Hi Walt , the MS200T is a better saw than the 201, sometimes the screws that hold the oil tank together come loose causing leaks also see worn out oil pumps leak oil
@@KJHart Okay, thanks. Between you and 'donyboy73' (youtube videos) in Canada, I'll figure it out. It's a good, lightweight climbing saw. Could be the oil pump. Also have an 020AVP, which I bought new in 1976, good though much heavier- doesn't rev so high as the 200, but that doesn't seem to matter.
@@KJHart Thanks to you for showing me how to remove the clutch & panels. I also removed the flywheel panel and the carb pieces. I carefully cleaned away packed in wood chips from years of service. Sprayed with starter fluid to get real clean. New spark plug and gas mix. The saw is literally like new again. What a treat! Thanks again. :)
Hi, just saw your video did a good job! One suggestion, take one of your old bar oil jugs and mark it for your gas mix instead of the big container for inside the shop.
My 201tc leaks all the time. Just add enough oil for the job because it will leak all of it out in a week or so. I’m hoping the tank is not cracked. I bought it used. I’m figuring that’s why they sold it.
Mainly carb and parts solvent with a toothbrush just avoid rubber parts soapy water is best for them to prevent swelling, I try not show in videos as time consuming don’t want videos get too long. On the next clean up I’ll talk about what I use 👍
Super helpful with what you have already shown but it would be amazing if you recorded your full method of cleaning regardless of length. I have never deep cleaned any engine and need to give my identical saw a deep clean but lack the visual aids to do so. Watching you go through your whole process even if some of it was time lapsed would be unbelievably helpful.
where is the oil pump service in this video?
Yes, you replaced the oil filter but never cleaned the pump or the pipe as you say in your title.

I'll be following your video this weekend when i clean my 201. it's not oiling currently.

Just to be clear, you got the clutch off by going clockwise? Also any idea how to do it without an impact?
Yeah clockwise to remove, stihl make a plastic tool that goes in the spark plug hole to allow you undo the clutch with a spanner or ratchet
