Hello there, i am a rather quiet viewer but since you asked if Radwimps made some of the Sountrack for Weahering with You i would absolutely recommend you to react to their song called Grand Escape, if possible to the live version. Also would love to see you to reacting to more Radwipms songs in general. That said keep up with doing great content and greetings from Germany.

Your name, Suzume, and Weathering With You are all directed by a famous movie director named Makoto Shinkai. You can get the feeling they're a trilogy but they are actually all their own separate films. You can just tell when a movie is made by Shinkai. The man is truly a movie genius.

Contrary to a sense of adventure, this OST evokes in me a sense of something ancient, primal, and...lonely. The instrumentation reminds me of Japanese shrines, so something possibly occultic as well. As for the Weathering with You OST, would love to see your reaction to the full "Grand Escape" track, that part of the movie was so hype and unforgettable. Apparently Nijisanji's Machita Chima has done a cover of Suzume!

This song came at the ending of the movie and I swear to god, the whole song is a theatrical experience. The way it hits in the big hall filled with people singing it along even though they are messing up the lyrics but still with that sound experience. There was couple amazing scenes where the ost hits so hard! I watched Suzume twice in the movies and stayed the whole time this song was playing after credits both times and almost cried bc of how emotional I was. I really like the lyrics of this song so much, they're really beautiful. The music and emotion just builds up so well in this ost.

(I was lucky enough to get to attend the world premiere for the dubbed version and see Makoto Shinkai discuss the making of it; one of the coolest experiences of my life!)
Also, here are a few recommendations for other anime you should consider checking out the OSTs/OPs & EDs for (I think you'll especially dig the first one):
    - Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy
    - Urusei Yatsura (2022 reboot)

Suzume is a great, if confusing movie. There's quite a bit of Japanese mythology mixed in with the plot, but also a few references to more recent real life events. The movie IS enjoyable on first viewing, but I found it even more enjoyable the second time once I'd done a bit of homework.
Also to answer your question, while Weathering with you and Your name are loosely connected via some cameos, Suzume is pretty much unrelated.

Toaka's whispering is like she's resting your soul on a parting journey. The song was at the level where your souls will forget their paths back because they were entranced by this whisperist.
I love the tranquility and serenity when she sings and they let her tune, vocal flows naturally. The instrumentals were like god's gifts to accompany this vocal. Its truly a beautiful song.

There's Suzume, Weathering With You, Your Name, Garden of Words, Children Who Chase Lost Voices, and 5 Centimeters Per Second, all of which are by director/writer Makoto Shinkai. He has collaborated with Radwimps for his last three films, but all of his films have carefully crafted soundtracks, and music plays a large role in his filmmaking. My personal favorite is Garden of Words; he describes it as the second act of a movie by itself. The visuals from Garden spread through the internet like wildfire, especially in tumblr and lo-fi/cozycore art spaces, and are a large reason for why he was able to secure funding to make Your Name (even though he eventually felt rushed to finish it.) It's also 50 minutes long, so it's not a big ask of your time.

I found out about the movie after hearing this song in a random tiktok and the movie was only going to come out months and months later and the song made me want to watch it so much. It feels like a brain massage. When I finally watched the movie I did like it, it's nice, but it doesn't live up to this song imo.

"Suzume no Tojimari" was on cinemas here in Spain this past March, 2023. I don´t think it has any relation to "Your Name", except that they were made by the same director (Makoto Shinkai), which a lot of people are comparing to Hayao Miyazaki already. Haven´t watched "Weathering with you" yet, but it´d make sense that the director would re-hire the same music band.
Also, this is a movie in which an animated chair fights a talking cat, and yet, it moved me to tears by the end.

If I may recommend you and your wife watch the movie "Wolf Children" together. It's a movie about parenting and I think you both would enjoy it.

Day 91 of recommending the Beyblade openings.
There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!

RADWIMPS indeed made music and scoring the whole soundtrack for Weathering with You. They produced staggering five theme songs, with two of them featuring another female singer named Toko Miura. Three of most popular ones are "Is There Still Anything That Love Can Do?", "Daijobu", and "Grand Escape".
The first two do have MVs, but don't have English CC. So perhaps you could react to the official translation of the lyrics after you react to the MV/song, it's up to you if they make into the final cut of a YT video or not, or maybe exclusive content for Patreon?
Meanwhile, "Grand Escape" doesn't have an official MV. However, a channel called Tranquility made a lovely AMV of it and it has an official English CC. So maybe you want to react to "Grand Escape" first.
And hey, let me know if you need the link of the videos. I'm happy to help.

I haven’t listened to them before but Suzume hit me like a bus with the feels from the first second I heard it. And you’re saying this is not as emotional as their usual stuff? Wow, I need to check that out then!
