    What I truly dislike is how GM announces their most competitive vehicles and then state they won't go on sale for another year or so. Because of that, everyone else can one up GM given they know what is on the horizon.

    • @JDDevice
      @JDDevice ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone has been one-up'ing GM. How's it only 120kw charging? That's 20 more than the Leaf which has been out since 2014. Hummer EV uses Ultium tech, so why aren't all the Ultium packs receiving 300kw speeds? ID4 is probably a better deal, especially because the software issues have been ironed out.

      I know of one dealer that has estimated pricing, I adjusted it a bit, this should be a good estimate.
      1LT: $32,500 + $1,250 Destination = $33,750(FWD ONLY)
      2LT: $35,000 + $1,250 Destination + $1,250 AWD = $36,250(FWD)/$37,500(AWD)
      2RS: $37,500 + $1,250 Destination + $1,250 AWD = $38,750(FWD)/$40,000(AWD)
      3LT: $40,000 + $1,250 Destination + $1,250 AWD = $41,250(FWD)/$42,500(AWD)
      3RS: $42,500 + $1,250 Destination + $1,250 AWD = $43,750(FWD)/$45,000(AWD)
      1LT trim is bare bones and without AWD option, just FWD, most likely end up being discontinued considering it's super bare bones in terms of basic features, most will want AWD considering the purpose of this vehicle and price point. When you look into what each trim comes with, most people will get the $42,500 3LT with AWD and with adaptive cruise control and super-cruise, heads-up display, 17.7 touch-screen, heated seats, etc. All the other lower trims have none of those features. If your tax liability (after non EV tax credits are taken into account) is a full $7,500, price would end up being $35,000, or more if your tax liability is less or more/less if your state offers additional rebates/tax credits.

    I already have a Spark EV that is perfect for running around town. I get 60-80 miles on a charge and if I have time to plug up in between I have gone over 100 miles around town in a day. So, the thought of replacing my current ICE Equinox with one of these is ideal! 300 miles on a charge is perfect for us for road tripping. Hopefully it will have some towing capacity so that I can still use my small trailer for picking up larger items.

    The Equinox and Nissan Ariya are at the top of my wish-list. It'll really be attractive if the Equinox arrives at or near 30K. All bets are off if dealers tag on a markup.

    • @bmw803
      @bmw803 ปีที่แล้ว

      STEALERS will try putting a markup. But the buyer can also tell the sales person to go screw themselves and walk away. When they can't sell them, they'll cave in. Also, there will be smart dealers that will not markup, so they can capitalize on that business.

    At present I own a 2022 Nissan Leaf with the 40 kw battery. Great for around town, which I purchased it for. But it would be nice to eventually get another EV for traveling. We love going to Sedona, but I would not want to go in my Leaf. I’ll probably need to charge it more than once, and with each charge after the battery is heated up, will take ages. Unfortunately, there’s no thermal battery management on the Leaf. I saw your video when you drove the VW to Sedona, and with its better range than my Leaf you were still forced to put a little more juice, so to speak in the battery. So, whatever EV that will allow me to go from Phoenix to Sedona and back for the least amount of money will be what I need. By the way, that Equinox looks awesome. Thanks for the video.

    I've mentioned this on other video reviews. But just wish Chevy had the charger door slide open and to the side and stay more flush to the body. Rather than stick out like a regular fuel door. Maybe a design purpose? I am very much looking forward to this EV model. I currently have the 22 RS and enjoy it and get many compliments on it. But this would for sure be something I'd be interested in and my sales guy knows I'm watching it.

      I have never and will never pay a markup. There are enough great EV’s (or any vehicle for that matter) that you can always find one for MSRP or less. In fact, I’ve bought 3 new EV’s since 2021 and all were less than MSRP.

    • @Toymonkeyjr
      @Toymonkeyjr ปีที่แล้ว +3

      More like destroyed by the supply chain issue. If there were more to sell, and less demand there wouldn't be a markup. The markup is for people who want the vehicle now, wait a year and you'll get it at msrp no problem. If there was no mark-up, no one would be able to get their hands on one because the demand/supply ratio is probably 100:1. So good luck on that. The price is appropriate for the market, and even with the ADM is still competitive. No buddy likes paying more for the vehicle then the msrp, but that's the reality of the EV market. MSRP is just a suggested retail price, so if this + the markup is the same as another ev you're considering, then just choose which one you prefer more. It's not complicated.

    • @Toymonkeyjr
      @Toymonkeyjr ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EVMotoring This happens with a lot of manufacturers when they first release an EV, bolt euv/id4/ f150 lightning/ ev6/ioniq. It also depends where you live, major cities with tons of demand for electric vehicles with more then likely have a markup, and imo it's the same thing with used cars when prices become inflated. You can buy a bolt for 31kmsrp +5kadm new and turn around and sell it the next day for 33, so it wouldn't make sense if you bought a new euv for 31 and drove it, and could sell it used for more. This is what flipped the market in august, because used cars started costing mroe then new cars.

    Hey great video! I'm located on Vancouver Island and have created a few EV videos over the years. Been driving electric for ten years now and find myself in a situation where I need another EV. I've driven all the recent cars - Mach E, Ioniq 5, EV6, ID.4, XC40, and Polestar 2. Put my name on the EV6 in May, and the regular price increases have me looking elsewhere. I'm also in the situation where I have a reservation for the blazer EV and Equinox EV. I'm probably going to have to decide to pass or stay with the blazer before I get to the point of even knowing what the RS build spec will be on the Equinox. I was hoping to check them out at the Vancouver car show but it was cancelled.
    So a question for you mostly about the size. How much bigger is the blazer EV compared to the Equinox EV or the ID.4? I'm actually not looking for a monster, and definitely found the ID.4 to be about as big as I'd need. I really liked the Polestar 2, with the main negatives being rear passenger room, otherwise it did everything else I need (towing, fun, comfort, integration).
    Thanks!

    • @EVMotoring
      @EVMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The blazer is mid sized. So think of the difference like comparing a ford edge to a ford escape. It’s a little bit more space everywhere which adds to the total comfort. I’m also not sure what your tax credit situation is up there, but that can make a huge difference. Also, is there complementary charging included on any? That also definitely adds up over time.
