If you're looking for an Evernote alternative after the price increase, I recommend you to try Amplenote, which was inspired by Evernote with lots of upgrades such as bi-directional linking and graph view. Even after trying popular note apps like Roam, Obsidian, Reflect and Notion, I just kept coming back to this app for managing my notes, files and tasks.

Some of the links above are affiliate links because they help me survice as a creator! Thank you so much for your help and I really appreciate your support :)
yes, I'll be saying goodbye to Evernote, just today, they are now limiting free users to 1 notebook and 50 notes. thanks for sharing this!
That was a really dumb move.
I totally agree. @@MichaelEarthOsada
They made a Stupid move
Im also changing evernote bro ...
Me too
today sadly ☹
Was an early Evernote fan. Sad to see the state it's in now. Amplenote looks like a winner. Really great presentation. Thanks for the recommendation.
This is exactly what I am looking for an anxious to try it out ! Great intro to it! ❤
Tried exporting all my notes from Evernote, but it didn't organize them into notebooks. I'd have to organize all my notes from evernote into notebooks myself, so because of the terrible export experience, I'm done with this as an Evernote alternative.
What did you end up using?
@@naughtyorgneiss Joplin
@keithwc555 nice, my only holdup worth joplin was interfacing worth external calendars like Google and outlook. Otherwise it for all of my other criteria, hope you like it!
Amplenote needs a BIG UI improvement
The tasks and calendar implementation look very good. Thanks for sharing.
I like all that is shown but if the task does not sync with reminders or MS Todo, does not work in my workflow currently. I also use onenote for handwritten notes with a customer on my ipad mini and I do not see that I can take notes with my apple pencil?
Looks nice, but unfortuantely lack of folder structure is a deal breaker. Tags are great and all, but I like to organise my notes and files in a folder heirachy. The visual folder structure helps me to organise my thoughts as well.
Hey there Joshua! Maybe give us another chance? Tags in Amplenote are identical to folders, in that they can go infinitely deep (you can have tags/subtags/subtags, nested as much as you want, just like folders). Let us know if you have any questions!
@@Amplenote Why not just call them folders then?
Can you scan (i use scansnap) into Amplenote? Plus i need to backup up my notes since i have a paperless office.
Can’t seem to find it in Mac App Store
Id be happy to move from Evernote but im afraid the export functions wont work for me because i am unable to recativate my Evernote account.
Where is data storaged? In Anytype it's offline-first and storaged locally. For me right now it's too limited in the free version, right now, but I love the idea of different themes
Hi, I am new to amplenote, however, i found that my phone and desktop version doesn't sync at all. I had click the 'cloud' logo on my phone like thousand times, and it show it is up to date, but it is not. Any idea how to solve this?
How do you display the graph view ? It looks great !
I know for Amplenote it's a WIP, but I'm damn curious when it'll be available and if it'll be limited to the paid tiers
I am impressed with your presenation of this app vs evernote. I have been on the fence about getting back to Todoist for task management as Evernote's implementation is lacking in comparision. But I use Evernote for my notes. So its interesting to see this compete with Evernote for notes and implement task management of Todoist workflow all in one. I will give this a test.
Turns out that this ain't for my workflow. There are just some things that Evernote works better for me on vs Amplenote. Very good product but just not for me at this moment.
@@Gaammbit Nice, are you still with Evernote?
@@naughtyorgneiss yes I am. Still using it up to this morning lol.
@Gaammbit nice, in looking into free alternatives but that can hook into zapier.
Deadlines would be an important feature for me to support prioritising tasks…
Does anyone know how deadlines could be implemented?
Dependent tasks is second on my wish list too!
Do they support local notebooks? I.e notebooks or notes stored locally on computer without syncing? Please also be more transparent in terms of what apps is sponsored or not. Do you have any affiliation whatsoever to Amplenote?
I agree, the transparency is getting a lot worse on this channel
I like Amplenote but for right now they don’t do local folders. Craft docs does. UpNote backs up your notes to a backup folder of your choice offline but Amplenote doesn’t.

Made with HARPA AI
I am still on fence re amplenote- I messaged their support re questions before committing. No response for two weeks. I had to send a follow up email to which they then responded. Incidentally I also commented with same question on one of your videos- no response. I will be testing AN over weekend to see if EN import pulls attachments in. AN could not do this with an export from Bear notes so we will see. On surface it looks like the ideal all in app. Fingers crossed.
One again no response does Shu Omi every respond to comments here?
The app looks cool. I'm hopeful that it will integrate AI. Using AI to organize my workflow is crucial for me. Is there a public roadmap available for this app?
What AI do you use with your workflow?
I'm still all in on Tana after having used Obsidian previously and Roam before that.
I wish the look of the app could be updated a bit. I tend to use apps more when they have good design. The grey is so drab.
Thanks for the tutorial. But can you use the app 100% without the mouse? 🤔
(Like in Roam)
I wonder how of these features are available in the free account… Here in Brazil the pro version is way too expensive but it would be nicer to explain the actual differences between the free and paid plans.
Uso a versão free e me atende muito bem.
Who else can't tell what Shu Omi actually uses? Seems like he uses 3 of each category app every other week as his favorite..
Totally agree 😂
Nah, dude plays with stuff but he always makes clear Ample Note is his favorite.
and never seems to respond to comments on his videos@@iwitnesst3370
It's called SPONSORSHIP. He doesn't gaf about integrity. He cares about $$
He gets sponsorship because he ALREADY was obsessed with Amplenote. Per the original comment he reviews plenty of apps but constantly says he USES Amplenote.
Where is the data stored in the free plan? In anytype it's stored locally (and works without creating an account, so it's really save and anonymous).
A pitty that it doesn't work in offline mode in the free plan, the free plan is to limited for me and I can't afford buying it. But I wish you a lot of fun :)
PS. Amplenote-team, I LOVVVVEEEE your minimal theme!! Great Idea of providing themes :)
Hello, what’s your alternative cos I’ve been using the Evernote free plan, but just found out about their upgrade, if I may ask what alternative are you using for a free note if you are using one. Thanks
I think a lot of it has become pretty concerned about the direction of Evernote. Also, I’ve been pretty disappointed with EN’s integration of the AI-which appears ro be far behind everybody else. I’ll give this a strong consideration.
I agree and the AI implementation appears not to have been thought through providing little or no value.
Of course I have tried it or else i wouldn't comment@@Rez-N-8 the AI searches within notes and seems to find a mix of results, a normal boolean search generates more focused results. Additionally AI is not actually available within En for example you can not ask it to summarise an article or a note, EN Ai is basically a fancy search...and not a very good one at that.
They need to add folder structure like the one in OneNote.
Amplenote
Amplenote....here I come
You said free forever
I totally stopped watching your videos, I think people want to watch your videos to know what YOU use and not what is not good for you but you think because it has this one feature there would be some person for who it could be useful. Now your channel has gotten the feel for me that you just try to find all the shiny new toys to make a video about it. Even I who likes to test find it not really helpful and too much, if you just want to share always an updated list of all the apps you find that may be interesting and write a few keypoints why, this would be a valuable addition, but I feel like it’s not valuable to make whole videos about so many products that you don’t even use.
Don’t focus on products and data about the products, imagine how you actually want to help your viewers or which story you want to tell them. Just my feeling
Important to note, this is not about this video, I didn’t watch it. Maybe you don’t do this video style so for clickbait but because you genuinely believe all these new tools are really helpful, I personally don’t believe that, I thought about note taking/management apps much and actually found that if you don’t have a totally specific definetly very important usecase that really works wrong in these apps and you understand the philosophy why it works wrong, then it’s best to use the Apple apps, I use only reminders Freeform and numbers and with shortcuts you can even do a lot of programming and I think they put deep thought in how these apps work
Would love to get in contact with you to talk about it
Weird comment. Some people like trying out the latest thing, some people like diving deeper into what they already have. Theres a lane for everybody.
Maybe, but I think for most people it’s like for me mostly fomo and procrastination, it’s different if he has one app he deeply believes in personally for the long term, but I find the value of showing so many apps that he almost doesn’t use personally questionable
I definitley get where youre coming from. To be fair Id wish my app hopping problem on noone haha (Unique workflow that keeps evolving and a quest for certain features that appear in one place but not anoter) . For example if an open source version of something comes out I practically HAVE to try it as its a personal value of mine.
But I do understand your aversion to straight up shilling. Its fake and scummy.
In fact its the reason I got out of affiliate marketing myself.
I dont think his intention is to do that but since were on the subject what do you think would be the most ethical and useful way to do things on this side?
(By this side I mean people that like to test out alot of things)
