STG always has the best install and build videos! I can't count the number of times I've rewatched STG videos while doing maintenance! Very informative, convenient, and to the point!
Solid video. I took off my first railing today. Many thanks for your detailed explanation at how to inspect the pieces as you go when removing. Learned a lot.
These can be tricky, just dealt with them again yesterday installing a set of R&G frame sliders on the R6. There are a few things you can do: 1) slide a large flat blade screw driver under the head of the fastener and give the top of the handle a good smack with your palm like you are trying to cut it off. Now take the Philips driver and try to turn it out without putting much pressure on the screwdriver. 2) try to get a tiny flat blade screwdriver or a pic in between the base and head of the fastener to separate them a bit then use the screwdriver 3) cut the damn thing off is my last resort. This style fastener can be troublesome for sure. - Brian Van
You do not need a lot of torque for bodywork fasteners. If you are unsure pay attention to how it felt when you disassembled it and try to mimic that level of torque when you reassemble the bike. - Van
Hey Brian, I removed the fairings for the first time yesterday and I had to cut that dang stubborn rivet off :). Do you happen to know what part number is for that river so I can order some. Thank you for your videos and help, Brian!
I do not know but can tell you that a proper hardware store will have a fastener in stock you can use to replace this one. You are welcome and thank you for watching! - Van

Thank you soooooooo much just got my new 2020 r6 looking to install sliders what tools do I need like you?
You can do most of the service on the R6 with a basic set of metric hand tools. You will need metric allens, wrenches and a metric socket set. - Van
do you know where i can buy the bottom fairing bolt i have no idea where mine went and i dont know where to buy one
You can order that from the dealer if you wan the same one that came out. - Van
How do you remove the front headlight cowl fairing you forgot to include that and nobody shows on youtube
You will need to remove both of the sides as well to get the nose off. Sorry we did not shoot a video on that piece. - Van
Any tips for removing those philips head plastic fasteners if they decide to be stubborn and the center doesn’t want to pull out like it should?

100% - Van
I am wondering how hard I need to tighten the bolts

Hello is that headers will fit with my SC Project CR-T Slip On? Thanks 🙏🏻
I would not try to mix and match exhaust brands. - Van
How do you remove the reflectors
You need to remove the fasteners that hold them in place. Pretty self explanatory when you look at them IMO. - Van
Good job 👏🏻
Thank you for watching! - Van
Can you do another video with tank fairing remove?
Sorry we do not have this bike here in the shop any longer. - Van
i have to say, out of all the bikes with fairings i've ever worked on, this generation yamaha has been the most aggravating.
that little black spacer fairing thats the very bottom mid/center piece, basically sitting near the headers has been a pain =/
Please make one on removing the front and rear fairing
Sorry we do not have this bike any longer. - Van
Can you do a complete wheel swap? Bearing abs sprockets the whole thing?
On the new R6***
Sorry we no longer have this project bike here at the shop. - Van
You the man! Thank you 🙏🏽

We are working on getting that done, not sure when it will be up as of now. More to come, stay tuned. - Van

Where does that plastic philips rivet go?
Shoot me a link to the timeline in the video that shows the rivet you are asking about. - Van
