That's because he wanted her to be able to figure that out for himself. He remembers what it's like to be a cub and the King's child.. he was always asking questions then and no one would give him a proper answer and he had to figure it out...
I love how clever the movie title is. "Simba's pride", referring to 3 things at the same time. First, it refers to Kiara, like how parents refer to their children as their "pride and joy". Second, it refers to the pride of lions that Simba now leads. Lastly, it refers to Simba's actual pride, that blinds him to the reality that he is being tyrannical, by punishing even the children of his enemy. That's why I also love the overarching lesson. Simba tries to teach Kiara that even though they may think differently, he will always love her because at the end of the day, they are family. Kiara grows up to learn this lesson, and expand upon it, to see that the outsiders are also family. The line "We are one" delivered by Kiara at the final battle, that gets Simba to finally realise that he was in the wrong, is one of my favourites.
"Them...? Us? Look at them, THEY ARE US...what differences do you see?" the only difference was in how they FELT... Zira had guided their feelings for so long. But feelings can change, especially when faced with the reality of a situation (ie, losing Nuka) "No mother...Kiara's right...ENOUGH"

Also, the title of the movie really has a dual meaning, if you think about it: Simba's Pride. It does refer to his Pride of lionesses, but also to his Pride, his inner, personal pride that gets in the way of some of his decisions. He's so proud to be his father's son, and bases most of his decisions on what he presumes Mufasa would have done, which got him into some trouble. It created a rift between him and his daughter, it helped lead to a war, it fueled his over-protectiveness, though most of that is based on his own experience as a cub.
I always read the title Simba's pride as referring to Kiara. Like how proud he is of Kiara or something. I don't know what you said actually makes more sense now that I think about it.
This song is just absolutely phenomenal! Like “Circle of Life,” EVERY SINGLE LYRIC is a 100% true statement about life and one that everyone experiences at least once in their life, especially the ones that Kiara sings. These lyrics have actually given me a boost every now and then through some dark times ever since this film came out back in 1998 when I was only six years old and I doubt it will never fail to continue doing so

"As you go through life you see, there is so much that we don't understand, and the only thing we know, is things don't always go the way we plan." I like how Simba uses "we". As if to let Kiara know that he's had similar emotional conflicts and that he understands why she is the way she is, but that he doesn't want her making the same mistakes as him.
Simba is meaning full As you go through life you see..... There is so much that we don't understand. and the only thing we know is things don't always go.... the way we planned.
Frozen, so Elsa could become queen. The Rescuers, if Penny wasn't an orphan she wouldn't have been kidnapped because someone would have been looking for her. Hunch back of Notre Dame, Quasimodo wouldn't have grown up in the cathedral if his mom wasn't murdered. Lilo and Stitch, because a main part of the plot was Nani trying to prove she could raise her sister, which wouldn't have happened her their parents were still alive. Fox and the Hound, Widow Tweed wouldn't have raised Todd if his mom hadn't been shot. Brother Bear, if Kenai hadn't killed Koda's mom then he wouldn't have been turned into a bear. Finding Nemo, it was just Nemo and his Dad after his mom and all of his siblings died, you can't tell me that didn't impact the movie at all. and of coarse as summerwashes3 stated Tarzan, the death of Tarzan's Parents is the only reason Kala could adopt him, and the only reason she wanted to is because her son was killed, so his death was a crucial moment in the movie too even if some people don't see it that way. So you tell me, is The Lion King the only Disney movie that has a "plot-convenient reason the parent died"?
When I was little me and my dad would spend days and days watching Disney movies over and over. Now I'm an adult and my father isn't here anymore 😔 but Simba and Kiara's relationship reminds me of me and my dad, and all the time we've watched this movie together. I miss my father terribly, but I'm so glad I have these memories to look back on 😊♥️.
I think you are forgetting a few important lines "it's our pride deep inside we are one" and "We are one you and I" meaning that Simba is telling Kiara that THEY (as in their pride) are one. Not all lions
I never realized how many life lessons I've learned through these songs as a kid till i got grown. I know I'm not the only one that feels that way. I can't be the only one.

jediskunk67 Kiara is really really pretty! I personally think Nala is gorgeous, but Kiara has something special about her that makes her much prettier!
I love Simba 🥰🥰 As a baby (like 2-3) I watched The Lion King pretty much on loop XD Once it finished I'd play it again and make my mum and grandparents watch over and over. It was and always has been my number one inspiration and helped me discover my life long dream which is to Become a vet and work with animals 🦁🐒🐆🐗🦚🐸🦔🦒
What really makes the Lion King 2 an excellent sequel is how it delivers the songs. You see Simba teaching to Kiara about responsibility while inspiring her with love, compassion, and trust. That's what this song is about. Then later you see Zira teaching her son Kovu (and also Vitani and Nuka) about revenge by inspiring them with hatred and envy. Zira's song (my lullaby) shows that she is completely consumed with hate and a desire for vengeance to the point where she raises her cubs for that one purpose.
@@5Mariner Why couldn't Simba try to answer them? May Simba have purposefully ignored those questions for his own reasons? It feels like Simba's doing what Zira's doing, trying to raise Kiara to be how he wants her to be without considering what she may want.
@@mikipatka5246 He tells her that, but if it was told in real life instead of a movie where everything is scripted, this would be dishonest since he couldn't know that she will find her answers.
Ya know, I'd kind of like a film version of Mufasa and Scar's story. Imagine the drama of ending right as Mufasa tell his pride about the upcoming birth of his heir.
Have seen that movie for the first time today and especially this song has an unnoticed resemblance to the Abba song: "One of us". It's my opinion, listening to this sing is like listening to One of us.

Very true, I also felt and imagine the same, it's sad that and Simba is really strong at heart, tha't why he is one of my fav characters.. my heart moves with it, and how Simba passed time without his mother and father
This song reminds me that all the hatred, racism against each other should end cause We don't want this to take to our grave..This is one life, we will live happily together..All nations together for some eternal peace till this universe exists..See the magic is Universe is a latin word..Uni means ONE and verse means Song..We have our own part to play in this song..I'm an Indian there before I'm an earthling and today I want to say to every beautiful human of every part of this magnificient earth that *I LOVE YOU ALL*
The lyrics of this song is similar to Muslim Persian poetry. Rumi (a famous Persian poet) is well known in the West, and his poems are often speak about very similar things as this song. Rumi's poems have definitely impacted on cartoons to some extent, but it's hard to say how much. Rumi's quote "Always remember, you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think" was used by Christopher Robin (In the "Search for Christopher Robin"). It wouldn't be surprising if "We are one" was inspired by Rumi too. His poetry is very similar to this song.
Tears of pain, tears of joy, one thing nothing can destroy, IS OUR PRIDE DEEP INSIDE, WE ARE ONE. Hits so hard. This song doesn’t get praised enough as a all time Disney song universally
1:13 Kiara has a really good voice. This is one of my favourite lion king songs ever, it’s so good and emotional with a lot of heart and a good message
How I like this song. It exemplifies how everyone goes through life--going on a journey that is both fraught with challenges and making difficult decisions that could potentially change you and others in your life. But never forget that you have the support of those who love you and want to help you succeed in your dreams. Welp, time to add this song to my favorites.
I just did. Never saw it before, and my family almost never likes the second movies, so we never saw it. My brother showed me something and it made me want to see it, so I watched the movie. I like it for the most part and wish that the concept could have been applied to my favorite series: Transformers. The Cybertronians have been fighting for so long as if they are two different species, but what was the saying that they were taught by Primus? Till all are One. I understand it now. I didn't really know what that saying was meaning really. I mean, in Transformers they say that when their sparks go to the Well, they become one with Primus, but now I know that the meaning is not just in death, but in life. It is to be applied in this Life! I really wish I could tell them that. I know Optimus knows, but Megatron never really understood. I don't think any of the Decepticons really understood. I feel so sad for them. It's not fair that most of them die without having learned this important lesson, probably chief among kindness, care, consideration, and compassion for others. People in the world today need to learn these lessons too. I know we all make mistakes, but I am learning not only to smile and ask how someone's day has been, but to be considerate when it's clear that they need a helping hand, or just to avoid a topic they don't want to speak of. I naturally care, but I've had so much negativity in my past, that I don't know how to really show that I care. Compassion is the last one I am learning, and I still don't have it down. Compassion is key when showing people Jesus. Showing Jesus is just one part of speaking Life to others. I'm not just a Christian, I live to be like Jesus and to show Jesus's light to others. I am the light of the fire, the fire to live is Christ, but to die is gain. Until all are One.
As I go on this song will be a lullaby for my children and their children, just because of the important messages it holds. Kiara is my favorite character because she fought for what she believe in. Something we all don't do. We humans need to understand that 'We Are One' with the Earth, animals in body and soul.
GOD coming back to this song brings back so many memories. This movie was the movie that exposed me to romance and really brought me back to the Lion King Franchise. Which led me back to many of the old movies I watched as a young child and... if it weren't for that I wouldn't be writing stories of my own today. This song may be an old one but... it's a gold one.

He's so proud to be his father's son, and bases most of his decisions on what he presumes Mufasa would have done, which got him into some trouble. It created a rift between him and his daughter, it helped lead to a war, it fueled his over-protectiveness, though most of that is based on his own experience as a cub.
It's also why Scar was probably the perfect villain. Even long after his death, you can see the scars he left on everyone, good and bad.
@@Michael_CDK yeah that too
I always read the title Simba's pride as referring to Kiara. Like how proud he is of Kiara or something. I don't know what you said actually makes more sense now that I think about it.

oh yeah,
This song is just absolutely phenomenal!

I like how Simba uses "we". As if to let Kiara know that he's had similar emotional conflicts and that he understands why she is the way she is, but that he doesn't want her making the same mistakes as him.

Is it me or is TLK the only Disney series where there's an actual plot-convenient reason the parent died?
juuuuuuuuust you.

Tarzan
Abbenxena Okay let me rephrase that. WHY DO THE PARENTS DIE IN THAT MANY DISNEY MOVIES.
The Lion King is probably one of if not the best movie I’ve ever watched. The artwork, characters, and music is just phenomenal!

I think you are forgetting a few important lines "it's our pride deep inside we are one" and "We are one you and I" meaning that Simba is telling Kiara that THEY (as in their pride) are one. Not all lions

You know you were lucky when Lion King was what you watched after finishing your homework as a kid. I'm never gonna get bored of this movie..... :)
Kiara's voice is so adorable. Thanks for the music!
What about Kiara's unanswered questions in the song? What do you think of them?
@@KevinLGlory She'll find those answers as she grows.
@@5Mariner Why couldn't Simba try to answer them? May Simba have purposefully ignored those questions for his own reasons? It feels like Simba's doing what Zira's doing, trying to raise Kiara to be how he wants her to be without considering what she may want.

“Indeed, we are one soul, you and I…
You are in me, and I am in you.” - Rumi
Tears of pain, tears of joy, one thing nothing can destroy, IS OUR PRIDE DEEP INSIDE, WE ARE ONE. Hits so hard. This song doesn’t get praised enough as a all time Disney song universally

I am. For a long time, I forgot that this is one of my two favorite Disney direct-to-video sequels.
5Mariner same I love this song
Same here. This song still hits different 💯
Here...nostalgia brought me here..oh how time flies!!
i was obsessed w this movie when i was little and this song always hit me right in the daddy issues
Underrated song and movie!
As I go on this song will be a lullaby for my children and their children, just because of the important messages it holds. Kiara is my favorite character because she fought for what she believe in. Something we all don't do.
We humans need to understand that 'We Are One' with the Earth, animals in body and soul.
Lion King 2 Simba's Pride is one of Disney's best sequels.
GOD coming back to this song brings back so many memories. This movie was the movie that exposed me to romance and really brought me back to the Lion King Franchise.
