@@Grohssnah dude, I traded my mk7 for a mk8 then traded it back because the mk8 are far inferior cars. They have more power potential but the interior is cheap and you can tell where they cut costs. They now look like all the cheap Japanese cars with shitty interiors made from cheap ass plastic, noisy and ugly. Looks like a Kia or some shit now.
Man these guys need a local track or somewhere this racing is encouraged. Modding cars kept me out of a lot of trouble. This is so much better than some of the other alternatives.. lots of great rides here. That GTI is sick. Lastly, respect to those manual drivers. That’s where the fun is. Autos have come a long way over the decades. Now (if I want to be honest) it’s incredibly difficult, if not impossible at times to compete with a dual clutch. Consistently fast and reliable but…the engagement with a manual, hard to beat.. good video. Thanks for sharing!
Nice ! My girlfriend had a similar setup back in the day and would eat hellcats like nothing until her motor blew and she sold it and upgraded to a golf R. Unfortunately I do not think these engines will hold that type of power for too long but until it blows I know they are an absolute blast.
yep, depends how aggressive the tune is. What kills the EA888 gen 3 engine is when you go over 450 TQ, if you can stay below ,even with 500 WHP you will have a generally reliable engine....it's been shown long term already. Its when people play with custom tunes is when they blow their shit.

@@adriangarza3541 nope None of that , preventative regular maintenance Is key with the EA888 gen 3, the golf R/Audi S3 actually has strengthened internals as well compared to the GTI/ a3 engine . Carbon cleaning is a must also every 50-70k miles or so - direct injection. The internals usually never have to be touched unless catastrophic failures
got a 1986 VW "caribe" model which is the equivalent of a golf rabbit you can say. tore it all apart for body work. I'm a Subaru owner but VWs are such great cars as well, awesome video man

I try to tell people all the time the EA888 is the most capable 4 cylinder out there. I’d say honestly the only other 4 I have that much respect for is the 4G63. I hurt feelings in my Tiguan all the time and it’s absolutely hilarious.
@@clipsncasts1 for me personally I have experience with a supercharged k24 and honestly just like he says in the video the power and all around is infinitely more linear in the EA888. I do have mad love for the K though don’t get me wrong…
I’d say stock it definitely has the most power potential of any modern 4 cylinder but if you’re gonna go built something like a k20/24 would be better. Only problem with the ea888 vs Honda 4s is reliability. Lots of things can go wrong, especially once you start making power. I haven’t had any issues but I see sooo many guys with serious issues and junk engines in the forums and on fb.
It's wild because when you're rolling against the Hellcat, it doesn't look like much. Then you see the Hellcat and the Vette take off, and you realize...the GTI is composed, but that bitch COOKS. The MK7 really brought the GTI up a notch, and I still see people sleeping on how quick they can be.
Anecdotally, I have a similar tire setup to Jewels, also RPF1s however on 17x7.5 all 4, not 17x8, therefore limited to 235/45/17, not 245/45/17. Coming from Enkei Raijin's in 245/40/18, I can say that going from 40 to 45 sidewall has improved launching quite a bit. I hook halfway through second gear without any issues, and this is on a 420whp hybrid is38 setup on 93. I'm also on new Indy 500s which aren't particularly known for the best launch traction, so take that as you will. The only cons with running such a small wheel setup is the PP brakes hardly clear them, I've had instances where a gravel from a construction site would get lodged between the caliper and the inner barrel and scratch it lmao. Alongside that you can only static balance these wheels as the caliper is too close to the face of the wheel to put any wheel weights on. I personally still daily them though, as I got them used cheap, and will likely just ride them til they crack.

I love my relatively stock 17 R, cos it's comfy...but my MK1...15 years 20vBT swap....515whp on E60@25psi, sub 1900lbs with me. Wanna play, power to weight is a whole other game, as these dudes find out since you're easily 200-800lbs less than some of these cars. So good, a clean Gti/R, etc always makes a great sleeper.

Hey. Buddy I got a question for you if u can help me out , I got 2018 gti manual transmission, every single time when I do a hard shift 1 to 2 it’s make a loud clunking noise by middle or the car , I’m new on the gti platform can please help me out I would appreciate any suggestions
Go easier on the 1-2 shifts. Stock shifter setup has a clutch delay value. Install a dog bone insert to help with any clunking/slop movement under the car.
