Personally, this is the ultimate Primus song: catchy, complex and, ultimately, empathetic and human. It proves to me that Primus is not weird for weird's sake, but rather seeking a new way of expression. Wonderfull and brilliant. (Thanks, guys. I don't listen to you all that often, but my life would be poorer without you.)
This era and also during the Green Naugahyde era. I might be biased because I first saw them live in 2011, but even watching footage of them from that era now blows me away
The first time my buddy took shrooms I turned on this song and turned the strobe light on super slow when I had to leave the room to take a piss. I came back to him with his hands on his face laughing. It's a truly evil, beautiful song.
It's not an old slogan because that slogan will never die, its always going to be their slogan like it or not...They're not sick of it, they started it
Mark Mantlick I was present throughout this tour. They did in fact try to stop the Primus sucks chant. Les Claypool would say on stage at it was an old joke and they didn't intend for it to go this far. They realized it wasn't going to stop so they just let it go.
If you really don't know about the Primus sucks thing then you don't know about Primus. It's an slogan they've had for themselves. It's not meant as insult.

Finally some one else who knows that they hate that lame slogan, I constantly have to tell fans of Primus that every time I see "Primus sucks" on a video
it doesnt upset me at all, just irritates. there are alot better things to be saying about primus other than people arguing the fact over the primus sucks slogan.

Agreed 👍
Les's bass sounds like mud bubbles
Absolutely gloooooooooooooooorious
They really did sound their best during this era.
The sound of 6 string fretless.

Hahaha! This is one of the first Primus songs I ever heard! Part of the musical conversion :P
Sweet! I was at this concert!
no one else could've created this musical moment. Primus is truly unique. delightfully demented. 0_0
God the growl from that 6 string CT bass...
Kinda reminds me of the warwick thumb tone
Hearing this on lsd is the most peculiar shit
I've wanted to see these guys since my middle school days. I hope they tour again soon or something

man Les' bass always sounds sick, in a good way of course!!!!!

Definitely record it! We need more Bob covers on youtube.
I love Primus.. I'd have to say pork soda is my favorite album... Any of you guys ever check out Oysterhead? A great band as well.
Indeed a great band. Coincidentally with another, though not as darkly perfect, song about suicide.
Les Claypool.....master of the spooky bass line.

** I had a friend that took a belt
Took a belt and hung himself
Hung himself in the doorway of the apartment where he lived
His woman and his little bro
Came home from the grocery store
Only to find him dangling in the apartment where he lived
I had a friend who shaved his head
Put his Doctor Martens on
And drew such wondrous pictures in the apartment where he lived
He praised my creativity
Though he spoke sarcastically
Oh, the conversations at the apartment where he lived
I had a friend who took a belt
Took the belt and hung himself
Hung himself in the doorway of the apartment where he lived
Rock, she thought him spiteful;
Ler, he thought him pitiful
Me, I've never been back to the apartment where he lived
I had a friend that took a belt
Took a belt and hung himself
Hung himself in the doorway of the apartment where he lived
I had a friend that took a belt
Took a belt and hung himself
Hung himself in the doorway of the apartment where he lived
I had a friend that took a belt
Took a belt and hung himself
Hung himself in the doorway of the apartment where he lived
I had a friend that took a belt
Took a belt and hung himself
He hung himself in the doorway of the apartment where he lived
I had a friend that took a belt
Took a belt and hung himself
Hung himself in the doorway of the apartment where he lived**

Saying "Primus Sucks" is the band's old slogan, that means you support Primus.
It only takes one to change that!
but it won't be me. Don't worry.
Primus is awesome.
Do not discuss the old slogan.
O.o
@marc340 its like saying primus rocks
