Like so many other people in the comments section, Id already made that first mistake. Found your clip when I was in damage control mode!! Thank you so much for such a clear and concise clip. Everything explained clearly enough for even a numpty like me to follow. The fact that you are still helping people on the other side of the world 9 years after posting is something you should be rightly proud of mate. Thanks once again.
My God . . . I did exactly what you did wrong, and of course all the linkages and springs fell right off to the work table. Three hours lost last night, and four more this morning with tweezers and tape trying to finagle the parts back in place. Almost in tears and then I found your video. You are an absolute God send. You have just reserved your seat in heaven my friend. Great Work!!
my boyfriend managed to close it after multiple attempts, thanks to your video. The pieces had flown away. The problem was with the white switch. Thanks 🙏🏻
Legend, thanks mate, I think the spring on my cut off switch is buggered. Wont switch off but the spring won't stay in place. You should charge everyone 10 bob for watching this video as you have save me and everyone good money. In typical English fashion you are clear and concise in your instructions. Fantastic
Awesome video. Thanks....I knew i was in trouble at the beginning when you said, "dont do that...it all fell apart" (I was already there)...watched this and put it all back together. Runs great
SO FANTASTIC!! I did exactly the same mistake. Pulled the handle apart, and all the stuff fell apart. With this video i got it all together in 10 minutes. THANKS!!! Next time all check youtube BEFORE i take my saws apart. 🙏
This video saved my Chainsaw! Thank's a million G1DDD for taking the time, and having the generosity of spirit to make this video. Many TH-camrs have benefited from it over the journey, and more will benefit in the future - there are lots of MS200t still (no pun intended) around! You're a great man G1DDD - God Bless!
Thank you for this good clear video. I didnt have the patience to find out the logic to put the parts together again... Saved me a lot of effort since i live in mid-France and there are not many stihl dealers with knowledge overhere! Thanks again!!!
you just saved my butt. I took the handle apart to fix a sticky throttle, didn't take the kill switch off first and all the parts went BOING. Then came searching for a vid like this Thanks for the close up of the assembly so i could put it back together and for making this video. Too bad i didn't watch this first and hear your advice at the beginning...
Thank you, I didn’t see the video until after I made the mess. I was able to fix the shorted stop switch and reassemble my chain saw because of this video. 👍👍👍
Perfect video...! Thanks a lot! Today i have repair my saw with your remarks. It‘s really the best manual about the on-off-switch - also for german person! Greats from germany!
6:27 the red and the green wire. Do you have an idea what those wires purpose is? The red whire metal is bown by me. Inneed ti know what it is to replace it. Many thnx for the video.
The throttle linkages x2 are brown copper colour. The long one is shown in the video going from the throttle trigger to the top of the orange bell crank. The shorter brown copper linkage goes from the bottom of the orange bell crank to the carby throttle shaft. The wires you are asking about, the green/yellow is always grounded and the other is a positive wire from the ignition, they get joined together when kill switch is rotated. Regards
Thank you soooooooo mmmmuuuch my dear friend for making this video!!!! You saved me hours and hours to figure out how to reassemble this boody handle! Thank you!!!!!!!
Thanks for posting. Wished id watched first. Just spent 30 mins looking for the bits that sprang out in a pile of sawdust !! I had a broken stop switch wire. Grrrrrr
Thanks for this, good to see someone who takes care to give good clear information. I did one of these about 10 years ago, but you forget don't you?. Cheers
How do you go about fixing the saw if the selector switch is moving into full choke independent of depressing the throttle and springing from full choke to run (independent of pulling the throttle)?
Thankyou, glad to help. As for clutch removal here is a great video already uploaded : Stihl MS200 Chainsaw Sprocket & Clutch Removal, Inspection & Refit its by guy called inciderinfo Cheers
You can tell you're a ham. Very helpful, just bought one of these sounds like it may have carb, fuel, exhaust issue box down after running 20 secs. Any ideas which stihl saws share the same parts.? I have an 021, 023 and 029 so if I need parts I might buy more than one. And probably use cheap Chinese copies depending on the part. Anyway thx
He don't show how the two spring leads fit in at the front , the right or top most one is kinda obvious. The lower one is not, he shows where it contacts the choke on off switch but absent is how it lays in the handle.

Cheers mate. I just pulled mine apart without removing the switch. Had it back together in no time after watching this video.

So the way I shut my saw off is turn the switch back to the choke position. I guess the same wire is bad you say yours was broken. Thanks again
How do you go about fixing the saw if the selector switch is moving into full choke independent of depressing the throttle and springing from full choke to run (independent of pulling the throttle)?

Ya know 020 is a nickname because 020 is an earlyer saw there was never an 020t ?
Invest in some good handle Torx wrenches.
Orange wire to orange plastic white wire to white plastic. It's color coded for a reason
Took me ages first time also
Ditto
Awesome…….thank u….
Thanks❤
