Outstanding! A lot of people still don't realize that you can do this (even after more than 20 years of DCS). You have shown how simple it is to accomplish-Well Done! I used to do demos for MTH many years ago. I can remember a guy coming up at a Cal Stewart Meet in Southern California, who explained to me in no uncertain terms that you could not run a TMCC locomotive in command mode from DCS. I was running a TMCC 3751 with it at the time and showed him that I was doing so. He continued to tell me it couldn't be done, while we were both watching me do it! Again, great video showing very clearly how to do it and showing that it does work well!

Finally a video that made this whole thing make sense. Haven’t fully decided which setup I’m going with but the MTH system seems a whole lot simpler to setup

hey m8 at 9:19, can you get another chord like that to hook up on the TIU to the Command Base with any of those ? And also what's the name of that wire ?

    Wow! Great job!
I was very hesitant to try TMCC/DCS until I watched your video…
I just wish I had done it sooner before the prices skyrocketed due to the MTHs demise and the chip shortage started. I had the TMCC but never used it and I just ordered the DCS!!! Thanks for explaining it so well and making it simple!
Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and I loved the kitty walk throughs🤣👍🏻!

Hi brother your in the same boat as me I actually just bought the DCS system and I'm currently looking for a TMCC base. I cant afford the 1200 bucks these idiots want for a 399.00 legacy 990. I want one but I'm doing what your doing now and waiting to see if lionel comes out with a cab 2 style remote to use with the cab 3 base which I'll buy if they dont sell out so fast. Badass Texas set that things sleek

Nice demonstrational video. So you don't lose any features running your TMCC locomotives on DCS? Everything runs the same.

You can't build a consist with TMCC engines with DCS, or adjust the volume on the remote control. Everything else is essentially the same. If you are only running single engine trains, or (like I did) with cab units, save every engine in the consist with the same address you can run them together.

I tried this with my TMCC engine. The same set up as you and everything properly connected. I flip the switch on the engine to program but when I power the track, the engine just starts running. Can you help me figure out what’s wrong?

    That's a lot of abbreviations.

TrainMaster Command Control. MTH is a brand name. Digital Command System.

@@TexasSpecial91 I've been monkeying with my father's trains, sort of random mix of Lionel and MTH stuff,, mostly Lionel, and at least I got a single train to go around tracks. Haven't figured out any other controls though. Some move, some just sit and make noise. Hmm.
