Your home is so cared for and it’s inspiring… it must do wonders for your mental health and overall wellbeing to take such pride and make it your sanctuary.
This is actually the main reason why it’s kept the way it is. I have ADHD and I really struggle with focusing so if the house is all in order then the noise in my brain is definitely eased, it’s one less thing to procrastinate over 😆 I realise I may make it look easy in these videos but to be this organised there are about 12 different checklists and copious reminders on my phone to remind me to do things otherwise it’d all get lost in the mess in my brain 🙈
@@EmmaHill i can absolutely relate to that, I have no official diagnosis but I am distracted by everything, all the little things others don't seem to see or worry about, it's a tiring visual distraction for me, if there is untidiness and things out of place, it all jumps out at me and I cannot relax, I feel calm when things are tidy and i have space around me, clean space and things where they should be. You really follow an approach that looks very Zen, with thought and consideration to the things you have and the space around them. It actually makes me feel calm watching your organisation lol 😂 And inspired!
Loved this, love that you’re thoughtful about what you buy and ensure items can be changed up like adding flowers or poster prints in the frame, rather than excessive homeware purchases. Your home videos are my favourite.
The house looks gorgeous, Emma. Loved this calming video so much-not just for the aesthetics-but because it has inspired me to get going on my spring clean and refresh.🤎🤎🤎
I love to watch you decorate your home. You have such a good eye for what loves good! Honestly I never think of changing artwork out for the seasons. I think that is brilliant! It has me inspired to freshen up the bits and bobs I have on display in my kitchen! Hope you are having a great St. Patrick's Day today. I enjoyed seeing you and getting inspired! xoxo
Everything looks so fresh and airy, Emma. We’ll be starting our spring cleaning in the next couple of weeks, so this video was a wonderful inspiration to get me thinking about what I want to do. I’m already making lists for my clothing changeover! First, the heaviest winter things will be pulled out, and spring things added. I’m looking forward to the new season! I laughed to see the B’s watching you working so hard on stripping the sofa! Ahhh, it’s a dogs’ life 🥰. Thank you for this calm and considered video. Lovely music, Simon! 💐 🌱☀️
Love love love! As always. The idea of keeping each seasonal print behind the one on display is brilliant. Small changes made for huge visual differences. Great video as always.
A while back I asked how you keep your black hardware clean from hardware stains and you suggested investing in a whole house water softener. THANK YOU. It’s been one of my favorite home upgrades so far. It makes bathing, drinking and cleaning, that much better. I enjoyed your spring home refresh so much. It gave me tons of inspiration. And I loved how your toiletries cabinet turned out! We have ours to redo as well and, again, you’ve truly inspired me. Thank you for always sharing. ❤️
Impeccable taste! I don’t do these seasonal swaps as I wouldn’t have the space to store things for each season. But I like to do a deep clean and clear out of the house a few times a year.
I never thought I would entertain the idea of buying fake plants; this was an alien concept to me. However, I finally 'invested' in a good one (they aren't cheap) - a 1.5m tall parlour palm. I love it; no problem with forgetting to water it or my cat trying to eat it, which was a problem in the past. I would highly recommend if you're wondering about them 🙂 Love the new look of your Spring update Emma!
I’ve never been a fan of artificial flowers or plants/trees but over the last year I’ve definitely warmed to them. As you say when you find good ones they can look great 🙌🏼
Lovely. I only wash my curtains once a year (always in March) I change the candles and wax melts to lighter fragrances too. I’m now inspired to give the fridge a good go today. Thanks Emma x
I’m watching this whole having breakfast, I was planning to clean the patio but uk weather doesn’t think it’s spring yet 😂😂 I’m going to clean the fridge instead, thank you for inspiration
Thank you so much for this video Emma ! I love wreaths but struggle to find pretty ones for spring ; I ordered the lavender one you showed ;-) As for my spring refresh, if I manage to finally put back the Christmas tree in the basement I'll be quite happy with myself ;-)))
Hi Emma, your videos are always so satisfying! A tip to reduce soot on walls from candles is to always trim the wick before lighting a candle and snuffing them out with a wick dipper or a lid, don’t blow on the flame. Using soy or bees wax also produces less soot than paraffin wax.
Emma your home looks amazing …I get very bored with the same things all the time. Thank you for the ideas, changing things and making the room look very refreshed with minimal cost. xx
I love those containers for the produce! Another tip I saw in an article once that has helped my berries stay fresher even longer is to put paper towel in the bottom area and then put the little basket over it. I noticed my berries didn't get soggy nearly as quickly and all I had to do was check every other day whether I needed to refresh the paper towel lining. :) I love the house, it's beautiful!
Lovely home. Your video popped on my feed. Very relaxing. And I stayed on bc of the chi’s ❤🐶🐕I had a blk and tan one for 18 years Miss her so much So now I’m subscribed I also love that you’ve chosen to be human child free. So did I and so happy
March 15th, major snowstorm in Colorado US. Warm sunshine the next day. Spring is in the air. Your home is peaceful and calm. Love it! FYI… I love my fruit-vegetable containers. I love the switch over which started this month. 🌼🪴
Have you considered tiling the backsplash area in your kitchen? By using glazed tiles in a light colour, they would help bounce some light around. You could also put some lights on or under the shelf to help introduce more light. With tiles, you won't have to keep painting it either.
This was definitely just what I needed to inspire me to start the spring clean of my apartment. Especially since I’m going away on a trip soon and my mom will be staying here to watch my cats. 😅
I love how your home looks! That’s exactly the vibe I am going for, minimalist, warm with a mix of vintage and modern decor. Where do you get the collection of these vintage looking vases? Love them ❤
Zara Home are great at vintage/antique looking vases although I do also keep my eye out in pre-loved shops where you can find genuine vintage pottery 🙌🏼
Your home is beautiful Emma! The only time I decorate our home is for Christmas. But we are building a new house this year so perhaps I will incorporate some seasonal changes, just to keep things interesting. It's autumn now in South Australia, although you wouldn't know it as we've just suffered a week-long heatwave. Bring on the cooler temps I say! 😃🤩
I can’t wait for our hot California summers and autumns to end every year, too! Unfortunately, my home is just one ridge of hills beyond the San Francisco fog zone, it can easily be 20F hotter here than in the next town just over this ridge. Good day🙂
It definitely helps with my ADHD but it takes a lot of effort to be this organised because it hasn’t always come naturally. There are a lot of checklists and notes/reminders on my phone 🤪😆
Love your home Emma, and this video put me in a trance 😅 so relaxing, stunning calm audio and visuals. Also made me laugh to see all the pups off the sofa bundled into their bed, looking dissatisfied with the whole process.
I wait with bated breath for you next videos. So excited when one pops up. My style is Alaska Log Cabin, but I find I can use a lot of your ideas in my home. Looking forward to your next production.
You inspired me once again to refresh my living space and while I was cleaning and rearranging I put on your other videos which kept you as my company during the morning chores thanks see you soon 💕
Thank you for this inspirational video! Love to see the changes around the house. 🌿 We moved to our house a few month ago and the next project is the garden so that we can grow some vegetables. Also we have the same fruit containers and put them into the dishwasher and they got destroyed. 😢 Be careful with that.
Oh noooooo. I sometimes spot Simon going to put my Disney water bottle in the dishwasher and I’m in slow motion running towards it like “nooooooooooooo” 🤣🤣🤣

I'd LOVE to see a "behind the scenes" video of your merchandise cupboard 😃
We’re working on a makeover of that cupboard so I have shelves and places to keep things organised so when that’s done we can share it 😘
