Very informative. I am a Rouvy rider and just bought Apple TV 4K and so far, all works well.
Interesting and timely video. I recently purchased an Apple TV 4k unit as well as the new Zwift trainer and am looking to set it upon my older Samsung smart tv which seems to work well with the Apple unit. Fulgaz is the app I like the most because as they advertise, less virtual, more reality. Having the 32 gig Apple unit I now know I need to upgrade to the 128gig model as I would like to download some rides due to the not so good internet in my area. I currently ride on a Wahoo kiker snap using a training app on a tablet. Have done that for more years than I remember and it has become very boring. Thanks to your video I feel I am heading in the right direction. As a subscriber your channel has been a worthwhile choice.

very good, I like your videos. May I suggest you quote pricing in GBP and EUR as well as USD. I find it a bit odd that videos from the UK frequently do this, but the same courtesy is rarely extended by US content creators. Hardly a massive issue, more a nice to have. Thank you.

Thanks for the video. Quick follow question, I have a Schwinn IC 4 that I use on my iPad with the peloton app. It works pretty well and gives me cadence and heartbeat. Can I not do that with Apple TV? If not, what would be the best app to use if I bought a new Apple TV for my IC4 and I'm looking to get the Runn device for my treadmill.. thanks
I don’t have the IC4 so I can comment on its compatibility with other apps. If the IC4 broadcast power via Bluetooth, then it should work with all the apps I mentioned. If not, then at minimum it will work with the peloton app and Apple fitness since these two apps don’t require any pairing.
I was looking at one of your other videos about the Trainingday app. look pretty nice, and just what I am looking for. Free and training. not the videogame like mode. Is there anything like that for apple tv? I can't find it?

Are you able to run the rgt workouts on the atv? I know the SYSTM stuff doesn’t work but I can’t run workouts from the rgt list on the atv. Works fine on phone and iPad.
Hmm… I don’t recall having issues with workouts on ATV in the past. I will have to take a look and see if anything changed.
Do you have any recommendation of which app would be best to use for a spin/peloton styled ride with video coaching on a smart trainer? My wife wants to find something like that to use on my wahoo kickr bike. Thanks very much

I am a regular Zwift rider and occasional FulGaz rider. I use an older Apple TV and have had issues with the storage of rides. Can’t get it to hook up to my Mac through Ethernet or wifi. So I download a ride and then delete it when I am done so can download the next one. Frustrating. I find the old remote drives me completely bonkers and hate it with a passion. However I love the simplicity of Apple TV with Zwift and FulGaz. I will be buying the new Apple TV in the hope that both my issues are resolved. Thanks heaps for you video.

I've tried fulgaz on apple and I haven't found it to be great experience. For some reason the timing is way off when doing a structured work out from TP. I went back to zwift.
do you mean the start and end of intervals and resistance change is off?
@@SmartBikeTrainers what I mean is that a 45 min session with intervals can take much longer. The timing clock seems to be very slow
Again a great video. Your'e video encourraged me to buy a Apple Tv 4k 128gb. I use it with my Wahoo Kickr V5. Also use an old 43 inch plasma tv. Not fully hd, but it does the job. When i started with zwift i used my android phone mirroring on a chromecast, and together with the companion app it sucked every energy out of my android device. My daughter bought a new iphone and she gave me her's, saying " this is a better device for zwift," and yes she was right. I think the companion app on the iphone works alot better for me. Its more user friendly. As you mentioned the graphics are ok on apple tv. Yes on a computer and a 4k tv its stunning. But the main thing is that i use the smart trainer for getting and staying in shape. Thx again for your'e video's and keep up the goo🤲

A naive question from an Apple neophyte. I am considering switching my Zwift setup from a Windows Pc to Apple Tv. I have a Zwift subscription but not knowing anything about how Apple Tv works, will I also need some kind of Apple subscription in order to do this?? Is purchasing the Apple TV unit all I will need to pay for in addition to a Zwift subscription? Thank you!
You only need to have a Zwift subscription to use it on Apple TV. There are no other subscriptions needed to run Zwift on Apple TV.

What ones are compatible with Concept2 bike ?
I can’t recall if the Concept2 bike broadcasts power or not but at minimum you can use it with the Peloton and Apple Fitness. Also you can use it with FulGaz in steady mode.

I’m not aware of any plans from Bkool to develop an app for Apple TV.
I can't get the frigging sound to work using Apple TV. I'm afraid my TV might be too old. it's a 10 year old Panasonic. I've connected the Apple TV box to one of the HDMI slots and set the sound setting on the TV to digital. I have an external sound bar. The sound doesn't work when I use internal TV speakers either. I've rebooted everything and it still doesn't work. Bummer.
Sorry to hear. That must be frustrating. 10 years old tv isn’t really that old.
Have you checked your audio setting? I would try Auto or stereo and see if that fixes it.
Settings-> Audio and Video->Audio Format-> Change Format->New Format, switch it to Stereo
I also use a older (older than 10 years!) Panasonic large screen TV. Plasma. 1080P. Connected to Apple TV via HDMI. Picture is still great after all these years. No problem getting sound from TV itself or a Soundbar. I would check all your settings and experiment some more as you may have inadvertently done something that prevents sound from playing.
that most likely is the fault of the connection (not just hardware, but also software) between the tv and the external sound bar. Does your tv have its own speakers? do they work without connecting the external sound bar?
@@SoftTofu123 Yes. The internal speakers work fine but not when I'm using Apple TV. There is a setting to switch to external speakers I can turn in and off.
Rouvy dropped family sharing earlier this year (after this video) :(
I am not sure how much extra revenue that brought them. But yeah, that and they increase the price for the annual subscription as well.
