@@charlesrowland8202 np. stay strong. i listened 2 this when my grandma died on november 4 2011 from liver cancer. i had depression b4 she passed so i cried about her a lot more often. i dont have it anymore. one of the last few times i saw her i bought her a bouquet. i cried my eyes out at her viewing & funeral mass. i listened 2 it when my grandpa died three years ago from covid. they were divorced but now theyre 2gether again. my other grandma has alzheimers & cant remember he died or where she is. i was a lot closer with them but shes still my other grandma & i pray 4 her. r.i.p. grandma & grandpa :’( i love & miss both of u :’(

Every time I hear this song, I think of the bond my first dog and I shared. He spent half of his life (18 years total) broken by a car wreck that rendered his back legs useless, but he could still run and walk on his front two. Every time I hear the line “for one so small, you seem so strong…my arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm,” it makes me think of how hard he fought to stay alive after it happened and I’ll be forever grateful for the years I had him. Last night, May 14th, our golden retriever, Penelope died due to cardiac arrest. I play this song even when she was alive and makes cry. Now that she's gone, it truly hurts. But I know she's no longer in pain. Rest in peace our princess Penelope 2011-2020. You'll be in my heart, always.

@@dodohead147147 im so sorry. my aunt put her chocolate lab hershey down on june 25 from a tumor :( he wanted 2 be a lap dog but he was 90 pounds & nobody let him. he rooted on everybody but they all kept him down except me. i was the only one who let him up with me. all he wanted was 2 cuddle. when i met him in 2009 i pet him & he rooted on me. i said “uh, ok” & he climbed on my lap. my aunt yelled at him 2 get off me but i said he was ok. i didnt care if he was heavy. then he was about a hundred & i still let him root on me. b4 they put him down my aunt & uncle said he weighed 93. i even let him sleep on the bed with me too & shared my pillow with him. my aunt said he probably loved it cuz they never did. there were only a couple nights when he slept downstairs. when i got up & came down he climbed on me again. im gonna miss him climbing on my lap & rooting on me soooooo much :’( r.i.p. hershey :’( i love u :’(

My Hettie was similar, I don't think they realise how big they become and still have the puppy mindset where they just want to be in your lap and snuggle haha. Tabitha Schultz I was adopted too. I love my mom and even though my birth mom was poor and mentally unstable I am grateful she acknowledged she couldn't take care of me the way I needed to be and decided to put me up for adoption. I'm very lucky. I love my adoptive parents and I'm happy you got adopted into a good family too. Adoption is a great thing. :)

I haven't heard this song in a long time, before I became a father. I was putting my youngest to sleep, 8 months old, and she was struggling to fall asleep. So I decided to try this song. She fell asleep quick and I am crying while holding this precious baby, because the lyrics hit me like a sledgehammer

When our 18 year old little dog passed away three years ago, we had a small memorial at home for just the family. My adult daughter created a powerpoint presentation of videos and and photos of her and set it to this song. We all cried, in remembrance and honour for this lovely little animal that was such a big part of our lives for so long.

I rescued a kitten when it was dying at a corner and after a day it tried to approach me little by little. When it came to my lap I was singing this song. Great memories.

When I was six weeks old, I had something choking my trachea. I had to have emergency surgery. According to my mom, my dad was holding me, and when this song came on, he started to cry. She swears that is the only time she has seen him cry.

Yesterday I lost my beloved beagle Abby to an illness the vet couldn't heal. If you have a pet, please do me a favor and hold them a little closer tonight. I thought I had more time with Abby but life is so fragile and unpredictable. I am so grateful for the time I had with her and she will always be in my heart.
I had a beagle named Cody who passed in 2012 of natural causes I loved him dearly, I have since got another beagle love him to death but he will never replace Cody pets are very special
I'm really sorry to hear about your loss .It is brutal when your dog's life comes to an end. Last July, my 17 year old Golden Retriever passed away. I was an emotional wreck for a month. Dog are truly part of the family. At least we can take some comfort that we worked hard and gave our dogs the very best care possible.
It sucks to lose a pet. My uncle lost his chihuahua dog, on December 15 2014. She was born on November 22 2005, so she was 9 years old. I was a complete emotional wreck, because she was like a friend to me, and she was a lap dog. And, she couldnt walk on her own, because one of her hind legs dont work correctly. Also, she had fluffy fur. She was really nice, and would not even bite me when I picked her up.
Mayahzdog09 lol I have lost a chihuahua to a horse, a great dane on christmas, and recently well I can't recall the breed. Life moves on. None of my dogs would ever bite.

My daughter was in the NICU unit from 5 days old until she was 2 weeks old. The line “for one so small you seem so strong” is true for every baby that comes out of the NICU unit. I play this song for her before she goes to bed at night because it helps her fall asleep. She’s only 2 months old but she won’t go to bed without me playing it.

I’ve never really heard another song like this one. It’s definitely a love song but it’s a love song to anyone you love. Not just your special someone. It’s just a song to sing to anyone you love friend, mother, father, spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather…anyone. It’s just a song of pure love for anyone you love. It’s really a very unique awesome song.

It wasn't meant to be a love song. Phil Collins wrote this song as a lullaby for his daughter Lily Collins before it was fully composed and featured on Disney's Tarzan. It's meant to be from a parent to a child. But I suppose it could be to anyone. It's a beautiful song.

There’s a difference between romantic love and love for like your daughter or you sister. Just because something is a “love song” doesn’t automatically mean it’s a romantic love song. It’s a love song towards anyone you love your friend, your spouse, your brother, your sister…It’s not a romantic love song. Even though you could sing this to your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend. I use to sing this song to my daughter. The foundation of the song talks about protection, speaking about how you will always be there to keep them safe. If you listen to the words the kind of love described here is quite defensive and implies that the person at the receiving end is too young to fend for himself. As we all know in the movie it's about the Gorilla and Baby Tarzan.
