It's a endless loop of watching this type of video and then think I have achieved something, but in reality you have just watched a video not use the video. If you want to get something useful through this video you can watch it and apply the things that it told you . Then ask yourself "the thing or productivity tools Ali told, are they useful, does they help me mange time or they just take more time". I know that when you start something it usually time to get used to it. But in the end It's up to you.

and it's often one of the easier things to change. I give guitar lessons and one of the first things I give my students as homework is to find a place where their guitar can live, where it's safe enough but they also maintain the easiest possible access to their guitar. this is probably the thing that helps the most to really get the practice in every day.

Yeah, these are definitely lots of product placements (and I've gotta say with how problematic Better Help is, I'm a little disappointed he accepted a sponsorship by them, but that's none of my business), but I tend to structure my life and business a lot too.
But that's because I'm a single mom running a business (that's both service-based and digital product-based with different audiences), so I've got a LOT to manage while also trying to stay ahead with growth. Plus, I have ADHD, so if I don't manage my schedule and tasks, it'll dissolve into feral chaos where I try to burn down my entire business for the vibes.
      (Been there, done that. 😹)
I'm also a big believer in simplicity, so I don't use nearly as many things as Ali does. (And I'm not sure if all of what he's saying could be classified as productivity tools, in my opinion. Sure, they're cool gadgets (like the treadmill), but is that a productivity tool or a general wellness tool? Also, is Morning Brew -- or any newsletter -- considered a productivity tool? Because I'm subscribed to MB, but I definitely use it as a distraction some days. To each their own.)
I tend to have several different programs to actually manage my productivity and streamline operations (SkedPal, Toggl, Basecamp, Notion, ConvertKit, etc.), but maybe his audience majority isn't all freelancers or business builders, so productivity looks different if someone's a business owner vs doing a side hustle vs working corporate.
Anyway, all that to say, systems absolutely can be a joy to work with and help to keep us on track, but we've all go to find a way that works for us and try to streamline our process as much as possible. Because I KNOW I'm not the only one who gets obsessed with productivity tools and they end up tanking my productivity because I'm not actually doing the work. (How's that for irony 😹)
If you're someone who can fly by the seat of your pants and feel confident having a loose schedule/system, then that's awesome. (And I'm totally jealous.) It's more about finding what's working for you and not letting people come in and tell you you're doing it wrong.

Thank you Ali. Enjoyed your book. Very shotgun style in this video. I think one thing I would advise people given the heavy influx of approach, method, process, tracking here - please don’t forget the most effective tools of all time are 1) be intentional with how you define your life (my favourite thing ever is Jordan Peterson’s future life authoring program to get a vision, Ali has some good ones in his book too) and 2) just plan and track your time. Everything else is secondary to these two. Like maybe you just most of the time go to the gym when it’s in your calendar, instead of data entry into 4 apps and then writing about it in 3 later. Know what I mean? And if you don’t go, again Ali’s book has great tip about not beating yourself up. Cheers.

wait, so to be sure.... he uses - 2 calendar apps, 3 - 4 types of apps/system to take notes, 1 voice notes/ transcription, 1-2 communication apps, 2 journal systems, and the list goes on. This was exhausting just to watch and can be simplified. how about we focus a video on that. This is the problem with productivity - the more complex you make it, the more its about maintaining it or tracking these things vs. being productive. This is digital overload which is taxing to the brain. Digital detox/minimalism is the way to go.

I disagree, I feel like its very personal how you arrange your workflow. For me, productivity tools just filter themselves down to a minimum naturally, but I still tend to use more software than my peers. There’s nothing wrong with minimalist workflows, but I don’t see a problem with having any amount of software that you use and that motivates you to keep working

It would include information about what you like, what you don't, your preferences your goals long and short, access to the calendar, access to brawser history (to be able automatically understand or predict what you are doing or plan to do), include health trackers, etc.
Once everything is collected, ask chat gpt to help with some tasks, remind about your goals or keep track on life balance or help with a schedule, plan vacation (for example, based previous visits and feedback).

Ao, I use my Gmail calendar for everything. I also have a piece of paper on my desk that says "what is the most important thing I need to do today?". This is great because your subconscious always knows.
I use the Momentum Chrome extension where I can add my focus tasks if I want to however, I don't, I just use a piece of A4 paper split into 3 sections: today, this week, this month. I add tasks to each section as I think of them and then move them up the page. This stays on my YoYo adjustable desk.
I use Notion for my own stuff and Drive with my VA and if I want some calm music I ask Alexa to either play the station Smooth Chill or "Classical For a Relaxing Bath" Naff name but relaxing music!

Hey Ali, I really your videos and thanks for knowledge sharing. BUT...
The perfect system, is a system which can solve issues. I mean, when you have everything scheduled nothing prevents you to follow the schedule - it's kind of easy, but of course the trick here is to have a good schedule which includes fails.
It is pretty hard to me to be on schedule when you have unplanned family obligations. Or when somebody got sick or something else. In my situation everything became broken, I feel exhausted and I can't follow life scripts any more.
Please make a video when you describe problems and how do solve them. How are you dealing with bad mood (or are you always happy?) I think nobody can be perfect, so you also have problems and not solved issues. Even perfect software will have bugs sooner or later always.
    Thanks!

Relatable 100%! Did you find any related pro-tips? It's interruptions that are hurting my daily agenda the most. I miss focusing on one or two projects - instead I have like a dozen that need my attention every day...

@@pietruszqa-netguru I didn't solve my problems. I have only theoretical knowledge which I'm struggling to apply.
      - find a way to be happy with what you already have, find and create simple happy moments.
      - make a list of what you like to do, make it as required to do and it should be your first high priority responsibility because it is your body, your life. This list is going to be your resource list, things which increases your internal resources.
      - once you have more resources you can easily deal with day-to-day problems, ideally you don't even think it was a problem.
The core issue is the low level of internal resources. The goal is it increases. But that requires changing your habits and paying attention to yourself first and then everything else.
Hope that gives some ideas to move forward.

Hi Ali , your videos are awesome and I really enjoy em a lot , your productivity hacks help a lot . I would also tell you one thing . Don’t do multitasking such as playing games while threadmill and such stuff .acc to my fitness instructors , when you do such things mindfully then it would give better results. And reading while shower is also not a good choice as shower is to relax and rejuvenate yourself and to cleanse the body . Doing these stuff normally will benefit a lot rather than doing it in the mask of productivity . I hope you get my point . Thanks a lot again . Love your videos ❤❤

So many tools I didn't know. Thank you for sharing such an informative video, Ali (as always). I've been using Amplenote for a few weeks now and It's amazing how productive it's helping me to be. I'm still using other tools, but I think Amplenote would be enough for most of people. It can be used not just for taking notes but for Todos and calendar management as well. The daily jots feature is so powerful! I would love to watch a video of you sharing your opinion about it.
