    Yes, rear sets are a must. Either way, I got, from you, the Light Techs. I got the other set. They put my feet and legs in the perfect position for my size. The handling of the bike became a lot nicer when I got my knees in the proper position. I can also hit the shifter easier once I set the height. It made my bike a lot more comfortable to ride.

    Overviews and product/ category comparisons are very helpful. Even for those of us who aren't new to the sport. I had a hard time justifying the expense of rearsets before I got them, but I gotta say, its pretty incredible how much a few cms of adjustment makes to the overall ergos of a bike. Especially on the track and in tight corners etc. Never realized just how much further I could lean my bike over til i ditched the factory pegs. Big Difference for sure!!
    Thanks for the vid & congrats on the sponsorship, thats awesome!

    I had a stock rear set on a Honda FireBlade CBR954RR that totaled the bike. The bike high-sided and went into the swingarm, so insurance totaled it. It was such a sweet bike, I withdrew the claim and spent months rebuilding it so I could keep it. Might have been avoided, almost definitely, with an aftermarket set. At the time, I was only road riding as I only had my motorcycle endorsement for 3 months, so it never even occurred to me. In fact, if you asked me about ‘rearsets’ I wouldn’t have even understood the term or what you were referring to.

    Would you happen to have a picture or ever have experience with an aftermarket rear set holding up and saving an exhaust? To me, the hard rear sets will bend and be trashed and even break off compared to the factory set just bending back how they are designed and are usually still good after bike goes down?

    • @sportbiketrackgear

      I have too much experience with this IMO (end of the day you race and there will be crashes). A rearset kit with fixed footpegs for sure helps to protect the bike during a crash. Personally I have never had a kit cause more damage to the bike in a fall. - Van

      I can't speak as a distributor but as a consumer the level of customer service I've experienced has been absolutely spectacular. From answering my questions, to getting me a free replacement shift linkage, and even sending me a dozen decals upon request via DHL. The only thing is the shipping time of at least 6 weeks is a bit of a bummer. I'm extremely happy with my investment, it's gonna be the first thing I change on my z900 and every machine after. It was between a set of Voodoo, second hand Vortex, or Hotbodies to stay within my budget, but outta nowhere I was offered a brand new set of Gilles Tooling with a $300 discount making them only $200 so I grabbed them up and they've been perfect. The only reason I needed a replacement shift linkage was because I didn't properly tighten up the lock nut after I adjusted it a little bit, ended up throwing the rod mid ride sgd and had to strain my clutch a bit in order to make it home in 4th gear, which I did manage to do. The level of service would probably be different on a larger scale though. That also explains why I got such a smokin deal cause I couldn't figure it out until now.

    Can I still use my oem quickshifter on a ‘20 r6 with driven TT rearsets?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty sure you will need a different shift rod. With that said I reached out to Driven and they are also not sure what the length of the rod would need to be. Once you get the rearsets you could take a measurement and we would then be able to help you get the correct rod. - Van

      I have used Sato in the past but they do not have a realistic dealer support program so we no longer work with them. What I can tell you is the options we have here in this video have all of the bases covered and then some. - Van

Sorry Euro brands have surpassed the japanese brands for over a decade now ,,,Japanese superbikes havent won a superbike comparison for over a decade..FYI i own a Superbike collection of all current japanese and Euro superbikes so not a hater.Euro manufacturers kept developement going after 2008 where the japanese cut developement to minimum (due to economy)

      Your bike is 19 years old now and to be fair you are lucky anyone is producing an aftermarket rearset kit for it. The Woodcraft kit Moves pegs up 1.25" Back 1" in a fixed position with no adjustment. For the current bike models their kits offer adjustable peg positions. - Van
