Looks Fabulous Emma, the landscape gardener was excellent, his work is second to none, you were very lucky to get him and as the the cost ....what an absolute bargain. Enjoy your garden, you were perfectly right to do it February..😘thanks for another great video update xxx
I gotta say the mix of old mossy brick and new pristine slabs is quite charming and esthetically pleasing, just a perfect merriment of minimalism and organic. ❤
That landscaper did a great job. He is clearly very hard working. And those slabs look amazing, thanks for telling us the cons though, something to keep in mind if we ever get round to doing the garden
Looks beautiful!! Anything high maintenance is not for me, thank you for pointing out the cons as well. Hope you have a lovely summer in your new garden
It looks fabulous, Emma. You and Simon have great vision…and patience! I love how the B’s give their seal of approval to all your projects! Beautiful job, as always ❤️
Lovely. As always Emma. Love how your garden has so many nooks and different levels, it’s as if you’ve got more than one garden and have a different aspect wherever you choose to spend your time. Absolutely love the wooden seating you have too. Well done 👏
Congratulations! Looks stunning! 🤩 Thanks for sharing your journey and recommendations. Might you share videos about your at the computer, coordination and planning of renovating from soup to nuts. Ex. What to plan ahead, keep track of project mgmt.etc AND how you put up your bird feeders, tips and maintenance to prepare for. Thank you!
We have similar slabs and have the same issue keeping them looking clean and pristine, so I bought an outdoor rubber squeegee from Amazon which cleans them up lovely in between jet washes, I just wet them a little with the hose and they clean up lovely - it’s quite satisfying too. 👌🏼✨
Another major work of art! You and Simon are quite a team. You both share a vision and always succeed with a gorgeous outcome. You had so many challenges and decisions to make, yet nothing seems to deter you from a beautiful finished outcome! Love your style😍😍😍🌸🌸🌸
Wow what a big job! It looks so beautifully calming and definitely fits the aesthetic of the house and your personal style. Bet its lovely to have that relaxing outdoor space now ❤
It has been so calming sitting out there when we have had the opportunity. We love having my morning tea on the seats by the office and watching the bees and birds coming and going ❤️
I've said it before and im saying it again. Your taste in decoration is absolutely beautiful. The right balance between not too little and not too much and perfect colours every time. 👍
You should try that Rock Glue or Mulch Glue (not sure what it is called in the UK) but if you put it on the pretty pebbles then they won't be disturbed, and it is pet friendly. Just in case any of the dogs want to move them or other friendly animals like to mess with the pebbles. It looks very pretty.
So interesting---I had never heard of no mow May! Just looked it up after you mentioned it, and what a great initiative!!! I learned something new (and valuable) today! Thanks, Simon and Emma!
The new garden area looks absolutely beautiful Emma! Giving very much luxe mediterranean vibes, and the colours complement the exterior beautifully. Your landscaper did a cracking job and the cost seems very reasonable for the amount of work involved. A lovely oasis to relax and enjoy now ☺️ Light slabs are definitely harder to maintain but I think the payoff is worth it 🤍
Simply stunning 🤩 it looks like an oasis of calm and relaxation. I can imagine that keeping the tile clean is a challenge but it looks amazing. You and Simon always have such creativity and an eye for detail and improvement. Enjoy the garden ☀️hopefully the weather will improve!
Oh what a fab result Emma, Your garden is gorgeous! You and Simon have worked so hard and your landscape gardener was tip top too! You must have added so much value to your house since renovation started. I must say too that anybody that purchases the property from you in future will be very lucky as not only are the house and garden aesthetically beautiful, but have been renovated to such a high standard - unlike what previous owners have carried out! With regard to the slabs, I mean to show your video to my sister who has very similar laid in her patio and your cleaning woes echo hers entirely! She doesn't have a naughty Stanley to my knowledge but I think other wildlife and cats cause her much cleaning grief!😂 Have a lovely Sunday sitting in your lovely garden (rain permitting - isn't the weather here so changeable for June at the mo!). Love to you, Simon and the Bs. Xxx
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday too. The summer has been terrible so far - rain and spells of sun today 🤦♀️ - but hopefully the great British summer will arrive soon 😆
♥️ Really happy that you both found a brilliant landscaper. Your garden design is beautiful. You have both made some great choices. Just ready for summer.
I absolutely enjoy watching these videos 🤩 they are so informative and just beautifuly filmed! Love the results, what a pure bliss. Hope you guys enjoy many beautiful days outdoors ❤
Hi Emma. Wow! What a huge project and very hard work. As always, the finished patios and garden look wonderful and I really hope you get some decent weather to relax and enjoy them.💖🌸
Emma the work you and hubby have done to improve the home has substantially increased the value you should consider getting the house revalued - great job and well done! Could you renovate the old pool into an Air B&B to bring in additional income😊 unsure if you have separate access meaning no one need walk through the main property😅
Whilst watching this I was estimating the cost to be around £25k because I know hard landscaping with labour is very expensive. I was really surprised that you managed to find a landscaper to do this job for half that price. Well done!
We are removing our decking next week, hopefully there will be no surprises 🤞🏻I also chose light slabs, although my friend advised me against it due to the maintenance but again that medi vibes 😉
Fabulous Emma, agree keeping the slabs clean is never ending, we’ve also found them to be incredibly slippery in the wet, but on warm days when they are clean all good !
Lovely! I would say the cost was very good considering the amount of work and slabbed areas! Just be careful how much you use a jet washer as it will affect the grout and it’ll need replacing quicker than usual
Love how the garden turned out! Just a warning to fellow subs that coral slabs do the exact same thing and have a very high maintenance level so if you were also thinking on those I would think twice lol but overall beautiful as always Emma!
I will say…..even though it’s huge maintenance….it looks INCREDIBLE ❤❤❤We also have white porcelain tiles along the side of our property in Singapore. They are a lot of work…..but, they look beautiful when all clean and tidy.
I love it. An idea that may or may not work but may be worth researching. There’s a glue/silicone people put between tiles to prevent weed growth but I’m thinking this might work on the dirt the bird is digging up possibly. It would work on the rocks for sure but would likely impact drainage which wouldn’t be good but might work for the dirt.
We have a blackbird named Boris, he's a good boy though. What a lovely transformation but what a lot of graft! Landscaper did a great job, as you guys always do
Hi Emma, looks fabulous, the cost was really good value too with all that work, we had our garden done 2 yrs ago, I expected about £6k but it ended up being £16k, mind you that included the new shed and a row of fence panels. We have white porcelain tiles and I mildly regret it but to be honest even grey ones show up the stains and muddy footprints too and I wasn't going to have concrete slabs again! They actually look amazing even after a long winter. As times gone on the odd mark here and there doesn't bother me anymore. We also filled nearly 4 skips and found a whole layer of concrete under the old slabs ggrrrr. Enjoy it xx
Completely agree 👍 We had grey in our last home and the marks annoyed me just as much at the start but you get used to it, after all it is outside and open to the elements and wildlife 😆
Loved watching this, looks gorgeous Emma, i also have numerous Stanleys messing all over my Patio, constantly needs cleaning & mines not white! Enjoy xx
Great video as usual Emma, I've been wanting to do a similar patio for ages and your video has been so informative. It looks beautiful and stylish. I was surprised at the price, thought it would cost a lot more! 💜
Great garden renovation. Seeing as how much rain there has been this spring, it was an even better call to do it when you did. Love how Simon shovels soil in Gucci sneakers! I'm assuming they're old and not used otherwise! 😅
Looks stunning. Well done. I feel your pain with the "patio stack." I too, had the same in my bathroom. Three layers of tiles discovered..........!?@:??? We just need summer to start so you can enjoy this lovely new space.
Did you need to seal the tiles? We didn’t seal our porcelain tiles as told it was unnecessary. I use a large squeegee to clean them off when it rains and keeps them looking clean. Yours does look beautiful.
I think we may have been up sold by the slab company as they "suggested" the sealer when we purchased the slabs. When it arrived we found it was a water based sealer but as porcelain is largely non porous we couldn't really understand what protection it would provide 🤦♀️ however we thought it best to go with their recommendation and it wasn't overly expensive. Ours aren't polished and do have a little texture so we have to brush them, I don't think a squeegee would work but it may be worth a try 👍
Beautiful garden!!!! Does that mean you will have to "karcher" your tiles all the times, many MANY times during the summer to keep them pristine? WOW, with all the trees and your cute little doggies, that will be a lot of work. Kudos to you and Simon! 🤪💪🤪💪🤪💪🤪
No, we will more than likely do it at the start of the season and then once more during the season, if needed. Aside from that it will just be brushing any debris on to the grass whilst we are out and about in the garden ❤️
The grass seed was sowed in the 3rd week of March (if I remember correctly) and we got it from Elixir garden supplies. They offer several types that will suit different gardens but we opted for the premium which is fast growing and hard wearing - so good for the pups ❤️
I can’t believe 1 man did all that work, impressive!
Especially in only a month!🙂

Simon likes it too but I would prefer the cleaner look, so we shall see 😆
@EmmaHill if Simon doesn't get his bright birdhouses there's little hope for him getting old moss 😅
😆
Giving gorgeous med style vibes! Both chic and functional 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you x
That landscaper did a great job. He is clearly very hard working. And those slabs look amazing, thanks for telling us the cons though, something to keep in mind if we ever get round to doing the garden
Beautiful!! I love it. And the naughty black bird and dogs as cute adversaries in the project - so sweet ❤
Nice job as always, keeping a patio clean is a mission impossible.
Looks beautiful!! Anything high maintenance is not for me, thank you for pointing out the cons as well. Hope you have a lovely summer in your new garden
Thank you 💚💚💚

Wow great renovation project. I love what you’ve done.

Hi Lynsey, if possible & you don't mind could you link that squeegee please?! Thank you.
Another major work of art! You and Simon are quite a team. You both share a vision and always succeed with a gorgeous outcome. You had so many challenges and decisions to make, yet nothing seems to deter you from a beautiful finished outcome!
Love your style😍😍😍🌸🌸🌸
Thank you very much! x
It's always fun to watch your renovation projects. I love how organized you are. That's a must for a beautiful result.
That was a true craftsman!

Wow hats off to the gardener who did all that Emma and the end result is blooming amazing 🤗
He was really good and very patient with us with all the decisions we had to make 👍
Really beautiful!❤ You're going to enjoy this patio for years!
If the warmer weather ever arrives 😆
The patio looks amazing! Now it’s time to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor🙂
I’m am ordering my patio slabs soon, thanks for tip I may go for a darker colour.

Sooooo beautiful, Emma! The perfect English garden 🤩🤩🤩
What a lot of hard work but so worth it. Looks great and suits your style x

Looks like a very high end courtyard now and so beautiful.❤
It's glorious what you did to that space 🤍
Emma it’s looks lovely! What a hard working landscaper!
He was really good and patient 👍

Fabulous Emma, agree keeping the slabs clean is never ending, we’ve also found them to be incredibly slippery in the wet, but on warm days when they are clean all good !
We haven't had any issues with them being slippery but they do have a little bit of a textured surface and aren't polished so that should help 🤞
Lovely! I would say the cost was very good considering the amount of work and slabbed areas! Just be careful how much you use a jet washer as it will affect the grout and it’ll need replacing quicker than usual

Your back yard has truly become a proper English Garden
I love it. An idea that may or may not work but may be worth researching. It would work on the rocks for sure but would likely impact drainage which wouldn’t be good but might work for the dirt.
It would probably cause an issue with the grass growing through it if it prevents weeds though ❤️
Wow, what a difference! It looks amazing! 😍
It looks lovely and peaceful. Well done.
Gosh the garden looks beautiful
Thank you. Once the brickwork is done and the fence is decided upon it will definitely be an improvement x

The amount of work is incredible!
Fantastic job--a beautiful, cozy haven!🧡
Incredible hardwork but absolutely stunning at the end! You'll enjoy it so much this summer
Thank you, we will do if summer ever arrives here in the uk 😆
@@EmmaHill same here in Paris 😭
We have the same issue! We picked the same tiles last year and gosh they are tough to keep up on. Especially with this climate. Looks lovely though ❤
Garden looks beautiful, Emma! Know the feeling with those slabs, but we love ours too! Xx
Un jardín ideal de bonito y acogedor.. ❤
Loved watching this, looks gorgeous Emma, i also have numerous Stanleys messing all over my Patio, constantly needs cleaning & mines not white! Enjoy xx
Looks fabulous, Emma and the cost is extremely reasonable! 👍🏼
I have the same slabs Emma, and agree the maintenance is a pain but they look so good 😊
Hope you are enjoying your new patio! ❤️🇨🇦❤️
As much as we can at the moment with our changeable weather ❤️ Hope you are having a fantastic summer is beautiful Canada
There is only one thing to say.....wow!
Hi Emma the outdoor looks absolutely beautiful ❤️
Great video as usual Emma, I've been wanting to do a similar patio for ages and your video has been so informative. It looks beautiful and stylish. I was surprised at the price, thought it would cost a lot more! 💜
So very pretty Emma! All the hard work was well worth it. Love that you love birdie Stanley (even as he creates messes 😊)
XOXO for B-Babies!
Girl, if you ever decide to get into architecture, you do have your first client, signed sealed delivered ! ❤
Very nice, enjoy! Adore those little babies!❤
Looks beautiful! Wish I could have something like that but it’s too cold here in the winter.
Just beautiful ❤ hope you fur babies and you Stanley the blackbird enjoy your hard work 😂 xx😮
Great garden renovation. Seeing as how much rain there has been this spring, it was an even better call to do it when you did.
Love how Simon shovels soil in Gucci sneakers! I'm assuming they're old and not used otherwise! 😅
Haha yes they had been worn so much they were falling apart so this was their last outing 🤣
Beautiful garden Emma.
Another stunning renovation🤍Hopefully we’ll get some lovely sunny days for you to enjoy it☀️🪴
Beautiful outcome - worth all the effort in the end 🌻✨😎
So chic and cool as usual.

Hi Emma! Looks great! Just wondering if you've found the tiles to be slippery? wondering whether to use them to my parents house.
We personally haven't but ours do have a little texture to the top they aren't polished 👍
Just gorgeous ❤
Amazing as always Emma ❤
Thank you ❤️
Looks so nice! Looks like a big garden as well. When did you plant the grass and what type is it? I am wondering if I can grow grass in the winter!
