving, and this video shoes the hustle and heart they have! 🙏🏽❤
Appreciate it!! I loved making this video.

I’ve enjoyed many of your other videos for fun practical advice but this was something very special. Fascinating and moving to watch, thank you for sharing this story with us.
One of your best videos so far. 👍
Reason why I love Chris video. He cover every aspect of live in Thai.
These guys are way under appreciated. Great video.
Welcome back to doing what you do best! The live blood of Thailand videos! I was down on you for catering to the high rollers a while back. This and the various food cart videos as well as truly affordable residences is what made your channel so good. This is what you need to keep doing more than anything else. Well done! Very well done!
Great vid Chris, what an interesting story, really enjoyed it
Your VDO and Content have improved tremendously, reaching a level comparable to a real-life documentary.
During my time in Thailand l always take the time and talk to the bike taxi guys as they seem to know almost everything going on. Its a good way to get updated fast. Most of them are friendly as well. Thanks for the video. 🙏🏾
i love this kind of content day in the life
One of my favourite videos so far on this channel (I've watched a lot of them!) - educational, touching and authentic.
Would love more content like this!
I love this behind the scenes type video. Thank you for sharing this humble and kind mans story
These are my favorite videos from you, Chris. I always try to tip any honest taxi, or motorcycle taxi driver. A lot of people from the US, or Canada don't know how hard it is to make a living in other countries. It's not as easy as going out and applying for a job and getting one, there's tons of competition.
One of your best Chris!
Man, I really love this video. The quality is superb. Keep making it please. Respect.
Oh.. Chris. This is a good content! Love this one!
Fantastic video. By far the best Thailand TH-cam channel bar none.
